The exporter is really great but boatloads of values in titles have commas in them. Is there any way to change the delimiter to another character? Or have the values enclosed in double quotes, that would solve it too.

I've searched for a few hours a few times but I haven't found an answer.

I have a lot of pre roll videos, but for ease of organization they are all just named numerically. These preroll videos show in push bullet notifications when someone plays a movie. I can only see the number which doesn't really mean much to me. It would be great to have the message include a link to the local file. I realize this would only work while on the same network as my server, but that's fine.

Any suggestions welcome.

I have read a few posts on this subject after searching but I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not.

I want emails when new tv shows are added to Plex. The notifications I have set up work fine: media type is episode or media type is season.

However I'm also being told every time an episode is upgraded which seems to happen a lot with new shows. I've read in other threads that when episodes get upgraded Tautulli sees them as totally new because they have a new ID. Is there a way to filter out the upgrades and just tell me about new show episodes once?

It wasn't really a big deal when I only had a a cpl family members using my Plex server (my parents and my neice), but I recently added a cpl friends and they sometimes ask for stuff, but I like to check if they've actually watched what I've spent time getting them, or if they're just asking for stuff....

(I don't have a lot of drive space to keep up with every single request, so I found Tautulli to track it, and I LOVE how t works, BUT...)

...everytime I upgrade it (this is the 2nd time), ALL past watch history is gone, so am I missing something here (like am I supposed to manually download logs/files before every upgrade and restore them)???

I've looked online a LOT, but nowhere have I found any 'How To' (or a 'caution' note) with upgrading, so any assist on this would be appreciated.

If I am supposed to manually back something up, where/how do you do it (I'm running it as a service on a Windows 11 PC)???

I spent way too long trying to get this to work last night. I fear that Copilot was hallucinating the whole thing and sent me on a wild goose chase.

Looking at the list of available attributes, there isn't any variables related to city/state location of the user. I wound up asking Copilot about the possibility, it said you could use these options:

It said to get it to work, you have to enable it in the Tautulli settings,

But because I'm using a newer version of Tautulli, it says that you need to manually download the MaxMind GeoLite2-City database, and manually install it because the newer version of Tautulli removed it.

Whatever I try, I can't get these tags to work.

Looking at the ChangeLog, it does seem like Tautulli removed this database, so that seems like Copilot is correct. But is it hallucinating about everything else?? I can't find anything historically googling for those tags.

I love Tautulli.

However, the one thing that I find lacking is the ability to know if a stream marked as "transcoded" was just for audio transcoding.

When the stream is active, Tautulli is awesome! It shows me whether the transcoding is happening to the video and/or audio.

However, when the stream is not running, I have to dig into the web app to find out. But what is worse is that the mobile app does not show me at *all* what exactly was transcoded. Also, the mobile app does not show any stats about the stream like the web app.

First, it would be great to have additional icons that show you:

• Direct Play (existing)
• Direct Stream (existing)
• Transcode Video and Audio (new)
• Transcode Video Only (new)
• Transcode Audio Only (new)
• Transcode Video or Audio (remove existing)

Then in the mobile app, the detail report of a specific stream would show the detailed stats about the stream, as the web app does.

hey all, just recently i noticed i could not load my tautulli page while on my LAN. Nothing has changed. First thing i did was close and update the app and we are still having the same issue. Allowed the port through on my firewall and still no luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Pretty much as per title, it seems like all of my History is captured in the History tab, “Recently Added” looks right, but ”Watch Statistics” has very little content, and ”Library Statistics” is empty.

Anyone know what might be causing this? My VM hit HDD capacity with docker junk, and then had to go through a wizard setup for some reason in Tautulli.

My plex database got severely corrupted, long story short ended up having to nuke it and start again. My concern now is with tautulli. When I go to the library tab everything is all jacked up. E.g my Movies library is now called Anime Movies and my TV Shows library is now called 4K - Movies.

All my plex libraries are called the exact same so nothing is different there.

I tried restoring a tautulli backup from yesterday but my libraries are still all screwed up.

Will running the update_all_metadata.py script fix everything or is there other stuff I need to do. I tried looking for answers on reddit and the tautulli website but I wasn't getting any clear answers or I'm not asking the right questions.

I had this idea and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to achieve this..

Here's the scenario I'm imagining:

User (Jeff) watches movie (Naked Gun). Tautulli records this as watched, then in Radarr, the tag (jeff) gets applied to movie (Naked Gun). Same goes for TV series and Sonarr.

The reason for this is sometimes when I do a purge (I know, heathen!) I kind of want to ask the user if they want to keep it or not. I know it's not foolproof (maybe it's on a watchlist or something) but thought it could be a nice feature. I was wondering if there might be a simple script that could do this? Any help would be appreciated!

I noticed today that Tautulli hadn't been running since Apr 23. There wasn't any Widows updates or reboots at that time and nothing in Event Viewer to indicate anything had happened on the Plex server.

I'm not sure what happened here, but I experience unscheduled shutdowns a couple of times a year which results in some missing Tautulli tracking. This occurs even though I've setup Tautulli to "Launch at System Startup".

To ensure the service can recover from this situation I was thinking of using Task Scheduler to run a batch script every hour that checks if the Tautulli.exe was running and if not then start it. Just seeing if anyone has done anything similar and have any recommendations/thoughts on this approach.

So I'm about to throw in the towel on this. But before I give up & tap out, I figured I reach out here.

Been trying to get the script to run on macOS Tahoe [MDos]. No matter what I try it doesn't work.

1. macOS 26.4.1
2. Tautulli 2.17.0
3. Python 3.14.4
4. Verified that the "requests" module is seen by Python
5. chmod +x the file

This is the error I keep on running into. No matter what I do or try.

Tautulli help with Plex

I recently, within the last week, installed Tautulli on my Plex build. I am running it on a Windows 10 machine that used to be a desktop and has been repurposed for a home media manager. The setup is basic, external hard drives for media storage, nothing else much running on the machine except Plex and whatever is needed for basic functionality.

For the first few days, all the information being collected by Tautulli was fine, whatever was watched, added, time, plays, etc. Then, starting yesterday, prerolls started showing as higher counts in the information displays.

Now, instead of seeing that I may have watched a movie twice, I am seeing the preroll that might have played more than that.

Knowing they are playing is fine, but, it skews the information that I would like to have by pushing real viewed movies off and populating the information with that static.

Talking with a friend, his only suggestion was setting up another Plex server for the prerolls that was unmonitored, that way I could pull prerolls from there and they wouldn't corrupt the views. That sems a little excessive for simply walling off the prerolls from being monitored.

Maybe I missed something in the install, I have gone over and over it numerous times, and all looks fine.

Installed Tautulli using Container Manager on Synology. Everthing works except the internal file browser. It just keeps loading and no folders show up. Which means I can't select my custom newsletter template. I've tried typing in the path manually, but it always says 'invalid path'. I've tried /custom-newsletter-templates, /config/custom-newsletter-templates, and the full path /volume2/docker/tautulli/config/custom-newsletter-templates. I've also tried rebuilding the container after creating the folder and binding the folder in the docker compose file. Also doesn't work. I've created the folder with the same user as I created the Tautulli folder with.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Tautulli is clearly connected to my server since I can see when I am currently streaming.

For whatever reason, when looking at the user list, the last update was 4 months ago.

I can stream something on my server and see it on the homepage, also I can see all the updated history in the history tab.

I've tried updating the user list but that didn't do anything.

Concurrent stream count is certainly interesting for see what kind of load your server can handle, but is there a way to see the number of unique users per day? I feel that stat would be more interesting as a way to see the number of people using the server. Not everyone watches at my normal concurrent peak between 9 and 10pm.

I've been looking for a guide on how to do this and I can't seem to find anything. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Tautulli is running in a jail

I went to check history and saw the update notice. Clicked to start the update. Tautulli went away when it finished updating, and I gave it a few minutes to get restarted and it doesn't connect.

I restarted the server after a few more minutes of trying to connect.

It still doesn't connect. I tried updating from the TrueNAS Jail menu, but there's no update available from where ever it looks (since it's either already updated or the update isn't there).

Hello everyone,

I have an issue where if I restart my Plex server, Tautulli will not connect to Plex. On the main page of Tautulli, it says:

 Tautulli is connecting to the Plex server...

It stays that way until I manually restart Tautulli from the GUI and then it connects to Plex and everything works just fine. I am not sure when this started to be honest because I really do not reboot my Plex server much.

Tautulli and Plex are both running on the same Debian 12 server. I am running the latest versions of both Tautulli and Plex. I double checked the systemd service file and it looks ok. To me it appears that Tautulli is not waiting for the network to come up.

Can anyone share any of their custom newsletters? I'd love to see some examples and if possible the assets to share with it! I can see where I need to edit my own but would love to see what others have.

I have a lot of TV shows being added each week but for some reason only certain TV shows, show up in the newsletter. Does anyone know why only specific TV shows are added and not all of them. Some of them are new shows and some of them are new episodes to the shows. Both seems to appear (new shows, and new episodes) but only for certain series. Not sure if there is a filter or some setting I am missing?

Is it possible to access hidden folders in the Script Settings > Script Folder setting? I'd like to run plextraktsync, but it's executable is located in ~/.local/bin/plextraktsync. I'm on a Mac. Setting the folder's chflag to nohidden didn't help out.
