I was reading Kessler’s letter to the Big 12 and this language kind of stuck with me. He makes reference that any action by a big 12 entity to prohibit Sorsby from “practicing, playing or otherwise participating on Texas Tech’s football team for the 2026 season - would violate or be in contempt with the order.” Is it reasonable to assume that as an entity of the big 12, should Tech decide to part ways with Sorsby, they too would be in violation of the order? The admin has obviously dug in. However I keep seeing the argument that we need to just drop Sorsby from the team, legally could Tech do that and still be in compliance with the terms of the injunction? I don’t see this discussed much is why I ask.
