I recently just finished a master mode play through to see all the 1.4.5 changes (I know I'm a little late) and then also finished a legendary mode play through on the zenith secret seed, and its frankly absurd just how OP mounts are.
I quite literally never used any mobility accessories in either play through other than a grapple hook and a cloud in a bottle. I had the materials to make terraspark boots in prehardmode in both play-throughs, but I literally didn't bother because having a mount was just better and I could just use an extra defensive of offensive accessory instead. I did not make a single set of wings because I never needed to.
In prehardmode: Roller skates are faster than hermes boots and can be used on minecart tracks.
Meanwhile the chillet mount gives you an insanely good dash with a bunch of iframes that doesn't even bounce off enemies like the should of cthulhu does, runs even faster than roller skates, and greatly reduces fall damage taken.
Then in hardmode (on master mode+), the black spot from pirate invasions is super easy to get and gives you infinite flight. Even with its nerfs, its still obscenely strong just because its comparable/better than a lot of the wings you can get at the time and it frees up multiple accessory slots for more defensive and offensive accessories. The other infinite flight mounts are at least only obtained much later in the game (witch's broom from pumpkin moon, ufo from martians, and cute fishron from duke fishon.) Duke fishron can technically be completed at the start of hardmode like the pirates can be, but he can't be easily beaten with prehardmode weapons.
These mounts functionally give you the benefits of a mine cart arena (high mobility and free accessory slots) without the actual cost of proper mine cart arena building or the extremely slow acceleration and deceleration.
I feel the "healthiest" designed mounts are the ones like the dark mage tome, the honey googles, or the slime mount in pre-hardmode, where they give you access to a great mobility tool, but the mount alone is not enough to fulfill your mobility needs (especially for bosses or events). Or the hardmode infinite flight transformation mounts (faerie and bat mount) that grant you access to extremely good mobility for exploration or dodging, but prevent you from doing anything else (requiring that you still have some mobility without them), but they are both unfortunately post mech boss and are rare drops, meaning they won't be useful by the time you get them.
I would like it if there there were more (good) mounts like the santank that offered real offensive utility, then there would at least be a real opportunity cost to equipping a mobility mount. Or if more movement accessories stacked/worked alongside with mobility mounts, that way I could at least get both. Also break the black spots legs some more. Its still too strong.

I'm having trouble creating (how I'm going to design) the trophy room for the Eater of Worlds and the Brain of Cthulhu. Does anyone have any tips?

There is no need to change it. The current icon serves its purpose well and current discussion elevates transphobic voices while taking away focus from other, more important discussions. Either do a community poll to determine the next icon or ban people wasting time arguing over this. Please.

Like some sort of pet basket, you could place the pet summon item inside of it and pets could the roam around a bit instead of sitting in a chest, like some sort of pet terrarium.

With The Odyssey's recent debut I wanted to create something ancient Greece-themed in Terraria, so I decided to recreate the Parthenon. It's not 1:1, of course, but I think it looks somewhat okay given my lack of experience building more complex buildings. The reason I have made this thread is the fact that I just cannot decide which version should be the final one between 1, 2, 3 and 4 (left to right). I understand that to someone who didn't build it, the differences might be basically minimal, but if you could pick the one that overall looks the best to you, I would be very grateful!
I am open to suggestions too, after I am not a very seasoned builder in this game yet. Thanks all :D

Hi lads
Just looking for some building advice, so far I'm proud with this but I really love improving my stuff, so, some advice or opinions is appreciated 😼.
Edit
Decided to add which house is which.
Image 1: Just a map of the forest base. All forest NPCs are here, this was pre-hardmode.
Image 2: Bathroom. (Right before the Golfer's home)
Image 3: On the right, Bar area, dining area and Bartender's home. On the left, is the Guide's room.
Image 4: Guide's library!! Had to set up my day 1 heh. It's the one with the purple lighting.
Image 4: On the right, Zoologist's home. On the left, Golfer's home. These are the grassy homes.
Image 5: Dye trader's home. Desert.
Image 6: On the right, Gun trader's home. Very much not my proudest, I just wanted this one done ngl. On the left, nurse's home. Actually liked the nurse design
Image 7: On the top, painter's home. Had no idea where to go with him. On the bottom, is the dryad's home. I loved this one ngl. Lighting really helps it though.
Image 8: This is the underground one, demolitionist's home. By FAR my proudest. I seriously love how it turned out

campfire and platforms are the only two things that show up for wood. No crafting table.

Hey everyone, I am a new player and I wanted to upgrade my base before going into hardmode. I took inspo from a few videos but kept it mainly my personal work. I have a vision of the tower on the right maybe connecting to another building via a bridge, but I struggle more with what i can put in the actual tower itself to make it look good. Additionally not sure what type of chests would look good with this style of building. The decoration was rather difficult as I didn't even know what is available to me and what exists as blocks out there.
I'm open to any suggestions/tips even if they are generally about the build and not just the tower and storage room.

I am very open to suggestion for the label, I waffled for forever and still don't know if I like it
I designed the files for a terraria CD, this is the first of 5. The colors are weird because it's made for print.

I’ve never really put effort into building before so let me know if there are things that would look better!! I’m pretty early game so I don’t have anything from the traveling merchant.

Coming back to the game for the first time since around when 1.4.4 came out. Despite having played this game since I was like twelve and the final boss was Ocram, I have never fully played through with the summoner class. I learned their are new whips in 1.4.5 and for the most part, they were useful. Now I am having a little trouble with MoonLord. On master mode he's never been easy, but having to stay closer to him to use my Kaleidoscope is a particularly difficult.
My whip is legendary, my Stardust Cell Staff is fabled, and all my accessories are warding. Also I found that Master Ninja Gear, Fishron Wings, and roller skates are effective movement so I traded out my boots for a Necormantic Scroll. Also when I fight the Moon Lord I use ironskin, regeneration, swiftness, summoner, endurance, and lifeforce potions.
I haven't been super up to date on what the best strategies are in 1.4.5 so I wanted to ask you guys for some help.
PS. mods please please please don't take this down with rule 12 I think the pictures are Important to understand my build.
