going to take my bike on my trailer with me on vacation, i want to drive as efficiently as possible, what tire pressure do you guys put in your bike trailers?
1100km trip to south france, bike weighs 150kg, tires are 165-185’s not sure which size exactly. the trailer is small and doesn’t weigh alot on itself.
ps: i know this isn’t a typical trackday question but i know most people take their bikes on their trailer so i thought this was the place to be.)

Didnt check pressures..... 6th or so lap I think the front pressure was out of bounds. Awaiting data (thats another long story) to see if anything was strange about the lap.

I have wanted to get into trackdays and motorcycle racing since college but it has never been an option until recently.

I casually rode dirt bikes growing up and had a Kawasaki Ninja in college but never tracked it. After a couple of close calls, a low side and a high side, I sold the bike and haven't ridden since (13 years).

I've missed riding and now that my life circumstances allow for it I want to get on the track. I'm not planning on riding on the street and have a full-sized truck to move a bike around.

I know my limits, I'm going to suck, so rather than jumping on a liter bike I want to get started on either a 400 or do something like grom/mini moto stuff. I always laughed at dudes on Groms, especially people like me (6' 200lbs) but after looking at some grom racing videos it looks awesome!

So all of that to say I'd like to hear opinions on getting started, essentially from scratch, mini moto for form/getting feet wer or a diving in on a dedicated 400 track bike? TIA

I’ve been riding track a few years, but only like 8 or 9 total days so far, so I haven’t been out there that frequently. But now I’m back living in California and starting to go more regularly. I’ve been running B group for a year now, I took my time in C until it was super clear to myself that I need to start running in B. I’m probably in the faster half of B maybe? I dunno I’m not even timing my laps yet I’m just getting myself super familiarized with all the tracks here but I’ll buy a timer soon so that I can actually gauge my progress. I’ve gotten my BP to a point where I’m really comfortable on my bikes riding at speed and dragging knees, finding the right line and braking points…my biggest weakness I feel is finding the right moments to pass without freaking out other riders.

I’ve been thinking though that if I were to get into racing it will be help a lot in my progress. From what I perceive, the riding style is more aggressive and the expectation is that there will be closer riding…so I won’t feel like I’m being a dick if go for some close passes. I also just want to test myself and see how far I can go in this sport. I’m super passionate about riding and feel like I just want to go all in

I've been reflecting on my last ride and wrote down everything I felt I was doing wrong. I want to improve myself as a rider.

Here's what I noticed:

• Poor line selection.
• Weak or inconsistent downshifts before corners.
• Gear changes still need work.
• I either carry too much speed into a corner or hesitate too much on the throttle.
• My body positioning doesn't feel natural.
• I tend to rush instead of being patient.
• I need to improve my fitness, especially core strength, and get leaner so I can move around the bike more comfortably.

What confuses me is this:

Online, cornering is often explained as a simple sequence:

1. Brake.
2. Downshift.
3. Look through the corner to the exit.
4. Counter steer.
5. Lean.
6. Roll on the throttle and exit.

It sounds straightforward, but when I'm actually riding, everything happens so quickly that I struggle to put it all together smoothly. I know the theory, but I can't consistently execute it.

So I'd really appreciate advice from experienced riders, coaches, or racers.

• How did you progress from knowing the techniques to actually doing them naturally?
• What should I practice first instead of trying to improve everything at once?
• Did any drills or exercises make a big difference to your cornering?
• How do you develop patience and smoothness instead of riding with unnecessary speed?
• Are there common mistakes riders make when learning to corner that aren't obvious from YouTube videos?

My goal is not to become faster. I want to become technically excellent. I want smooth, repeatable cornering with proper vision, braking, body position, throttle control, and line selection. Speed can come later—if it comes at all.

If you had to coach someone from the ground up to become a truly skilled rider, what would your roadmap look like?

An amazing racing weekend! Managed a new personal best of 1:53.1 on my RS660! Took podium 6 out of 6 races, with four 1st places, one second, and one third! 450 SBK, Middle Weight Amateur and 600 Novice.
Was able to face off against a few moto America riders and had an amazing time battling with them!

I have a zx6r with Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 tires. Its 1mm in one spot and mostly 2mm overall. Im wondering if the tread is good enough for a couple and maybe 3 trackdays at intermediate pace? The images show the center wear, the sides have plenty left. Looks like the weather will be dry. I would appreciate greatly any feedback.

PMT rear slick. I was hoping to run it down to the cords but that ended up being sooner than expected. I walked and swept the track before riding and it was cleaner than ever. Could have been a stray rock I guess. This happened after my second session. It's just strange how there is no rubber. The wear dots are much deeper than this. Are PMT or mini tires in general super thin?

BTW, I'm all for banning, "How's my tire wear?" posts.

For anyone who’s trying to get their knee down(second photo, forced the knee down).

Don’t worry about getting down.
Practice your body position, slowly build the speed up and the lean angle will come naturally.

Build confidence, monitor your tire pressure and time on the track is all you need.

3rd trackday with the little SV, really becoming at one with the bike, it’s so much fun on a smaller/tighter track like knockhill.

Few things to work on on the next one but cut my PB down by 5 seconds so very successful day

I expect nothing less from large corporations, but after years of Trackdays I finally want to get something that fits me perfectly. I have looked into dainese but that is expensive. Are there any other options? I'm in the US

As the title says.

I think i have improved allot from first track days but i am still unable touching knee even though im doing same lap timers as people who are going knee deep left and right with slick tyres(im currently rocking rosso 4s)

I am trying to figure out what im lacking or doing wrong body wise.
I always try to turn my torso to the corner and „kiss the mirrors with my head”.

Doing the track daz Buttonwillow in a couple of weeks. Doing sessions on classic with the open addon for circuit.

Anything I should know before coming down from NorCal? Done track days up here.

If you had choice between a stock gsxr 750 or a track prepped sv650s, which would you take?

Does track daz typically have a suspension guy? If I bring the gsxr I would like some professional advice setting it up.
