The Doug Stanton arc drives me up the wall because Jackson keeps saying he’s going to play it cool and just observe, and then immediately does the exact opposite. Every time he tells Grey that he’ll be subtle, he walks right back out there and confronts Stanton head‑on the moment something sketchy happens. It’s like he can’t help himself. He keeps blowing his own cover, reacting emotionally, and basically announcing that he’s investigating Stanton before he even has anything solid. The worst part is that he knows he’s supposed to be quiet and patient — he says it out loud — and then he escalates anyway. Watching him promise subtlety and then torch the plan five minutes later is honestly more stressful than Stanton himself. It makes the whole storyline feel less like an undercover observation and more like watching someone try to do IA work with zero IA instincts. Jackson’s heart is in the right place, but he’s way too reactive for the kind of slow, quiet case‑building the situation actually needed, and the arc ends up being frustrating because you can see him sabotaging himself in real time.

I’m watching the episode now where they solve the case of her kidnapped sister. I love that they had Joel (kidnapper) not being some sad sack who lost his daughter in a horrible accident and is traumatized and not in his right mind. Instead, they say he lost custody of his daughter. That makes it impossible to sympathize with him, because as a cop losing full and complete custody of your kid foreshadows that he is in fact a terrible person in all aspects and never actually cared about his daughter, just his narcissistic want to be seen as a father again.

Usually shows do the thing where the killer is just a damaged person with a horribly sad past, but this show rarely does that. Some of the killers are just killers because they’re terrible people.

Like the light hearted ones like Kelly Clarkson in the lift or American Idol or Angela and Nolan and the bees.

Okay so I just finished episode 6 season 7 and if you've watched the show you know what I'm talking about. I have always been a fan of Bailey and thought she and Nolan worked together really well, but the way she got mad at him and doubled-down at the end of the episode was completely unreasonable.

I wanna clarify that I 100% understand why she did what she did and I am not even against it, it makes sense from her POV and I think this was the best solution long term. Morally I agree but factually she committed a crime and not a small one.

Considering Nolan is kind of a paragon of morals and honesty, I think he confronted her in a very reasonable way, and for her to crash out at him like that left such a bitter taste in my mouth. And if it was just that I could just accept it you know she's upset that makes sense, but to double-down 2 more times was just too much.

Again I am not against what she did but Nolan did not deserve any flak, she knows he would be conflicted considering previous stated point and she still tried to hide it and pretend like it never happened.

That's about all I just needed to vent about this for a bit because it really frustrated me and made me dislike Bailey quite a bit

I've seen lots of ideas about how the rescue of Tim and Lucy should go, and maybe my eureka moment has already been had by someone but it would be sooooo cool.

Obviously Lopez works the hardest to find her bestie.

I've recently started watching this amazing show and I'm loving it so far. Day of death is a 10/10 episode but I can't help but ask why the crew didn't just look at the CCTV footage of Caleb to confirm he's the one that took Lucy.

Recycle the episode Under the Gun (S2E18) and instead of a scared straight program for juvenile offenders. Nolan and Lopez accompany a group of young honor roll students who are college bound on a "police explorers" program to encourage them to go into a career of law enforcement. Harper calls rhem boy scoots on a curated tour taling the lowest level of calls

For one we need more Nolan and Lopez, and I can see Nolan telling the students about how it's one way they can serve their city. As Noaln insists on taking low risk calls to keep the experience as tame as possible, only taking high risk calls if it's necessary.

I can also see Lopez seeing Nolan shielding the students from the more dangerous side of police work and wants to take high risk felony calls with the explorers and give the students an more unfiltered side of policing that police explorers do not cover and have the explorers watch either from the car or at the scene about the more... dangerous side of police work telling the students that police officer have to face dangerous situations at times. Not that she wants to scare them off but give them the real, unfiltered, and very raw truth of police work.

B plot should involve Lucy given temporary T.O for status so Miles can finish up and well, we see Chen's T.O Style having underwent some development from her experience from training Seth.

Another B plot would piar up Lucy and Harper where Harper helps Lucy get over her ordeal. Plus it would be akward for a detective to be like mentoring a sergeant

In short, the Rookie never had an episode about the police exploroer program. So this would be a first. I mean we already got hints of civilan ride alongs so this would make a great episode,

I genuinely liked all of the documentaries up until this one. I just feel like it had nothing to do with the actual storyline of the characters. I also don’t remember when Abigail and Henry broke up, and felt like it didn’t get mentioned until this point. I feel like the other documentaries like the one about Aaron and the dim and juicy one were relevant to the characters’ development and I found pretty funny. But this one just didn’t hit for me. Let me know what you think about this one.

When Grey, Bradford and West are on full-dress ribbons, I noticed Grey's ribbons.

If I remember correctly, Grey had 25 years in the LAPD, as of 2019. How is that he's wearing a ribbon from 1984? And another from 1987? Slow promotion? Production slip, I guess?
