Hearing this unexpectedly on ‘Blue Gate Crossing’ was a heavenly experience.

Many years ago I downloaded a large amount of twee pop songs that I believe were just compiled by a fan and not anything that was ever released by a label. The assortment was mostly 80s and 90s. Some of the other artists I remember discovering through it were Popundret, The Hit Parade, The Weekend and Glo-Worm. The song I’m looking for was somewhat whimsical and bouncy but mid-tempo, sung in French (at least partially) and mentioned Mary Matalin in the lyrics. The ‘chorus’ (I guess) went kind of like ‘tip-a-tap-a-tip-a-tap-a-tip-tap’ and I want to say either the artist or song title was Aquarelle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
