Bioshock Infinite crashes after a while and randomly: "filename not found"

Hi.

I forced Bioshock Infinite to run in Steam with Proton because native work doesn't work after the "Quality of Life" update.

Well, when I play, it crashes randomly and I can't figure why. Tried bypassing the Launcher, using it, and adding options like -nointro or -DisableTexturePool. Also tried verifying the files. But after some time (e.g. 15 minutes), sometimes with scene transitions, this happens. Even I moved the game from my external HDD (with ext4) to my home (with BTRFS).

Google couldn't help me this time, so I did all workarounds tried and found there. None working.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Thanks for your help.

I'm using an Nvidia GTX 1650, with latest drivers available at the date (nvidia 515.76)

Here's the log: https://pastebin.com/1mxQgZXv

If I happen to add a non steam game to my library that I normally run on emulation station, is there a way to change the emulator like we can in emulation station?

Proton Experimental using older DXVK

With 'version' in DXVK_HUD, when I use Proton 7.0-4, DXVK is reported as 1.10.3, but when I use Proton Experimental DXVK is reported as 1.10.1.

Shouldn't Experimental be using at the same or newer, not 2 versions back?

At times proton is superior to native

My girlfriend asked for an action game so I installed 'Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor' which has a native Linux version. It played okay through the tutorial, but as soon as we got to the main game it kept crashing with segmentation fault and the frame rate wasn't great either. Then I tried changing the compatibility to proton 7, it hasn't crashed since and much better frame rate.

Steam doesn't launch after switching to Nvidia Performance Mode

I'm on Ubuntu 22.04 and I installed CSGO. It was running at some 30fps which l lead me to believe it wasn't using my nvidia card. I installed Dirt Rally 2.0 and that works flawlessly with 60fps. So I searched online and stumbled upon this solution:

But this still didn't work. Anything else left for me to do?

Games not Launching with Steam at all.

Arch Linux Linux Zen Kernal Steam Runtune (Beta and Stable) Ryzen 1700X Radeon 5600XT

Install is up to date. Games running off of ext4 not ntfs drives.

Games loaded through lutris run just fine. Games run through bottles run just fine.

Games I've tried are Terraria, Sonic Mania, and Gunfire Reborn. Upon trying to play the game, nothing happens. Button just turns green for less than a second, then goes back to blue.

I tried running a game through Lutris (Gunfire Reborn) and it LOADS, but since it wasn't done through Steam, I get a Steam API error and it closes.

Steam is not printing and proton logs either despite using PROTON_LOG=1 %command%

Ran Steam through terminal and it basically tells me nothing lol.

Pic

Terraria has a Linux Native version but Steam refuses to install it and keeps opting for the Windows Version.

When trying to use SteamTinkerLaunch, upon loading it says it can't even find proton 7.0.4.

Despite it being an option in the drop down. Using various versions of proton/protonGE doesnt help either.

I swapped from Steam flatpak to Steam package via pacman, nothing.

I could really use some help troubleshooting, but I'm a linux novice.

Screenshot of Gunfire Reborn EXE booting via Lutris but unable to run because it wasnt through Steam

Same issue for 30XX as Gunfire

BUG FABLES LOADS JUST FINE THROUGH LUTRIS. Cannot launch through steam.

If anyone can help me that'd be great lol. If there is a discord where I can get some actual reliable/useful help as well that'd be great.

EDIT: Turns out the games wont launch of the commonwork redistributable isn on the same partition as the games themselves.

After moving my games.

Games started working just fine.

Help running GTA.

Heya, I'm Having trouble running GTA on steam and I'm wondering if anyone can help?
The issue is that whenever I launch, it comes up with an error saying it can't find direct 10 or 11.
I have done loads of looking around for solutions, but haven't found any that have worked.

Main things I have tired are:

  • Tinkering with steam launch options. Mostly stuff like PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1
  • Trying to switch my mesa version, but when I run glxinfo | grep core it still shows NVIDIA
  • Running through lutris
  • Installing DXVK

None of these have worked, they all stop at the same error. Any help much appreciated. It's weird because protondb says steam is gold-rated.

Football Manager Fails to Launch

I'm currently trying to run Football Manager on a remote server to then join from clients.

I've been using this docker container to spin it all up and access through VNC.

Everytime I boot Football Manager 22 via Steam it flashes a black screen and crashes.

Struggling to debug what could be wrong the ProtonDB indicates it should work.

I'm thinking something to do with Debian and having no Graphics card but struggling with where to look or what to change.
