Filling "plane snacks" with protein?
Man, I'm stumped. This should be easy! I'm going to be traveling (by plane) in such a way that I won't have time to stop for food for about 6 hours, then once I land, I likely won't have access to food for another couple of hours, so I'm looking for travel-able food/snack ideas.
What are some good, filling (preferably protein-based or protein-heavy) snacks to bring on a plane that aren't nuts?
Are we still allowed to bring homemade food like sandwiches?
Also, I'm crossing the Canadian border by plane so will I have to "declare" food items when I get there?
TIA for ideas!
