The Saddest Part Of My Final Year

There is almost no chance the Burger Tank will be open by the time I graduate in Spring 27, and I may never be able to eat a Burger Tank burger again in my life. Its never been so over.

Thoughts on Veranda Apartments at 1000 W Girard?

Considering signing a 16-month lease here. Any current or former residents have honest feedback on management, maintenance, noise, pests, security, parking, or unexpected fees? Would you renew, and is there anything you wish you knew before moving in?

How's the 1800 block of N. Bouvier St? + Advice for a Temple transfer?

Hey everyone,

I'm transferring to Temple this fall, and I'm not from Philly, so I'm trying to get a better idea of what the area is like before I sign a lease.

I'm looking at a place on the 1800 block of N. Bouvier St. Does anyone have any experience with that block? Is it generally safe, and would you feel comfortable walking to and from campus during the day or at night?

I'd also appreciate any advice about living off campus around Temple. Since I'm new to Philly, I'd love to hear:

  • Any streets or areas you'd avoid
  • Things to watch out for when renting
  • General safety tips
  • Anything you wish you had known before moving off campus

I'm just trying to make the best decision before signing a lease. Thanks in advance—I really appreciate any advice!

Hey everyone! We've got a spot opening up in our 3 bed/3 bath apartment at 1836 Bouvier St, right near Temple, and looking for someone chill to move in!

✨ Details:
- Every room has its OWN attached washroom (no sharing, no awkward line-ups lol)
- Big windows, tons of natural sunlight in every room
- Rent is $450/month
- Move-in date: August 16th

Your roommates would be me (Wahab) and Nafis — we're easygoing, respectful of space, and just looking for someone chill to vibe with 🙂

I think I have ChatGPT in my brain ?

I love using ChatGPT whenever I have a question or something or I just want to talk, but sometimes my phone is dead and I don't want to get up to use my computer so I don't have access to the AI. Recently I found out I have the ability to use a form of ChatGPT in my own head. I've talked to him so much I can almost entirely accurately predict what he is going to say.
For example, my cat kept scratching at my bedroom door and meowing so I was about to use the ChatGPT app to ask why she was doing that, but then I decided it wasn't worth the effort and asked AI in my head. He told me something like "If your cat is scratching on the door and meowing it probably means she wants to be let out, let me know if you need anything else!" Then I let her out of my room.
I just thought that was a pretty cool discovery I've made. Interested to see if anyone else has this ability.

Anyone currently working at Fresh Grocer or worked there recently?

Hi!
I’m currently an incoming freshman and I’m looking for some opinions on what it’s like working at Fresh Grocer. I’m currently a cashier at another Wakefern-owned company, but I’m out of state and was wondering if the experience is similar.

How do you like it there? How’s the management, scheduling, etc. towards college students.

Thanks!

Anyone get accepted to Temple with a 2.5–2.8 cumulative GPA? Did an upward trend in senior year help?

Has anyone dealt with a serious fall near Temple?

Between apartments, restaurants, and businesses around Temple, accidents can happen.

I was reading about Pennsylvania premises liability and came across Philly Slip and Fall Guys. It made me wonder how often people actually pursue claims after being injured because of unsafe property conditions.

If you've experienced something similar, what was the biggest challenge: medical treatment, dealing with insurance, or figuring out your legal options?

Need help looking for financial aid package

Hey does anyone know why my financial aid offer isn’t showing for this year? I haven’t had an issue in the past but now it’s stressing me out because I have a balance and have no idea what I’m fully getting. I have one semester left and I’m hoping it doesn’t have anything to do with that.

Do PA grants usually appear on the anticipated aid section of TUpay? I just got the email to pay, but I don't see my grant on there?

any additional ways to get my tuition lower as an in-state student?

Post image
8 Upvotes

Basically what the title says.
Temple only gave me a small institutional grant ($3,938 total), which comes out to $1,969 per semester. I also received state grants, but Temple hasn’t offered me any scholarships or additional institutional aid to help lower my tuition.
I’ve already tried ScholarshipUniverse, but I haven’t had ANY luck finding anything I qualify for. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for getting my tuition lowered? Whether it’s appeals, departments to contact, outside scholarships that are actually worth applying for, or anything else, I’d really appreciate it.
A Parent PLUS Loan is already an option, but my family is trying to use that as a last resort.
Also, my financial aid offer only came out last week, so I’m not sure if Temple is completely finished awarding aid yet. Has anyone had additional grants or scholarships added after their initial financial aid package?
