New to Stoicism is strategic apathy basically just stoicism?

i've been reading a bit about "strategic apathy" lately, and the more i think about it, the more it feels like it overlaps with stoicism.

from what i understand, both are about not wasting your time or emotional energy on things you can't control or that don't really matter. the main difference i can think of is that stoicism seems to put a lot more emphasis on virtue and living a good life, while strategic apathy feels more like a practical way of deciding what deserves your attention and what doesn't (seems more pragmatic).

is that basically the only difference, or is there a lot more i'm missing?

curious to hear what people who know stoicism better than i do think. thanks in advance!
