The blockaded entrance of the Texas Christian University Administration Building (now Reed Hall). This was done a combination of a senior prank and in protest of the upcoming final exams. Fort Worth, 1938.

Can any nursing students tell me what it’s like?

Im a rising hs senior and have been thinking about TCU for a while now. I'm hoping to find any current / former BSN students who could tell me a little bit about the nursing program.
Specifically, how are clinicals in the Fort Worth area? Any info would be amazing. Thanks!

Freshman Parking

My son is an incoming freshman at TCU this fall, and he was denied a campus parking permit. We're looking for a safe, reliable place within walking distance of campus where he could park his car for the school year. If you live near TCU and have an extra parking space, driveway spot, or unused parking area that you'd be willing to rent out, we'd love to hear from you.

Should I transfer to TCU

Hey everyone I’m coming here to ask for some advice. So last year I was attending california state university San Marcos and I lived with my parents and drove there every day and it kind of made me feel unfulfilled like I wanted to be able to be independent and get the “college experience” my hometown friends when they would come home for breaks would tell me about there college and it made me feel like I wish i went off to college. So i applied to a few schools but I could only really apply to private universities because you need 60 credits to transfer to a public college in california. I ended up getting into TCU and i really want to go. They gave me a lot of aid and it would only be 26k for tuition and housing a year. I feel like they gave me such a good offer but my parents are not willing to pay for it and I don’t really want to take loans out. I just don’t know if it’s worth paying that when I go to CSUSM for free. Some questions I ask myself is Will TCU give me better opportunities and make me more money in the long run? And just the main question should I transfer.I major in kinesiology btw.

AVIA 3433?

Wondering if anyone has taken AVIA 34333? I'm a first year but can technically can take courses that are more advanced due to DE and AP credits, but I'm aren’t sure if that is really a good idea. Many courses were full when I registered, so I just plugged anything in that fit. Now that AP scores are in, I am trying to refine my schedule, but I'm not sure if it is smart to keep higher-level classes or not. Any experience with this one in particular?

Prospective CS PhD student, how is the CS department at TCU?

I'm an international student currently considering a PhD offer from the CS department at TCU and I'm trying to know more about the program and department from people who have firsthand experience.

I know the CS PhD is relatively new (first cohort), so I'm curious about things like:

  • How is the overall CS department?
  • How supportive and accessible are the faculty?
  • What is the research culture like?
  • How strong are the department's industry and academic connections?
  • What are the strengths and weaknesses of studying CS at TCU compared to larger or more established programs?
  • How is TCU viewed by employers and other universities?
  • Is there anything prospective PhD students should know before committing?

I'd appreciate hearing from current students, alumni, or anyone who has worked closely with the department.

Question about Catholic organizations/clubs at TCU

Hello!

I wanted to ask around this subreddit to see if anyone knows of any solid Catholic-related clubs/organizations at TCU. My younger brother is heavily considering TCU as his 1st/2nd choice college option (he's a rising senior in HS rn), and if he can land the right financial aid and his major, I think he might be set to attend Fall 2027. We come from a Catholic family, and me and my parents are checking to see how strong the Catholic community is at TCU to ensure he is able to have a solid group to help him stay grounded in the faith and be surrounded by a familiar environment. In all honestly, my parents have always been cradle Catholics, so it was more of a cultural thing for us for most of me and my siblings' lives, it's only recently that we started to become more devout in the faith, and specifically for my brother, they want to see him headed in the same direction at TCU.

I read a little about the TCU Newman Center, but I'm not sure how strong its presence is on campus or other weekly activities it holds (weekly rosaries, masses, bible studies, etc.) For instance, I've heard a lot of great things about A&M's Newman Center, and it's amazing how much impact they've had on their students. But it is a significantly larger school and student population than TCU, so I guess it may not be the best comparison to make.

I'd love to hear if anyone has any advice or guidance to share in this regard!

AC in the Rec

Has anyone else found the Rec particularly hot recently? Particularly the weight room which is almost humid hot. The track right above the weights by the window is a little warm too. Like the HVAC is starting to bust or something.

I hate hot environments and I sometimes have to cut my workout short because I just want to get out of there. The main lobby is perfect though.

And the space where The Corner is, is another topic. I don't think it's got circulation there at all.

Realistic chances for housing?

Howdy y'all. My daughter is a rising junior who has been accepted to TCU this fall as a transfer student. She has been informed that she has been waitlisted for campus housing and it may not be guaranteed. Realistically, what are her chances for securing campus housing? I do not live in the States and this is a huge pain in the butt. Any advice would be appreciated. Go frogs!

Looking for Roomies

Hello there,

I am an incoming South-Asian full-time MBA student at TCU starting in Fall 2026. I'm currently looking for housing around campus and would be interested in connecting with other students who are looking for roommates.

My budget is around $600–$900 per month, and I'm open to sharing a 2–4 bedroom apartment or house. I'm tidy, respectful, and easy to live with.

I am into fitness, running, football(soccer) and pop-culture. I love animals but won't be bringing any pets.

If you're also searching for housing or need a roommate, please feel free to message me. Thanks!

Advice?

Earlier last year I applied to multiple schools for interior design. My top two schools being (Cornell and TCU). After applying early action to TCU and getting deferred to regular decision I was offered their first semester abroad program where I was able to do my first semester in another country with a guaranteed transfer to TCU in the spring because of limited space. However, the abroad schools didn’t offer aid and were expecting you to pay in the span of three months time for a heavy tuition fee. That lead me to end up choosing SFA after being rejected from Cornell.( no hard feelings lol my stats weren’t exactly Ivy League level). After I paid all my fees, signed up for orientation, deposited for housing I got an email from TCU yesterday telling me that they have space available in the fall semester and I can express my interest for them to continue the process.

Unfortunately now I’m in a bind I’ve already mourned TCU and have even come to love SFA but with this recent turn of events I’m not exactly sure of where I stand or what I really should do especially with my orientation for SFA being next week.

Note: I did express my interest just to see how much financial aid I’d receive but I’m still not exactly sure if I should go even if it’s a good amount.

I’ll be staying at TCU this summer for my internship. Does the recreation center have indoor volleyball in the evening? Would love to play volleyball while I’m here.
