Discussion Purple Lounge Cushions

Tom Lynskey’s “Steam and Splendor Network” released a video today on the remains of Titanic’s pianos. In the video, one of the speakers specifically points out that some digital recreations regarded as being “the most accurate in the world” are in fact faulty for the use of purple cushions instead of green in the first class lounge. I would pass this aside, but this seems like an intentional jab at THG (which has purple cushions) after Lynskey saying that THG wasn’t “real history” in one of his Titanic anniversary sinking live streams and other similar comments.

I harbor no hate to either THG, a first class digital museum, or Lynskey, who seems like a talented storyteller. I will say that both entities seem better since Lynskey’s split from heading the project. But I think there’s more to the story of the “amicable separation” that happened several years ago. I don’t think you’d see the antipathy towards THG if it was as smooth of a split as alluded to.

H&G is releasing a realistic lighting final plunge. It is not April Fools.

Discussion Songs in 2026 real time sinking

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could provide a list of all the period songs played during the 2026 real-time sinking? I am especially curious about the song played before and during the decent of Arthur Peuchen into boat 6.

Discussion On MacOS and Linux

Will TitanicHG ever be available on MacOS or Linux? I can't get Windows, but I can still run decently it on Linux with Wine and Steam. Will there be a native version for these operating systems?

Discussion How to actually see an update on the ship?!?

I go to their website... I click "updates".... I am brought to this page:

https://www.patreon.com/c/titanichg/posts

I struggle to see a single update here about the ship itself. I don't care about deckplans. I am getting tired of unrelated slop. Where is the ship? How is progress going?

Discussion Devs do a shit job of communicating

I've followed this game for years. I see that they occasionally do a Patreon post, and sometimes these are updates. Usually it's something like "we got this random light fixture modelled".

I get that this is cool for some enthusiasts, but what many of us want to fundamentally see is "where is the progress?".

I want to know what they modelled in the past and what their goals are in the future. Is progress actually being made? I shouldn't have to dig into some obscure Reddit, Discord, or Patreon post to find this answer.

Post monthly updates on the progress of the model of the ship as a whole. Not random individual fixtures. This seems like it should be common sense...

Discussion What's Going On?

I am not that up to date with what's going on with the project. I was briefly a patron and I played one of the earlier demos which I enjoyed but found pretty clunky to install and use.

But it seems like it's been years and years now and the project doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I watched an update video where it seems like they've scrapped the whole Titanic model they built and have instead built a shipyard, which doesn't seem very interesting compared to the actual ship. The video wasn't very clear and no timelines were given. Who wanted this?

Do they still plan to have a full sinking you can experience and NPCs on the boat? Are they rebuilding the whole project from scratch again? Doesn't seem likely the game will ever come out if that's the case.

I looked at the comments underneath the video and it seems like everyone has turned against the dev team, I couldn't find a single positive comment.

I am also hearing that there are other ocean liner games in development. Is it time to give up on H&G?

Discussion I understand that the alpha is so far early release…

But after looking at historical pictures of the real yard, I feel just like the interiors in that game…empty. Think we'll get the full juice of it when it comes out on Steam.

Discussion We've Finally Had the Chance to Play the Alpha Version. What Are Your Thoughts?

Excellent! Here's a short review: everything looks beautiful, and the ability to change the weather is a nice feature. To be honest, the shipyard itself is not that interesting to me, but it was still enjoyable to walk around the Olympic and see what she looked like during construction.

As for the downsides, the optimization could definitely be improved. I have a gaming PC, and while the game runs relatively well on high settings, there are occasional stutters and frame drops. I also tried recording gameplay, and the recording contains noticeable stuttering that I don't experience in other games. Overall, it's an interesting experience, but the optimization still needs some work.

Seems that one of most active posters here is “deleted”. Did the mods get rid of them or is it something else?

Discussion I wonder if THG could recreate scenes from the 1997 movie given their recent advancements in animation

The film’s 30th anniversary is next year and I think it would be wonderful if they recreated a scene or two.

Discussion Remember Simulator Mode?

It was a feature from the earliest stage of the game where you could play with Titanic, Olympic, Nomadic, and Carpathia. Would you have liked if the game had a feature like that?

The old website describes it like this: ““Simulator Mode” will allow the player to drive theTitanic through a series of levels or simply out on the open ocean. With the possibility of expanded content for later addition, we intend to explore the possibility of allowing the player to command additional ships related to the story of the Titanic including the Olympic, Nomadic, and Carpathia.”

Discussion So the alpha will get an update per month?

Depending on how big progress is on the construction of the ship, I predict that by the end of the year, the orlop deck or G-Deck will be completed or done midway.

But thanks to them, they were able to determine through a photograph by Father Brown that the windows in the First Class Dining Saloon were larger than those on Olympic.
