This happened like half an hour ago and I just had to share it lol

(Added spoiler tags on the subject of the scene itself just in case)

While watching the emergency c-section scene in the season 2 finale, I begin to feel hot, light-headed, sick to my stomach, etc. I foolishly decide to get up and try to go the bathroom. I excuse myself and make it to the door. The next thing I remember is laying on the ground, drenched in sweat, going "I'm fine!" with my folks standing around me more worried than I've ever seen. I apparently hit my head on the floor, though thankfully it doesn't hurt much at all.

Now I'm sitting here, mostly feeling embarrassed and awful for worrying my folks so much like that, and I'm just thinking: "Did I just have a fucking panic attack because of that emergency c-section scene?"

I should also mention, this is not the first time that pregnancy/birth/baby/etc. based medical stuff has given me (assumedly) a panic attack.

Years ago in a college class we started talking about abortion or something and showing photos of fetuses and whatnot, I don't fully remember the specifics. But I do remember feeling similar feelings and having to get up and excuse myself. I made it to the bathroom, which was at the end of the hall, but I kept walking past it and bumped right into the wall lol I did not fully pass out that time and was fine after rinsing my face with water, but it immediately sprang to mind afterwards as a similar incident.

Maybe I just have some weird disposition/sensitivity to pregnancy-based medical trauma/emergencies/etc ??? I welcome any thoughts lol

Anyway, shoutout to this show for literally giving me a panic attack and causing me to pass out. 10/10 would highly recommend, can't wait for season 3.

I mean, he makes money and these days, there are much easier ways - behind a laptop even, to get such not so heavy medications. Why the hell would he take the risk to get caught?

On top of that: doctors don't give medication, nurses do. And when you get medication - in the ER no less, its usually a one dose thing that most of the time, the nurse usually checks whether you take that or not. How the hell did Langdon get on a structural medication outlet? Evenso, couldv easely make a double prescription, give the patinet what he wants and pays, and take the extra? Because even if took the patinet meds, that would show up on the invoices? If I was a patient, and I see the invoice, for meds I didnt get, I would call insurance and they would start an investigation. He took an awful big risk. I really find that whole premise a far fetched one.

After hearing about how good this show is for a while now I finally jumped in and yeah, it’s pretty incredible. As someone that’s never watched a hospital drama or ER type show this completely captivated me. Both seasons were phenomenal, but I think I prefer season 1 a tad more. Not for any quality reasons as both were top notch, I just enjoyed the characters a bit more. Season 2 everyone is so miserable except maybe Whitaker. I get it though, they’re working through their arcs. Just gotta see how it all plays out in Season 3 and I’m super excited.

I did love the Season 2 finale maybe more than the first one though. The way it ended with Dr. Robby’s “final” meeting with everyone and his moment with baby Jane Doe at the end was so perfect.

To end I’ll say my top 3 characters are without a doubt Mel, Samira and Whitaker. Everyone is a joy on screen though, even Joy herself hehe. I could literally just watch them do doctor stuff all day and never get bored. They definitely got a new fan in me.

**1) Whitaker and Langdon's fight:**

Honestly Whitakers crash out was valid considering Langdon had already made an impression to be authoritative in front of everyone and it was only his first day back. Whitaker hadnt even interacted enough with Langdon that day. Especially considering he apologized to Langdon later on. Had it been Santos, McKay Javadi or maybe be wouldn't have had an outburst.

**2) Roxie and McKay:**

Robby scolding McKay for being there at the time of Roxy's death was invalid. Roxy was not critically ill, she was already dying, even if McKay was there, she could've only announced the time of death. She was literally on duty and was also on street team. The girl at the park was critically injured who McKay treated. Anyone saying "She should've at least informed Robby" no, it was simply her job, Robby would've gotten mad even if she didn't fulfill her street team responsibility seriously that guy needed therapy. McKay genuinely did everything she could for Roxy and her family to the point she even went to comfort her son's. Even then McKay felt bad. Robby was overreacting like McKay was chilling at McDonald's while Roxy died asking for help 😭🙏. She had Javadi and Robby there at the time of death.

**3) Mohan's character:**

Mohan was genuinely a great doctor. Along with being skilled she ensured every patients comfort and made them feel important. Did she do well for the ED? Maybe she wasn't for the ED and would've done better in any other department. Robby was right to tell her to separate her work life from her personal life. But her mom was genuinely so intolerable. Literally spamming her calls during work hours, asking her to move to New Jersey like her career's a joke and then selling the house and so much more. I mean she was young with no one to rely on and had a panic attack.

**4) Dr. Al Hashimi:**

Sorry but Al-Hashimi was not exactly nice .Bro was genuinely so feisty😭😭 and her plans kept backfiring. 😭 She was literally so wrong to not tell Robby about the cyber attack precautions meeting. Also the way she suddenly started treating Langdon differently after knowing the truth was literally invalid and straight up mean. 💀💀

**5) Mel and Becca**

Mel literally devoted most of her time outside the hospital to Becca and tried her best to keep her happy. Becca suddenly throwing Mel away was not nice. Maybe Mel was hard on Becca but she apologized right after. The realization that hit Mel was pretty sad considering she was already going through the stress of her deposition.

**6) Santos and Langdon:**

I get that Langdon faced his punishment, but Santos was not pushing it. Langdon was genuinely so mean to Santos in season 1 as if he and Garcia had literally targeted her from her on her first day. Even when He came back from therapy in season 2 Santos hadn't snitched to anyone in the meantime and kept it a secret even though people had dubbed her as trouble. Calling him an asshole Infront of Whitaker might've only been a wording problem even though it was wrong. Langdon screaming at her Infront of the whole ED was an unnecessary outburst and Santos was valid to be mad at Langdon for it. Even then instead of exacting some sort of revenge on Langdon when he came back, she simply just avoided him.

**7) Joy:**

Literal baddie. She was genuinely so smart 😭😭 the whole ED depended on her photographic memory as soon as all the devices went off. And leaving as soon as her shift ended was the smartest move or she would've been stuck for another 2hrs. Joy was also so quick to react when Mohan was having a panic attack, she literally belonged in the ED.

I have to say it was a really nice show, but s2 became a bit too stereotype. The awkward, scared as shit med students and junior residents getting way more confidence in s2 didn't do the show good and it became more and more predictable. S1 having 3 episodes around an outrageous shootings spree was getting on 2 episodes too long but the same formula in middle s2 another overcrowded because of some major disaster was just too much. The last few episodes in s2 also started to chew and chew on the same, and it seems they got no real things to deal with other than sexual abused-dealt with by Dana, and the Robby/Langdon will they wont they storyline.

I also got way too much West Wing vibes from s2. Like, under what moral compass ''righteous'' stone have these people been living? I have never seen a work place so much in line with each other and the truth has a lot more 'life' than this drama. House (s4) had that so much better (even if his 3 stooges showed the same). Garcia was the only one injecting some realism, real life behavior.

I kinda hope s3 will get a few more seasoned guest actors even of some of the regular cats really showed their craft.

So, really entertaining, I loved binging but I did start to ff quite some parts through 2. I hope they fix that in s3. If not, it will still be entertaining. Way better than ER, a little below House imo (even if House also had storylines dragging on and on and on). House vs Robby? I think id choose House.

On one of the last episodes of the first season, Dana grabs her purse and it had a cool, wide, striped strap. I didn't really see much of the rest of the purse but wondered if anyone recognized the brand? I'll try to edit later with a photo.

I noticed this on my latest watch through and I just wanna know... wtf is that?!?

I love this show and this community! But one small thing I wish is that the autism community would not be expected to become "giddy" and satisfied with Langdon's extremely small gesture of turning off the one light switch in the exam room, unless they were going for more of a display of a sweet gesture between two potential mates? I wish the show would portray more serious and DEEPER aspects//experiences of people with autism such as sitting on the floor, isolating, crying, hitting yourself, almost like a panic attack. Maybe that is not even correlated with autism, but I realized that when autism is shown it seems surface level and almost like "here damn", but I LOVE Mel's character she's so nice and down to Earth!! Their scenes with something Mel and something autism related like the light as well as the lava lamp moment just seem so...childish and surface level and as if they just wanted to throw a cuople things in but to be able to include such a heavyweight topic and conversation in the show without putting forth the actual effort to make the displays of depth and substance, they know by including the topic of autism in a popular medical show it would automatically ignite conversations and praise but in all actuality the things they chose to portray Mel with---lava lamp viewing, light off, and quick talk of history at nurses station (and a quick show of being stared at and excluded) are almost insulting. All I think is that the show did wonderfully by casting Mel she is so wonderful, and praise for including the topic especially in such a popular medical drama, but con for the actual care and delivery.

This is simply a silly light hearted post! But I couldn’t help wondering which Pokemon each Pitt character would choose as their favourite?!

If I ever committed to being an actor, I could NEVER work on a show like this. It’s so technical and specific and looks extremely intense. On top of that, they don’t let you have scripts on set to hide around in case you need it, and that is a LOT of medical jargon. I’d be overwhelmed before I’d even started.

I’m sure Wyle will win.
LaNasa, if she’d been put in lead this season like she SHOULD HAVE, would’ve been a surefire win. But this year I really think Moafi will win (holy COW that was INCREDIBLE acting).

Rewatching season one right now, but I just noticed anytime anyone yells “Need some help!” Dr. King shows up to help. Mostly Whitaker but also a patient. As I keep watching I’m going to see if this trend continues, but I bet it will.

I just love how well they’ve written Mel. Absolutely one of my faves!

I couldn’t help but be amazed by how Dana handled the SA case in the ER. She was so gentle, nurturing, and incredibly delicate with the victim. As someone who has also experienced SA, I couldn’t help but wish my own case had been handled with the same level of care and compassion.

Unpopular opinion: Loving Dr. Robby as a character doesn't mean I think he's a good person.

He's brilliantly written, but I don't think he's a good boss or leader, and I think the fandom sometimes overlooks that because he's such a compelling character.

You can love a character while also acknowledging that they aren't someone you'd actually want to work for or look up to. In fact, I think that's part of what makes his character so good! The guy needs serious counseling and therapy...let's not miss characterize characters simply because they are complicated

for the viewers that cry every single episode. I just caught up 10 minutes ago and I’m reeling. I need thoughts feelings and opinions on these things specifically:

- the final scene with dr. robby (his entire thing actually)
- anything regarding dr. mohan because ???? she did NOT deserve a single thing that happened to her. I love her. baby come home the kids miss u.
- was dr. whitaker’s crash out random or was I missing something…..
- the Jesse scene (much to say)

So, I've worked with people like Santos my entire life (I work in healthcare) and Ive seen a lot of people say that she "Saw through" Langdons drug use but that's not exactly what happened either.

Santos is the kind of person who doesn't really own up to their fuckups. She presents as "tough' or "arrogant" to mask her trauma underneath but it would be factual to say that she does not take ownership of her mistakes, shortcomings or gaps in knowledge, especially from people she perceives as inferior to herself.

The reason she was such a bloodhound for Langdon and any potential drug use was because if she could prove that there was something wrong with Langdon then in her mind it "undoes" all her mistakes, unprofessionalism and dangerous behavior from that entire season.

Let's remember for a moment that she made TWO separate major decisions without speaking to her attending (which if you work in healthcare is a massive no-no), dropped a bloody scalpel into a colleagues foot, accused a man on a ventilator of molesting his daughter (remember we never once had any kind of confirmation that he did it. Just the moms assumption. It's not the place of doctors to make those judgements which is a theme that carried over into S2), shows no respect to her fellow student doctors, attendings or residents and overall just being an ass.

Personally I like her character. She's layered and has a huge opportunity for growth but she didn't save Landon and in fact she's pissed he didn't lose his licence. She might have been right about her assumptions but they certainly weren't for the betterment of the hospital or patients it was simply due to ego and nothing else.

Should Langdon have yelled at her? Fuck no. It was wildly unprofessional and while she did deserve some kind of talking to for her unprofessional behavior it should have been handled by Robby or Abbott.

You can always do the right thing for the wrong reasons. I think people are just forgetting that she never had the hospitals best interests in mind when reporting him. She was looking for something before he ever even yelled at her so it really was just her getting petty revenge for being called on her shit.

Got a really cool insight into how the production operates from this interview, and learned about how much a small role means to an entire group of medical professionals. Definitely worth a listen!
