The Patch is OUT!
We have a TON of helpful Simmers here but take the time to read before posting/commenting.
NOTE FOR NEWBIES: You cannot simply replace the mod file with the same file for a fix. If it needs to be updated, you must wait for the updated version. Once available, remove the old one, delete cache and repair game.
As with every EA update, mods and cc are going to break. Please give mod creators time to check and clear/update their mods.
Take the time to learn how to fix your game. "What's causing this" posts will be removed. Use the troubleshooting megathread. This thread can help you sort out which mods are broken so you can take them out but simmers cannot fix anything for you, you will need to wait for updates.
Simmers, please check the troubleshooting thread to help out others.
If your post is removed, read the pinned automod comment for help or what to do if it was removed incorrectly.
NEW: Frequently Posted Issues thread here -- this thread was previously a part of the troubleshooting thread but it took a lot of space so it was separated.
The subreddit tends to get an influx of I hate these updates, be nice to mod creators or meme posts after a patch. Double check to see if one has already been posted. Do not derail those posts by asking for troubleshooting help.
Follow your favorite creators to keep track of updates: discord, twitter, bluesky, patreon (free), Lumpinou's modhound or see mod lists below. Any of these posts will be removed.
SimsAfterDark Discord -- mod status channel available
DeaderPool's Discord -- mod status channel available
Support channels in SimsAfterDark and DeaderPool’s discords often CLOSE post-patch for a short period of time as there are no solutions but to wait for mods to update and they get flooded with help questions just like all the sims subreddits including ours. However, they have mod status channels so you can get mod status updates.
Remember, even mods that never everrrrrrrrrr break or CC can cause issues. UI can be broken even if the mod(s) are not UI-related. These patches can break anything.
REMINDER: When posting in the megathread, do not say "I've tried everything" as that means something different to every simmer, be specific. Read the post, follow the instructions and leave a comment if you still need help. Failure to provide details may result in no response to your comment. 👩💻
Game bug or mod⁉️⁉️ Take out your mod folder (and leave it out for the test) delete cache and repair then check to find out then you'll have your answer. DO NOT SAVE YOUR CURRENT GAME WITHOUT YOUR MODS.

Hi! I created a small buff replacement trait. When thunderstorms happen, sims with this trait won’t become scared. They will become inspired and receive a boost to creative skills!

Sharing a project I've been building for a while. Honest answer to "don't mod managers already exist": they do, but each one covers a single game, and I rotate between all four Sims games. I wanted my entire mod collection, every game, in one place, so I built exactly that.
It's a desktop app that scans your Mods folder and turns it into a searchable library. Disabling a mod just adds a .disabled suffix so the game skips it, which means testing "is this mod breaking my game" no longer involves moving files to your desktop and back. It also finds your Mods folder even if Documents lives on OneDrive or another drive, and shows stats like how many mods are enabled or conflicting.
This is an early release so I fully expect bugs. Reports and feature ideas are very welcome, there's an issue tracker on the repo.

Hey! I made a small utility mod called Sim Cleanup Utility that lets you quickly send away Sims from your lot or permanently delete them from your save. Instead of removing them one by one, you can use the in-game picker to select multiple Sims at once (max 50).
Get it on:

Does anyone know of a savefile which has the environment in Newcrest improved/objects added to make it more realistic/interactive?
I would like to replace some/all lots with ones from different creators, but I really want it to look realistic and lived-in, with things like telephone poles, bus stops, spots where Sims can sit and chat, more trees, playgrounds where normally there's just grass, things like that.
I am not nearly experienced enough in T.O.O.L. usage to do something like that myself, so I thought I'd ask here.
I imagined something with this vibe from a previous post I made, but just about anything would help.
Thanks in advance!
[Edit: sorry for posting twice accidentally, my Reddit glitched and I thought it hadn't posted, I deleted the duplicate]

I tried this a year ago and couldn't figure out how to do it. But the idea is to just unlock all of the normal human CAS in the werewolf form so that I can play out characters who have "evil" transformation powers. Additionally, since the human CAS werewolf form doesn't use CC, it should still work the same after the mod is uninstalled (that's just a theory though).

Mostly looking for Goth, Grunge, and Vkei clothing for male sims. It's proving hard to find much especially since a lot is catered to female sims. I'd rlly love some help!

I don't have a forever save and I don't do legacy gameplay. I make my sims, play through their lives and stories, and then I move on. New game, new sims, new story. I save lots to the gallery and plop them back down. Townies I've made are imported. I just start over. But the major thing I haven't worked out is my custom holidays. It gets tiring to add them back every single time. Are there any mods or tools or settings to edit the default calendar so I can have my custom holidays scheduled when I start new games?

It was in the toys section for kids and when placed it just appears as a green action figure.

When my sims have the handiness skill, there isn't much for them to work on other than broken appliances and the craft table. I want to find a mod that adds more objects to upgrade/make? Like a robot, computer, engine, etc. I genuinely find myself purposely breaking toilets so that my handy sims can have something to do😭

You might not know this, but you can use MCCC to control how the game generates outfits for new NPC Sims. What you need to do is change these settings by clicking on a computer:
The problem is that for this to work well, you need a pretty diverse mc_dresser.cfg file. It's a text file listing saved outfits that MCCC can use. The second problem is that creating a big dresser file is a pain because you have to save every single outfit manually. When you're doing that for hundreds of outfits, it can be very tedious and time-consuming.
There are some creators like Tiasha, Authorspirit, and simslegacy5083 (and many others) who have uploaded their dresser files, so you don't need to build your own. The issue with that is they are not tailored to your game, so they might use CC and DLCs you do not own. That leads to some NPCs walking around without clothes. You could use a dresser file that only has BG items, but that can look a bit bland, right?
(Ad) If you want to follow the DIY road, the Helper for MCCC Dresser File Config is a must-have. It saves ALL outfits from ALL household members with a single command! It makes the process MUCH faster.
It even includes slots. So in a household that has 8 sims, you can save up to 320 outfits at once! Increase the household size (MCCC Settings → Gameplay Settings → Maximum Household Size) and maybe you can config your whole dresser file with just one command!

Just a moment ago I found a mod that overrides facial expressions. It's brand new , works instantly while still keeping expressions and movements, tho less intense and comical.
Here is the link to the Patreon post, where it is free to download: https://www.patreon.com/melunn/posts/calmer-reactions-162621842
I hope someone who needs it find this posts :)

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a mod similar to Enlist in War. I mainly used it for my Decades Challenge.
What I really loved about it wasn't the war gameplay itself, but the random outcome. I could send a Sim off to war through a rabbit hole, and there was a 50% chance they would return alive and a 50% chance they would die. I loved not having control over the outcome because it made the story feel more realistic and added an element of randomness to my gameplay.
Unfortunately, the mod is no longer being updated, so I'm looking for an alternative.
Does anyone know of a mod that does something similar? It doesn't have to be war-related. I'm really just looking for a mod that sends a Sim away for a while and randomly decides whether they come back alive or not.
Thanks in advance!

hey guys I'm looking for a mod that notifies me on the conversations happening in the household. I have a large household so it's tiring having to constantly pause so I can see what's happening.
Notifications like: "X Sim and Y Sim are flirting! X Sim and Y Sim are having a fight! X Sim and Y Sim are woohooing!
Usually the game notifies when it's happening for the first time, but I want notifications everytime it happens in the household, since my gameplay is fully autonomous.
Anyone know any mods related to this?

There's a new utilities mod called ModCrab that seems similar to MCCC, as it gives you control over the management your sims' general selves. However, this one says it can also make gameplay more impactful through giving more "emotional weight" to sims' actions.
It looks pretty cool, but I haven't seen much mention of it (and I'm already seeing the creators using AI for their covers, which gives me pause). Has anyone been using it and have a review? Thank you!

Someone should make a "Canva for Sims 4 CC" — a beginner-friendly tool for making shirts, posters, and wall art
I love creating custom worlds in The Sims 4, but one thing that always surprises me is how complicated it is to make simple custom content like a shirt with a logo, a poster, or a painting.
Sims 4 Studio is amazing, but it feels like a tool made for experienced creators. For someone who just wants to make their own designs, the process becomes:
The package part is actually easy. The frustrating part is the image editing.
I wish someone would create a program specifically designed for Sims 4 recolors that works more like Canva:
Imagine being able to easily make:
A lot of players have creative ideas but get stopped by the technical barrier. Not everyone wants to learn Photoshop or become a CC creator — they just want to add their own personal touches to their game.
Maybe someone with programming skills will see this someday and make something like a "Sims 4 CC Designer."
Would anyone else use a program like this?
