Not saying the actresses cant act the part and no disrespect to the actors/actresses full stop. That being said ive watched the show several times now and everytime a female comes up as the villian of the week or more over arching they are all written the same and could be swapped out for one another and I couldnt tell the difference. They all have that chip on shoulder axe to grind snarky all get away with it because of my position attitude. They all sounded exactly the same, at one point I had to double take to make sure a formally dead character didnt come back to life.

Did it bother anyone else that we never get an answer as to why someone kidnapped Tom (Chris), took him away from his parents, and paid a criminal to confess to killing him? I've watched Redemption as well, and you don't get much more info either. I hated Tom's death even more than Liz's, tbh because we never got answers about that.

Elizabeth seems to be a master at weaponizing her stupidity. The show is great, but her near-constant narcissistic and idiotic behavior is difficult to watch. My question is this: Does her terrible yet predictable behavior ever become more palatable in later seasons, or is she just going to be a permanent fly in the ointment?

P.S. No dig at the actress Megan Boone—she's obviously a good actress if she's able to consistently aggravate me every episode.

That Red tolerated Jellybean's antics for so long is fortunate for us, because we got to see Red so amped up, most times without an outlet. Just pissed and pumped and perplexed...

To me there will never be a more sound theory for Redarina than when Agnes says to him “Pinky, you’re being such a mom.” And his retort is “Yeah, I guess I just can’t help it”

To me, that’s an ever so subtle nod to confirming what we all believe.

Was this a debated topic regarding their relationship I mean don’t spoil but HAHAH wtf… (anyway besides that the power imbalance in the relationship is so unhealthy that anything romantic would ruin it, which I’m actually glad it’s likely not to be)

How comes he never knows anyone's location in the blacklist at all, you always have to go through a few other people first?

It was very enjoyable until the end of season 6 (even with Liz’s unpredictability) and then it was like a different set of writers and producers took over, because Liz completely lost it with her need to destroy Red, joining with Townsend and doing everything so clumsily. Seasons 7 and 8 are not my favorites, the last few episodes of season 8 in particular, but still watchable because of James Spader.
Seasons 9 and 10 were a return to what made The Blacklist a great series, it was as if the original writers and producers had returned, and sanity had prevailed.
Red died on his own terms, not in a hail of bullets or by a lethal injection, but by a black bull taking him out. A poetic end.
