Visited 85C Bakery Cafe today for the first time. My friend and I are fairly adventurous eaters. All I remember from the sign where these were shelved was "Taro."

Looks kind of cakey with purple Taro cracklin on top. Served in a 6" pie tin. The cake portion is totally coffee cake, like US American standard grab a coffee cake off the shelf flavor and texture. Then there's the Taro cracklin on top, and inside is maybe sweet cheese? It's stretchy. Plus another more custardy filling. It's good! Just no idea what to call it, and more interested in what the two fillings are.

I checked their website and or course it's not listed. The strawberry matcha bun was listed. Got that too and reminded me a little bit of mochi though there's no rice in it at all.

I’d like to say to start these are my memories from when I was like 6 to 8 so the accuracy is gonna be as much as I can remember. Growing up my grandma would make these little grayish brownish balls I don’t remember what the flavor was it could’ve possibly been goat milk candy but I don’t remember. I asked her sister while ago and lost the recipe but pretty sure it had baking powder involved in the recipe but you’d throw all the ingredients together and roll balls out from it. I know this isn’t a lot to go off of and it’s a far reach to think anyone could go off of this little info and figure it out but I’d appreciate any help.

I’m looking for a snack cake I used to eat as a child in France, around 2003–2005. I’ve been searching for years, but I can’t find a single photo or mention of it online, and I’m starting to wonder if anyone else remembers it.
Here’s everything I remember:
It was sold in France.
It came in a multi-pack with individually wrapped cakes.
The individual wrappers were attached together by small glue dots/tabs (instead of being completely loose in the pack).
Each individual wrapper featured a different Disney Princess (I remember the classic princesses like Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, etc.).
The cakes were rectangular, similar in size to a Kinder Délice.
I think they had a milk cream filling, but I’m not 100% sure.
I also vaguely remember the packaging being colorful.
Things I’m not sure about:
I don’t remember the brand.
I don’t know if they were covered in chocolate or not.
They may have been a limited edition or a licensed Disney product.
I’ve searched Google Images, old supermarket catalogues, Reddit, and even archive websites without finding anything.
Does anyone else remember these? Even if you don’t know the brand, I’d love to know if someone else remembers eating them. If you have a picture, an old catalogue, or any clue at all, I’d really appreciate it!

hello everyone! i am asking for help identifying a kind of candy i had while in Ensenada on a cruise. it looked very similar to the photo attached. I have searched far and wide and have found nothing that compares. the best way i can describe it is dried pineapple DRENCHED in some sort of syrup or sugary coating. It was gooey, sweet, and the slightest bit crunchy on the outside. it was literally heaven in my mouth i would do anything to have more. i’ve tried dried pineapple candies (the little cubed ones) and they are close in texture, but not half as sweet or delicious. we bought the candy in a candy store on an excursion, and it was advertised as full pineapple rings but sold in small pieces in a blue bag iirc. if someone could provide me with a name of the candy, a recipe, or a link to where i can buy it i would be so very grateful. thank you.

Hi y’all, I just got back from Japan and had the best little sweet treat I’ve ever had. It was sweet potato flavored but it had the texture of cheesecake. It was like 6-8 individually wrapped in a cupcake liner type thing.

I went to a Ukranian restaurant a while ago and I've been trying to figure out what the buckwheat here was served with. I know it was incredibly tasty. The restaurant closed so I also didn't get to have it again.

Looking at the menu, it might either be braised pork in a dark beer sauce or some type of goulash. Maybe its something else entirely.

I would appreciate figuring out what exactly it is so I can make it myself.

Back in the 90's my grandma always used to have a cracker/cookie type snack. I remember calling it kichel or kitchel, we used to find it by the Italian cookies(like Stella D'oro) in the grocery store. It was a small, maybe 1-2inch rectangle, curved like when it was cooked the corners lifted up. It was a somewhat puffy, slightly odd texture, delicious snack that I haven't been able to find in probably 2 decades. I'm not sure if it's the same thing as Jewish egg kichel or not. Does anyone remember this? Any idea who exactly made it? Or know a recipe to make it?

Like, as in a sweet pastry that has the archetypal flaky texture of a croissant or danish, but full of buttercream icing and round sprinkles. They are bite sized and not shaped like croissants.

Its a small butter yellow powder tablet candy that looks like a round pill,and it tastes faintly of lemons or another flavour and is sweet, I used to eat it in the bronx when my grandmother gave it to me when I was younger. The candy is smooth, shiny, kind of like those small candy bananas and a smartie mixed together. please if anyone knows what im talking about let me know.

6 months ago I made a post asking what this food was, to no success. Somehow this is still the only photo I have of it. I remember that the English label when I bought it said "vegetarian chicken" and that it had the Sichuan numbing taste, was sweet, very sticky and had sesame seeds on it. I also seem to be convinced that one of the ingredients was maltose syrup.

It is not BBQ dough, beancurd skin, or any sort of soy product, as I firmly remember it was made from wheat gluten. It is also not latiao, which seems to be the only snack that comes up when I search "wheat gluten snack". It is also not vegetarian duck, which is similar to what the English label said but looks completely different.

Another matter that complicates things is that I think this was some kind of unlicensed product, as the packaging appears to emulate the Weilong Delicious logo, who do make spicy snacks but do not sell what I am looking for. (trust me, I've checked)

Does anyone know the name of this frozen, grape-flavoured treat from the early 2000's (and perhaps before) available in Canada? They came individually-wrapped. The outside of this treat had a crisp, shell-like frozen coating. When you bit into the treat, it had a creamy, grape-flavoured filling (a cross between sherbet and ice cream).

No one else remembers this, so I'd appreciate any leads.

ETA: other people remember it, but none of us can find any records proving its existence. Here are some comments on a Facebook post about this treat (thank you u/left4alive for sharing this post):

My daycare used to have individually wrapped pink & yellow marshmallow bunnies you got as your parents picked you up for the day and I have never been able to find anything similar. The pink bunny was in pink plastic wrapping, and the yellow was in yellow plastic. Yellow had a lemon taste, pink was probably strawberry or something. Most similar in texture to circus peanuts, and it is NOT the Spangler marshmallow bunnies, chicks, and eggs that come out at Easter (although I’d hoped those would be similar). Does anyone have ANY idea what these were??

I bought this spice years ago and I like a dummy threw away the package and thus name of it. I love it and I’m running out quick so I now use it sparingly. I bought it from an African grocery store in a city I use to live in and since the store has closed and I’ve moved to a city which is limited in other ethnic grocery stores.
It’s earthy, it’s Smokey, and it’s spicy.

They serve this spicy cabbage as a free starter at my local Chinese restaurant. It isn’t fermented like kimchee; the cabbage tastes fresh. It’s a bit spicy and served cold. It’s just listed as “special house cabbage” and I’ve struggled to find a recipe/ origin of the dish

Hi!! I'm not sure if this is the right place to come to (already tried tip of my tongue) but I'd really like to find out what this specific candy, or candy container was from my childhood. I just want to find a picture or something so I can fully remember it. I live in Australia, WA to be specific, I have no idea if this candy was made exclusively here or not but I thought clarifying might help.

It was in a mostly clear tube, with plastic seperating it vertically into 4 sections (so if you looked from the top you'd see an x). It was similar to certain sprinkle containers that separate the colours in that way, I think the lid also worked in the same way, being black and being able to flap up to open each section so the candy inside wouldn't mix. On the outside of the tube there were printed pictures of a different mario character for each section. I know Mario and Luigi were definitely there, but the other two I'm less sure of. They were definitely Mario characters though, and I'm pretty sure none of the princesses were there. I'm unsure if the top of the container had anything special on it because I have seen similar candy tubes like that, so I don't know if it's a memory or just me thinking of what it could be based on what ive seen online that I know is not it.

On the inside each section had a different coloured and flavoured candy. I don't remember what they were because I was very young but I am certain that one was bright red and cherry flavoured because I hated it. I'm also fairly sure one of the other colours may have been green. The other two I'm less sure of, possibly yellow and a purply blue? Those colours make me think potentially the other two characters were wario and waluigi, but I really liked waluigi as a child and have no memory of that at all so I'm sure it wasn't either of them on it. I'm pretty sure the art of the characters was their 3D designs at the time. Another character I thought could have been there was Yoshi, but again I have no real distinct memory of it so I'm unsure. The candy itself was similar to nerds, small hard candy, all odd shaped if that makes sense.

I know it isn't something that could have been bought online because my family did not have internet at all at the time, so it would have had to have been bought in person somewhere or with something.

Sorry this is so long but I really want to see it again just because it is such a strangely vivid yet lost memory of mine. Any help would be appreciated!!

also, another thing, i have no idea if it was an official thing or bootleg or where it even came from. It would have had to be some in person store in WA, unsure if it came with anything else or was won as a prize maybe at an arcade? or like a showbag? Ive scoured the internet and have no idea at all, just trying to throw out some other ideas that might help.
