Resolved Steam Family game saying I need to purchase it despite multiple copies and only 1 person being on it?
It's also saying I need to purchase ANY game from the Steam Family with no option to pick the game copy, even games that no one in the family has launched.
EDIT: Logging out and restarting Steam didn't fix it, although restarting my PC did fix it. Not sure what made it happen in the first place though.

Have you tried turning it off and back on again? This game supports family sharing, so my guess is that it's just a temporary glitch. I know it's clichƩ, but a reboot can fix all sorts of things.

Rebooting my PC fixed it, although fully rebooting Steam (log out & force close with Task Manager) didn't fix it

Might be different game versions or acquired DLCs. On KCD2 I have the deluxe edition while a family member only has the standard, so whenever heād play on the deluxe to try out the expansions Iād have to change āpreferred copiesā to avoid being blocked out or just wait until he was done once I got into the DLC.

Not every game is family compatible. Have it with a bunch of games. You'll need to check

Here some facts.
- The number of copies own in the group, is the number of people can play the game simultaneously.
If someone mark their game as private, this will opt their copy from family share.
You may need restart client, or PC if there hiccup by either client, or server. Note that every Tuesdays is maintenance day, so if client having issues, restart it, and hopefully fixes the issue.
Devs/Publishers can always opt in, or out for their games to be family shared, which affects whenever sharing, or not.

Likely down votes from trolls, haters, or people don't know how to read. I often piss off trolls, and haters easily calling them out for lies, and scams over the years, even educated people for Internet safety for security.
But don't worry about it, not going delete the post.

No I type it out because OP need to know how family share works, and how to resolve an issue hence the third point.

You can't play it because someone else is playing.
I don't see any indication that you are in a steam family. It doesn't show the option to choose a library copy, which it should when there are multiple owners.

The second picture shows the number 4 in the corner which indicates how many copies are in the family library.

I fully closed and restarted Steam and it didn't change, but when I restarted my PC it went back to normal, so I guess fixed? idk how it happened in the first place though

I was able to fix it by restarting my PC, but idk how it happened in the first place. We have 4 copies and everyone is still in the Family. I guess just random Steam bug

Logout of steam, fully close it from the taskbar, and launch it as admin. Works 90% of the time when family sharing licenses get stuck.
