Thoughts on Wearing a red SnapBack in the big 26?

Bought this hat on a whim out of “necessity” and found to like the look and the fit. Didn’t think much about it until my partner mentioned it was like a Donny hat. Still wearable or rather not? For reference I’m not American nor live on the American continent so take that as you will

I hate the look of stretch infused chinos and jeans but unfortunately seem to be restricted to them for a time due to a medical circumstance. What options will tank my vibes the least?

Upvotes

So long story short I have a weird situation that makes 100% cotton pants extremely uncomfortable to wear. My high rise straight cut chinos and raw denim and sitting sadly unworn on my shelf while I wear the same BR rapid movement chinos every day. I primarily need chinos and jeans for the office and daily stompin. The worst part is that the target demographic of pants with 1-2% stretch material is people who (imo) don’t have a great sense of fashion. The best options I’ve been eyeing so far are Flint and Tinder 365 chinos (classic fit seems to be the best their fit gets, the rest is Lumineers slim slop) and maybe some styles of N&F for denim. Any suggestions, inputs, words of advice?

  1. Overshirts with side entry pockets
  2. Tapered trousers
  3. Those sleeveless suit jackets blokes seem to have started wearing again
  4. Meaningless graphic tees
  5. 3/4 length pants
  6. “Made in Portugal” merchants
  7. Weirdly short shorts like the ones Bryceland’s make
  8. The majority of Selvedge denim fits
  9. SL Man
  10. The “HMP” tag Corteiz puts on all their stuff
  11. Whatever tf thesecondbutton is wearing right now

Is it just me or are polos shitty?

All the polos on the market look like you work at Best Buy, you’re a European model, or you’re golfing

Im a shorter guy too and these shits are always so tight, too long, and make me look like a nark.

What’s up with the polo game in the industry right now? I feel like NOBODY is making decent polos. Every other type of shirt has hit a good stride but polos are good-proof

Guilty Pleasure Brands/Buys

Do you guys have any brands or specific buys that you enjoyed but feel somewhat guilty about buying and supporting because you have some objection to the brand, creator, origin, material, product association? For instance, I constantly see hate thrown around for the instagram brand poolhouse ny. I personally dislike many aspects of the brand, from annoying and cringe branding, to the name (they are based out of LA…), to the price. Credit where credit is due, they designed the shit out of some of their shirts and that said, some of their clothing fits me and my body type like a charm and so I find myself keeping track of certain releases. Are there any brands or products you feel the same about?

What's on your feet?

Just got back from NYC and it made me realize that what is trending online isn't always what’s actually on peoples feet.
What are well dressed people wearing where you live? Better yet, whats on you feet?

Affordable Japanese brands

I can't keep up with Auralee and A.presse. I'm aware of Kanemasa Phil, Ciota, SStein, Batoner, Whitesville. Is there something like the Real McCoy's, Engineered Garments, Orslow, Comoli, etc that's mid range? Open to new experimental or basics, thanks. (Yes I know about Japanese proxy websites) Max price I'm looking for about 250 USD per piece which eliminates brands like Graphpaper.

Anyone with a 34” inseam wear the Uniqlo linen pants? They’re only a 32” but someone still recommended them. Can anyone confirm?

Anyone have experience with these shoes or the brand in general? I really like the silhouette of these specifically and some of the others but would like to know if how comfortable they are / how sturdy they are / if they’re true to size etc.

Thanks in advance!

PoolHouseNY similar fits

Hi everyone! So I’ve seen multiple people complaining about PH NY. Back in Jan I ordered 1 tee to check fit, loved it so much that I ordered 1 more and 2 polos which also fit great on me. Mind you that I had not researched much before purchasing.

Scrolling through reddit I started seeing the complaints. So is there another brand that I could buy a very similar fit for another price point? I’d love to spend less on these like damn $105 for a polo.

Chunky mocs with narrow trouser cuts?

Love my wallabees but they are hopeless in dirty weather. When it gets cold and wet underfoot, I'll go for a leather boot. So I'm looking something halfway like a leather moc toe.

Been saying for the past few years I'm going to grab a pair of Michaels or Padrors. All the fits I've seen have paired them with a fuller cut jeans and it looks great. Problem is, I'm usually in a pair of 13MWZ's or 501's in that 8" leg opening territory

Anyone managed to pull these off with straight cut's or is it worth looking at similar profile with less chunk?

Best Retail Practice

Running my own store in London and looking for inspo. Does anyone have any particular good examples of retail practices that stood out and made a store memorable? Like a great shopping bag with purchase? Or even packaging you received an item in? Thanks :)

Tailor in NY (Nassau County and Queens) that you trust to hem a pair of high-end denim?

Just bought a pair of Orslow ecru denim. I love them, but I want to hem them and am concerned to take them to a local Mom and pop tailor shop. I want them to preserve the hem as original as possible and keep the salvage ID of course. Are there any places you guys who are local to Nassau County New York or Queens Recommend to do such a job without ruining the pants?

Once you start checking fabric composition shopping gets annoying

I used to just buy things if they looked good, now I check fabric before price and it ruins half the stuff I like. So many pieces are priced like “elevated basics” but then it’s polyester or some weird blend that doesn’t feel worth it. Are you all checking fabric labels first now or does fit or design matter more to you than the material? Im based on UK mid 30sF.

Specifically the way it stacks on the shoes. I like that it’s not overly baggy or too flared. Was thinking 517s?

How do I get started in the fashion tech industry?

Hi!! I'm a computer science student (starting my 3rd year) with a big interest in the fashion industry (mainly runways, magazines, etc...)
I've built an online fashion magazine website but I don't have any other fashion-related projects. I've tried looking on LinkedIn, Indeed, or any job posting platforms but I've never been able to find tech-specific roles. Are there any specific keywords I should use? Or specific companies, platforms, just anything....
I just need a starting point to understand what specific roles that exists in the fashion-tech industry to help me get an idea of other projects I'll be doing
