Identification My early 90’s letters from my activist father in federal prison contain strange symbols

I’ve kept all of my dads letters from the time I was a child and I just recently began re-reading them 20 years later. A lot of them were coded and I had a book I used as a decoder at home. These, however, aren’t anywhere in my decoder and they’re on the front or inside of the envelope on most letters. Does anyone know what they mean? Sequence mattered to him so the way they are written also holds significance. He and his closest associates were killed when I was a teenager so there’s no one to ask.

Identification Curious about some symbols I stumbled upon. It is one full symbol, but I also split it just in case it helps with deciphering it.

I found a symbol recently, and I drew it. The first image is the full symbol, and the following images are just parts of that main symbol. I drew them separately because I thought they stood out.

Interpretation Can anyone tell me more about this protective coin?

So I was gifted this coin/amulet/talisman a few years ago from my family's respected maulana. I am personally not Muslim, but my dad's side of the family very much is.

I was struggling as a child with a fear of the dark and scared of shadows. My dad told our maulana and he got me this coin. I never really thought about it much. Wore it a while and eventually it was put in a drawer when I got older and I forgot all about it.

I have been a practicing folkloruric traditional witch focusing primarily on my mother's side of ancestry (Germanic paganism) for about 10 years now and recently gotten into amulets/talismans and protection wear. Think hagstones and nazar. That's when I rediscovered this coin and I would like to start wearing it again as protection. I still want to learn more about the witchcraft from my ancestors in India (which is my dad's side) but haven't got to it yet.

I don't know anything about what is actually writen or depicted on the coin and can't find much online. Can anyone help me about? I can't really feel good about wearing it if I don't understand it...

In this pictures you can see both sides.

Thank you in advance for all the help ❤️🌷

I can’t for the life of me find any information regarding this symbol or political movement online. I’m guessing something from WWI? Or maybe post-war? I couldn’t even find a wikipedia page. Thank you for your help.

Identification [Identification] Does this symbol have any weird/bad meaning? (Im aware abt the way pdfs use spirals so i hope its not that)

Hello everyone! I’m an artist and I was commissioned to draw someone’s Roblox avatar and I noticed the sun with a spiral on it. I was concerned cause I remembered the pdf thing about spirals and I don’t know about spiral suns.

I asked them what it meant on their avatar and they specifically gave an explanation from their friend and referenced Aztec culture.

I looked up the aztec sun and it does look similar to what the Roblox avatar had.

please help me and lmk what it is!😢

thank you very much!

Identification What is this symbol that was drawn on a shirtless man’s chest?

Post image

I was driving home earlier and saw a shirtless man with this symbol drawn from about his collarbone down to the bottom of his sternum. It appears to be some sort of heart mounted on top of either a cross or the female gender symbol. With two swords (?) crossing near the bottom of the heart. It looked to be drawn on with permanent marker.
I did a bit of research (reverse image searching) on my own and found similar symbols but without the cross in the heart and without any explanation. I also found a lot of kingdom hearts references. I do understand it could be some sort of Christian symbol as well but I am not religious so I don’t know what it could mean.
Thank you (:

Solved What is the symbol on the right? I first thought it was the nihlist symbol but I'm not sure.

I first thought it was the anarcho-nihlist symbol due to the anarchist A, the 2 vertical lines confused me though.

For context, there are some poorly drawn fascist symbols out of the frame.

Identification Identifying Fraternity Pins, Hopefully from Professional Osteopathic Frat

Thumbnail

TL;DR: Please help me identify which ΣΦΣ fraternity these came from. (I’m hoping one is from the sparsely documented osteopathic fraternity.)
Long version: I’m absolutely stumped and at a dead end trying to figure out these pins. I don’t yet own either but I’d like to figure out if either are what I’m hoping for. Since the photo doesn’t capture it great, the shield/sword pin has rubies interspersed with the pearls around the edges. For context, I collect old osteopathic medical fraternity pins (almost all of which are defunct now). I also collect yearbooks from the first D.O. school and have an extensive collection documenting most of the osteopathic fraternities/sororities that ever existed. Several of them are listed in early editions of Baird’s Manuals of American College Fraternities, but most are missing from this manual unfortunately. The Osteopathic Sigma Phi Sigma is one of the missing frats. It was founded on October 23rd, 1921 at the ASO (American School of Osteopathy) in Kirksville, MO. This school is now known as ATSU-KCOM. It was only around for a few years before it was re-organized into Sigma Sigma Phi, a currently active national Osteopathic med school honor fraternity. However, I know that the ΣΦΣ version had pins made, as they explicitly documented so in a yearbook from that era. Unfortunately, they never included a drawing or picture of their pin in any editions of the yearbook they were featured in. I have also scoured the Museum of Osteopathic Medicine’s archive website trying to find a picture of one, but to no avail. What complicates the matter is the existence of the social fraternity, ΣΦΣ, founded at the University of Pennsylvania in 1908. Their official pin is documented as a monogram of these Greek letters and definitively does not look like either of these pins. However, given the social fraternity’s popularity in the first half of the 20th century, they both could very well be an early chapter specific edition, or an officer’s pin that broke from the normal monogram design. Importantly, the back of the shield pin seems to be stamped with “GREEN”, which I believe to be a Midwest frat pin manufacturer previously based in Kansas City, MO (now defunct). I think this strengthens the possibility it is from the osteopathic fraternity, as the social fraternity was more eastern and likely wouldn’t have a pin manufacturer from MO. The cross pin only has a 10k stamp and maybe something else I can’t make out. Side note: there is also a currently active professional mortuary fraternity called ΣΦΣ, but they were founded in the 60s and I think their pin is also a monogram style, just to complicate things more. Anything anyone can add to help me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading my novel of a post!
