I use single Broad with rail so I dodged Broad nerf but Pathfinders, Ghostkeel and Riptide point increased along with their Ion weapons (excluding PF)?!
Retaliation getting 3DP is also a poor choice from GW IMO. Montka being PA, I can work around with it.... I think.

Will happily take feedback, but I will admit being proud of how this one looks.

Note: This is legal combinations not necessarily useable by a sane player and includes running only 1 DP detachments.

My take on the twins, using my homebrew sept colour scheme with a couple of tweaks!

Here's some thoughts on the recent changes:
-I don't mind some of the points nerfs, some of them were pretty necessary, but with RetCad now at 3DP, we have almost the same number of total detachment options as we had in 10th edition (6 compared to 7, or 8 if you run all three 1DP detachments which, ya know, probably don't). That's a bummer, this edition was marketed as "anything goes, SO MANY OPTIONS!" And we simply do not have many options. We'll be good, we'll be fine, and we'll have good performance at competitive levels, but it's just not looking fun at all.
-Farsight down to 70 points is kind of funny. It's definitely a good buff to him, but him costing the same as a Strike Team underlines one of his core issues, which is that he's not as powerful as he should be. In lore he stands toe to toe with some of the Imperium's best duelists, and, well, still loses. But I think a lot of us Farsight enjoyers can agree that we love fielding him and like any points buffs, but would rather see a stronger, more impactful Farsight.
-Mont'ka switching to Priority Assets is kind of fine I guess, but it's a huge flavor loss. The Killing Blow should not win by doing actions in the center. Simple as that. As far as being "good", again, I'm sure it's fine, especially now that Stormsurges can action and shoot, but now a lot of our Mont'ka lists are going to look nearly identical to our 10th edition ones, with some more cheap units to do actions and a few good damage dealers. Just feels weird to win through actions with the Killing Blow. Womp womp ig.
-Kauyon switching to Recon... This one is kind of interesting. Thematically idk if it's better, but here's my issue with it: Kauyon+AAC was a really good combo that a lot of us were playing with. Now they're both at Recon, which further restricts our options. And we have so few options that any restriction of them has proportionally WAY more effect on us than nearly any other faction.
Idk. I've been trying really hard not to doom, and to stay positive, but like... Playing Tau just isn't very fun right now for me. I'm looking around the table at my buddies who are running really neat detachment combos, and really interesting lists, and I'm here kinda just playing the same old RetCad, only nerfed, and now nerfed again. All the combos I wanted to try are incompatible, and my favorite detachment (old AuxCad) is just not there anymore.
It's not all bad, I do really like Force Dispositions, but it sucks seeing how few options we have.

Now I understand better than anyone that size isnt the only thing that matters, but not only do they share the same toughness (5), they also have comparable melee into most infantry and the Kahl has an arguable better ability (lethal hits on all weapons) while also giving either deep strike or a 5+ invuln to his unit. I love farsight, and he REALLY deserves better (that doesn't mean another points cut) and I'm begging for GW to give him some real love when our codex drops, whenever that is

Now I'll preface this by saying that I don't want this but I'm just calling it like (I think) I see it.
I don't know about you guys but to me it really feels like Retaliation Cadre is much more of a "Killing Blow" than the actual Montka is. In lore, Montka is a very effective but risky plan that if pulled off well leads to quick and decisive victory. It's planned meticulously and if something doesn't go to plan, it's called off. If the pre-requistes fall through but the plan continues anyways then shit's gonna get real bad (see the beginning of Elemental Council).
Montka's detachments/strats/enhancements are all focused moving up the board to the objectives quickly, but there's nothing there that rewards you for actually being aggressive or risky. You don't gain or lose anything from Montka from being 6" away or 48" away from your target. It allows you to close the distance but it doesn't really reward you for it. Not to say Montka isn't good, it very much is, I'm just talking about theme here.
Retcad though, the whole rule literally doesn't work 12.1" away from a target. You HAVE to be risky. You HAVE to commit. And the strats and enhancements support that risky play a lot more:
Internal Grenade Racks - Have to have moved overtop the enemy, which probably means you started and ended your movement phase about 5-6" away from an enemy.
Fail-Safe Detonator - Only does anything if an enemy is within 6" of you when you die.
The Shortened Blade - Getting even closer than normal when deepstriking.
Mr. Montka himself (Farsight) ability only works if you're within 9".
To me it just seems like they realized Retcad was what Montka should actually be so they've given it Purge and 3DP to match that. Why is Montka still 3DP then? Fuckin beats me, but that's my thoughts.

^^ that is all. Just needed to get it off my chest. Thank you for listening.
I wanted to put the ship on a base and add some scenery to it instead of just having it sit on the ground is there any rules that say I could t or would make doing this bad for me or my open game play wise?

Just about wrapped up my Breacher/Hearthkyn warriors kitbash. I shared the first model in a previous post but it took me a while to come back to the rest of them. I wanted them to be chonky Tau rather than LoV auxiliaries (meaning they’ve all lost a finger & have hooves!).

That’s it. I don’t think it should be and I’m salty

Often shortened to O'Shovah but better known as an ABSOLUTE LEGEND.
This guy made 6/6 invulns against a Cerastus Lancer on the last turn of the game (each 8 damage)to deny centre ground and win the game 77-74. Truly a lore accurate performance and I WILL be running him in all games going forwards.

With the new ingress being 8" away, I assumed the designers forgot to change farsight ability to 8" away. Especially since they did something similar to ret cadre's rule.
But nothing changed in the last update and I can't figure out if they forgot again or if it is supposed to be that way.
I played with a 8" range until now since I assumed it was a mistake

From Strategic Reserves: If a model is so large that its base cannot physically be set up wholly within the distance required of the battlefield edge, it must be set up so that it is touching a battlefield edge.
During a turn in which such a large model is set up on the battlefield (excluding AIRCRAFT models), that model's unit cannot do any of the following: normal/advance/fall-back/charge move.
Make any attacks with ranged weapons.

Havent painted for about 5 years instantly made a rookie error in not thinning the paint so its abit blobby unfortunately. And no idea how you get such clean highlighting lines my hands were shaking all over. But ah well hes mine! Although i do realise now he looks abit like a chinese lantern.
With yesterday’s update I was hit pretty hard on the point and I’m now 70 points over on my list, easy fix would be to removed the vespid but I think they’re too useful. What should I do?
