Baby squirrels

These baby squirrels just fell out of a tree in my yard. One of them is definitely injured. Is there somewhere in town that can help with them? We left them in a box at the base of the tree for now, hoping the mom gets them.

Mingo is sweet, playful, and very curious about everything. About 8 months old. Has her rabies shot and is spayed. Needs the rest of her vaccines. She was rescued from outside and is now looking for her forever home! She wants to be an indoor kitty but enjoys being out on a screened in patio. Comes with toys and some supplies. Please DM me if you’re interested. Thanks so much!

IMAX

If you’re wondering where to go see any movies rated for IMAX, the Challenger Learning Center IMAX theater is amazing. Great sound and the screen looks fantastic. It’s size is 50’ x 72’ (that’s 15.5 x 21.9 meters). Completely changed my experience of The Odyssey. 10/10 recommend. No reclining seats but they were comfortable enough for a 3 hour movie.

Edit: I forgot to mention, the standard price for adults is $15 flat. For documentaries they charge $12.

Did they shut completely down???

Question Moving to Tallahassee

Greetings! I've recently accepted an internship offer in Tallahassee and will be relocating from Texas soon. The internship is 12 months long, so I will be there for quite a while, and even longer if it eventually becomes a full-time offer (which I was told is highly likely). I'd like to know what Tallahassee is like for a young college grad (26M) who lived in a small Texas college town for the past couple of years.

I heard it has a college town vibe, which is similar to where I am currently. And I assume summer is probably equally hot and maybe more humid, with occasional hurricanes. What would be the best places to live around Tallahassee? I was able to reach out to a friend of my friend, and he recommended Southwood. I looked into that, and it does seem like a nice place to live. Any apartment complexes/management teams to avoid?

And any other suggestions or things I should know about moving to and living in Tallahassee?

Thank you!

place to do remote presentation

hi all!!

my lease is ending here in a week or so, but i’m considering moving out early for personal reasons. regardless, this puts me in a bind. i wfh and will have to give an important presentation on aug 5th, and i may not be able to move into my new place until the 7th.

all this aside, is there a quiet place somewhere in town i could give this presentation uninterrupted for 5 minutes? obviously coffee shops and most study spots have loud music and background noise, and i was curious if there was a dedicated place for things like this? anything helps!

Question Tallahassee Restaurant Week - Not really a deal?

Anyone else notice all of these pre built menus for Tallahassee Restaurant Week aren't really providing a deal. Just looking at a few, you need to order the most expensive combination to save between $1-$5 and some combinations are actually more expensive then getting the items separately.

When I first saw a post about it I was excited to try out a few of the places but I expected some actual deal considering it's only a week long and is meant to bring people in.

Just comes off more as a cash grab and greedy rather than some cute local community event

Floorwalkers @walmart?

Random question but had to ask- I saw on TT that walmart employs “floor walkers” that follow you from the parking lot into the store until you check out. This would make sense as I had a few creepy encounters where I thought I was being followed by a sketchy looking old man. I literally had my husband pull up to the door so I could rush out I was terrified. Can anyone confirm that Tallahassee Walmarts do this? I live across the street from my local store so I’m usually in sweats and an old T-shirt which might make them profile me as a thief lol.

Question Gun Safety Courses/Ranges

My husband was gifted several rifles, shotguns, and handguns but has no experience with them besides one trip skeet shooting. He'd like to keep some and make range-shooting a hobby, but we need to know where to take safety classes. Also, who can teach him how to clean guns; how to use different guns, etc?

And before you mention it, no, we aren't selling or trading any guns, on Reddit or otherwise, so don't even ask.

Question Unique, local Spots for family photos?

We have done family photos at all the usual haunts here Maclay, Dorothy B. Oven, St. Marks, Wakulla, Wacissa, Miccosukee Greenway, Cascades, etc. I am looking for a more unique place to do photos for my son's 3rd birthday in August. I thought about Railroad Square but haven't actually been since that tornado damaged it in 2024 and don't know if it's back to normal yet. I also thought Piney-Z but truthfully, I don't want to have to walk a distance with a toddler in 100+ degree weather and August is hot.

Just trying to think of places that may be more unique. Or if you know of any cool spots in the usual places that we should try, that don't require trekking out super far to get to? Taking recommendations, thanks!
