Started working on a children's museum bc I realized there's not that many fun places for parents to take their kids! 😊

So far I've started on the indoor playground, the dino exhibits, aquarium, and nature/crafts area. Also planning on a dedicated infants room for the littlest ones and a food court up top w/ outdoor seating.

i do a lot of mid-century modern builds and want to share more, but they look funky from the roof glitch with floors/platforms right now. hoping this is fixed in the next update 🙏

The title is pretty self-explanatory, but I was wondering if anyone else has used The Sims as a resource to create locations from their story so they can visualize them better.

I found myself struggling to remember how certain buildings and locations were laid out, so I started recreating some of the main settings in The Sims to use as visual references. I've been doing the same thing with my characters as well, just to have a clearer image to work from while writing.

I've been working on a pretty cool build though, and I love being able to put all the little details into everything and make it feel alive. :)

first floor has a patio, cafe, staff kitchen, washrooms, and a bright culinary school classroom. the second floor can be set to residential or employees only, and offers an airy bachelor apartment space (minus the kitchen since there is a lot of kitchen downstairs), complete with a private patio overlooking the entry. i've been playing out of here for the last few days and it's fully functional, and a fun place to work (and live)!

ps when you host cooking or gourmet cooking classes, the attendees will cook in the space, and you can actually grab their creations and sell them in the shop :')

you can find it on the gallery by searching "bakery and cooking school", and it was designed for the "comfortably canalside" lot in nordhaven. hope someone gets some play out of this lot! if you want to solely visit it as a community lot in your save, you could make a new household and assign the sim(s) to be the owner of that small business

After months, this project is finally finished. This project began with me just wanting to recreate the iconic Haas-Lilienthal Queen Anne Victorian (Landmark 69) home in San Francisco. I literally spent weeks studying the floor plan, going through public documents, and even getting zoning information. I soon realized this house stood out like a sore thumb stand alone, so it needed 3 other contenders. The only other house that is copied from a real life home is Lot 4- the Sloss-Lilienthal House (Landmark 55). The Streamline Modern and Brutalist home had loose inspiration but we're original builds for the most part.

Lot 1: Dobule Lot (16 tiles wide) Queen Anne Victorian Replicated from Haas-Lilienthal with about 90% accuracy. Interior design is intellectual maximalism. 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom.

Lot 2: Single Lot (8 tiles wide) Streamline Modern. Interior design is art deco. 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom.

Lot 3: Single Lot (8 tiles wide) Brutalist. Interior design is minimalistic brutalism. 5 bath, 3 bedroom.

Lot 4: Double Lot (16 tiles wide) Italianete Victorian. Interior design is traditional Victorian. 4 bedroom, 5 bath. Attic and Basement left empty for player to decorate.

The interior needs some work. I got lazy and put brown paneling everywhere.

I’m trying to build a pagoda as the central spotlight on a tiny hill for my small fantasy town with base game only... Still trying to balance the overall vibe of the town and looking for improvement.

As part of my San Seqouia townhomes (which I will upload once all 4 homes are decorated), this one is the Italianette Victorian home I am working on. The build is directly based on 1818 California St, San Francisco. The idea of decorating this giant build was daunting at first, but its been fun!

During this era, people showcased their wealth via imported goods and furniture. Travel was beginning to become more accessible (steam railways), and traveling meant you had money. Everything from wallpapers, paint, furniture, etc., were either acquired by travel or imported. Additionally, Victorian homes had massively high ceilings. To help breakup the height, as well as trap in smoke and ash, wallpaper, woods, and textiles helped with all of this- all while being fashionable. Also, horror vacui- latin for filling every surface possible- was all the rage!

I see a lot of people hold back when decorating Victorian homes. What helps me is putting myself in the shoes of someone from that era. If I had that much money, what would I have bought? Where would I have gone? What do I value? Don't pigeonhold yourself to only selecting Queen Anne furniture.

I cant wait to upload these townhomes when complete! When you get into it, every single design choice- interior and exterior- usually has a purpose or a story. Its so fascinating when you unpack and question your environment.

I love doing Scandinavian-inspired builds and just created my first gym. It's on a 30x30 lot.

Scandi Athletic Club is a modern Scandinavian-inspired gym designed to feel more like a boutique wellness club than a traditional fitness center.

I wanted it to feel like a mix of Equinox, a Nordic spa, and a neighborhood social club where Sims could spend the entire day.

It's available on the Gallery as "Scandi Athletic Club".

Placed on the 30x20 lot, 5 Cobblebottom Street. I originally built this a while back when I came across a video tour of a countryside house in Oxfordshire. I replicated several of the key boutique interiors as best I could and took a few creative liberties along the way. My favorite bits were the bold tiles in the entry, which were original to the building (my closest alternatives were the tiles from For Rent). Loved the bolder choices throughout the interiors and the mix of old and new. There were a few things I wouldn't normally choose, so it was nice to play around with this one. Hope you enjoy!

Located in Del Sol Valley, on the Vacuous Green lot, this retail lot features an art studio, a fashion boutique, and a record store. This started out as a home business, but as it grew, it eventually had to become a full-fledged retail business. Gallery ID: hrtank70

I kinda avoid the base game neighbourhoods because I don't like the buildings, so I thought that maybe redoing them would change that. The wiki says that Willow Creek's architecture is French-inspired and I tried to stick to that, but made it slightly grander lol

I tried to keep the decorations minimal since this is a community lot and it might be too much when there's also 20-30 sims moving about. Also, anyone who can guess the real life inspiration gets a grilled cheese sandwich. 😁
