Is there any way to make tidal faster at loading playlists?? this only happens on desktop never on my phone

Hey everyone! I made a program that displays what you're currently listening to on TIDAL in your Discord profile. It shows the album cover, track progress, and other details, basically just like Spotify.

New to the sub. Was there any warning of this? Love tidal but this cost isn't the most user friendly. Pretty disappointed

Has anybody ran into issues with downloading singles after the new update? All my albums were able to redownload just fine, but all of my individual tracks disappeared from that section entirely. I deleted the app, reinstalled, and all of my albums and individual tracks came back and downloaded, but anytime I add new tracks they don’t. I tried turning the automatic download button on and off but all that did was delete all the tracks in downloads again, then refused to go into the queue to download when I turned it back on.

If anybody has any advice that would be great because I really don’t want to switch over to a new app, but it’s looking like I might have to.

The wording of the new ai content slider is awful "Al content - Allow or restrict Al content labeled with the Al tag" ok ? so does turning it on or off allow or restrict?

Is there a setting for this? It gets frustrating when I'm driving and a greyed out song comes up and the music just stops playing entirely until I manually skip to the next track.

On the 23rd of May Tidal seems to have imposed a limited on the number of tracks it scrobbles each day. The limit varies from day to day, but Tidal never submits more than 10 tracks each day. Is there a way to make Tidal scrobble each track it plays?

The web page currently reports version 2026.07.15 and I scrobble to Last.fm.

So I recently switched from Spotify and was pretty disappointed that I can't find several songs from my playlists on Tidal.

Where do I request them?

I found some threads from several years ago that seem to point to some third party websites (surveygizmo and airtable)... Are these legit? Is that seriously the intended way?

TIDAL Desktop remains the only visible music interface, so you can continue using:

• Search • Albums and playlists • Your collection • TIDAL’s normal playback queue • Play, pause, previous and next • Seeking and volume • Shuffle and repeat • Album artwork • Synchronized lyrics • Windows media keys • Compatible keyboards and remotes

Behind the scenes, the TidaLuna plugin keeps TIDAL’s native audio session silent and sends the selected stream to a hidden Omniphony-enabled mpv instance.

This gives you the native TIDAL Desktop experience with a separate Atmos playback and binaural-rendering path.

ATMOS-FIRST REALMAX MATCHING

The project includes RealMAX, which checks whether the stereo track you selected has a matching Dolby Atmos edition.

It compares information such as:

• Track title • Duration • Available editions • Returned stream format

Playback priority:

Verified Dolby Atmos ↓ HiRes FLAC ↓ Lossless FLAC

RealMAX does not assume a track is Atmos merely because its title or album metadata contains the word “Atmos.”

The Dolby Atmos indicator is only shown after the returned stream has been verified as EAC3_JOC and decoded by mpv as multichannel E-AC-3.

When no verified Atmos edition is available, playback falls back to the best available stereo FLAC stream.

OMNIPHONy BINAURAL RENDERING

Verified Atmos playback can be routed through Omniphony Studio for binaural headphone rendering.

You can use:

• Your preferred SOFA or HRIR profile • Omniphony binaural rendering • Headphone playback • WASAPI output • Exclusive-capable Windows devices • A real installed ASIO driver • Omniphony OSC communication • Custom spatial-rendering settings

The SOFA or HRIR profile is controlled by Omniphony Studio rather than the TIDAL plugin.

THE MODIFIED MPV RUNTIME IS INCLUDED

The downloadable Windows release ZIP includes the required Omniphony-enabled mpv runtime:

You do not need to locate or build a separate modified mpv package when using the release ZIP.

The compiled runtime binaries are distributed through the release archive rather than stored directly in the Git source tree.

NEW CONTROL CENTER IN V2.2.0

Version 2.2.0 adds a visual Omniphony Control Center for setup and daily use.

It handles:

• Guided TIDAL device authorization • Authorization verification • Luna plugin installation and repair • Launching TIDAL in Atmos-first mode • Portable-path detection • Repairing paths after moving the folder • Authorization backup and restore • Installation and output diagnostics

The package does not require a hard-coded installation directory.

You can move the complete extracted folder, reopen the Control Center, and it will rediscover the package root and rewrite the portable paths.

SYNCHRONIZED CONTROLS AND LYRICS

The hidden player stays synchronized with TIDAL’s visible interface.

Supported controls include:

• Play • Pause • Stop • Previous • Next • Absolute seeking • Seek forward and backward • Volume and mute • Shuffle and repeat • Queue progression • Progress-bar position • Synchronized lyrics • Windows media-session controls • Compatible keyboard and remote controls

When a new track or RealMAX Atmos edition starts, the plugin:

1. Pre-pauses mpv.

2. Loads the selected stream manifest.

3. Seeks to exactly zero.

4. Applies the current volume.

5. Starts playback.

Version 2.2.0 also includes a zero-start lock that rejects stale timestamps from the previous song. This prevents a newly loaded track or Atmos edition from jumping to the previous track’s position.

Recovery after an actual audio-device interruption is handled separately and resumes from the saved position.

PREVIOUS-BUTTON BEHAVIOR

Previous behaves like it does in most desktop music players:

• Pressing Previous after three seconds restarts the current track. • Pressing it near the beginning moves to the previous queue item.

ENCRYPTED AUTHORIZATION BACKUPS

The Control Center can export the local TIDAL authorization into an encrypted .omniauth backup.

The backup uses AES-256-GCM encryption and can be imported into another extracted copy of the project.

The password is never stored.

Local authorization files remain inside the extracted folder:

• api/token.json • api/.env

These files are excluded from Git and rejected by the release validator.

They should never be uploaded, attached to an issue, included in screenshots, or committed to GitHub.

VERIFIED V2.2.0 PLAYBACK TESTS

The release was validated with an authenticated TIDAL account.

Results included:

• Verified E-AC-3 JOC Atmos playback • Six-channel, 48 kHz Atmos streams • Exact 0.000-second playback starts • HiRes FLAC playback at 192 kHz • Audible standard FLAC fallback • Five out of five known stereo selections resolving to verified Atmos editions • Working play, pause, seek, and volume synchronization • Working previous and next routing • TIDAL’s Atmos indicator • Native TIDAL audio muting • Audible hidden mpv output • Synchronized TIDAL lyrics

The measured test streams became ready in roughly 432–629 ms, although real startup time depends on TIDAL’s CDN and your connection.

INSTALLATION

Requirements:

• Windows 10 or Windows 11 x64 • TIDAL Desktop • A working TidaLuna client patch • An active TIDAL subscription • Omniphony Studio • A WASAPI device or real installed ASIO driver

Setup:

1. Download Tidal-Atmos-For-TidaLuna-v2.2.0-Windows-x64.zip.

2. Extract the complete ZIP into a permanent writable folder.

3. Install and open Omniphony Studio.

4. Close every existing TIDAL window.

5. Run Omniphony Control Center.bat.

6. Open Authorization and request a fresh TIDAL device code.

7. Complete the device-link page in your browser.

8. Return to the Control Center and verify the authorization.

9. Open Installation and install or repair the Luna plugin.

10. Start Omniphony Studio and load your SOFA or HRIR profile.

11. Select Launch TIDAL Atmos.

12. Choose the Omniphony WASAPI or ASIO backend and your physical output device from TIDAL’s output menu.

Setup.bat remains available as a compatibility shortcut and opens the same Control Center.

No Docker container, global Python installation, separate visible API terminal, hard-coded installation path, or visible mpv window is required.

Tidal just updated on Windows and they've added the blurred background; it looks really nice.

With today's desktop update (2026.07.22), background blur has been finally implemented to the player! And I think it looks amazing...

Just got an email from Tidal including this update - smart search, a small change but it makes a big difference in enhancing the app experience

I love Tidal. They finally managed to fix the problem with buffering (which even happend on highspeed connections). But they cannot or will not fix the other big problem with the windows desktop app: When I scroll through my collection of artists, it gets stuck and I have to wait for a minute or two until I can scroll further down. This is really, REALLY annoying.

After a few months when it initially failed today I again tried to connect with last.fm through the Tidal iOS app. Login failed, although it works just fine in last.fm app or on the last.fm website. Does anyone know a fix for this?

My app seems to have updated recently (was in the hospital for 2 weeks and used it okay) and once I got home I put the app online and now my downloaded tracks can't be filtered by anything, very annoying (usually have them by artist)
Is this a known issue? Part of the recent update or what?

In case anyone else has struggled with this.
It annoyed me that I could not see tracks that had just played. Just figured out that you have to scroll down on the play queue into the ‘next up’ then scroll back up and the already played tracks are now visible!

A lot has changed since my last post here so I wanted to share what's new with Sonic Oracle.

Hey , im having an annoying issue on PC, songs refuse to play whenever I set the audio quality to High or Max. They only start streaming when I drop the quality down to Low.

My internet connection is fast and stable, so bandwidth shouldn't be the issue. Has anyone run into this before or knows a fix?

Hi, I recently switched from Apple Music, and one thing that surprised me is how many Dolby Atmos songs (especially Queen's catalog) aren't available. Is this just temporary, or are Dolby Atmos versions simply not as widely available on this service as they are on Apple Music?

New Tidal user here and just signed up and moved my 110k music collection from Spotify using Tunemymusic transfer facility. The transfer failed a couple of times and the error message said to try again. After the transfer completed successfully, I noticed I have 2 or 3 duplicates of every playlist.

I can see a delete function to select a single playlist, delete and confirm. This would be very time consuming to delete all duplicates.

So my thinking is to try to delete the whole music collection and then resync from Spotify again.

Is there a quick way to delete the whole music collection in one go.

One day I was listening to Man With a mission - "Tales of Purefly" album. Then next day when I wanted to listen to it again it's suddenly showing only tracks 2, 6, 8 and 9. I though it was some kind of licencing issue but then remembered that I added track 4 to my collection. It's still there and playing just fine but when I view the album it still doesn't show. Today I wanted to listen to Desperado: The Soundtrack and this one only shows track 11, so I take it this is affects more albums.
I thought maybe this was an app error but when I looked those albums up through web browser version (Firefox) it was exactly the same.

Anyone knows what is up with that? Any way to fix it? And if not, has there been any word from the devs about it?

I get that licences can change and music is taken down and added back sometime later or not. BUT AT LEAST TELL ME WHAT IS GONE. Tidal used to gray out what is missing.

Now I just either realise I haven’t heard a band in a long time on shuffle and search to find them missing from my collection or see that the number of songs in my collection reduced significantly so something got removed.

Tidal please let me know what is gone so I can find it again somewhere else or add it back when it’s available.

On iOS, the top header bar stays fixed when scrolling up on the Home tab. On Android, it hides in that same scenario, giving a cleaner, more immersive view.

Small as it sounds, this affects both usability and visual polish, every bit of screen space matters on mobile, and a persistent header just eats into it. Would love to see this fixed to match the Android experience.

I keep getting this message every time I try to add an album to my collection. I've cleared my cache, deleted and reinstalled the app, deleted a lot of albums I don't listen to just in case I hit that limit, and nothing works. Any suggestions? I apologize if this has been brought up before.

Anyone else notice it? Lately (since update of either iOS or Tidal) when playing music, my iPhone 16 gets crazy hot and the battery drains very very fast. any suggestions for how I can stop it?
