.-=⋆ The More You Know Uncommon Motherboard/USB Compatibility

So I use an EVGA Z690 Classified Mobo.

When I was fooling around trying to run Bazzite on my PC I had nothing but issues with my peripherals. Turns out EVGA used a very uncommon USB controller which didnt have readily available drivers for Linux across the board.

So I guess this is just a warning for the like ten people who have an uncommon motherboard like EVGA.

Bummer. I don't have any eVGA motherboards currently, but loved them in the past. Never had any problems running Linux on them, so I think it must have been a change fairly late in life.

If you can find the MSI Z690/Z790 Pro boards, they work perfectly with Linux, plus they have coreboot available, which may make you excited someday. Also cheap as chips (if you can find them).

Yeah pretty much every other mobo in that generation used normal USB controllers. It probably has something to do with controllers that were tolerant for sub zero temps since its board folks would use for world records.

But im just gonna run this 12900K until I absolutely have to upgrade, hopefully by then the memory cartel gets blown to smithereens again and we can have some normal memory prices. Since ill probably go AMD then id probably need to change RAM depending on the QVL.
