Fluff That Was A Worthwhile Upgrade
Had a girl out at a pawn shop lookup my number to call me and let me know they had a OLED Steam deck 512gb they were trying to sell.
I owe her a milkshake and combo meal, she gave it to me for $400, was originally priced at $749. She said she knows I like that stuff and called me.
Now time to transplant the 2tb nvme from my original steam deck and put it in the OLED and vice versa with the 512gb!

It's funny i'd been scouring around a lot of the local pawn shops to see if I'd spot any oled and then she called me up. I seen it a couple times April and May but at $749 I passed over it and that time I wasn't aware it was a OLED.

Don't be that guy who looks back at this in ten years and says "wait, was she hitting on me??" (Cuz she probably is)

Or was she just building rapport... ?? A lot of people tend to confuse the two, or just not even care.
I'm the type who would wait till we bumped into each other elsewhere, then gauge how it goes. Inside a place of busines, is just not giving a damn about boundaries.
Otherwise d2m and looking too hard, finding everything you don't want.

You're getting down voted but I will tell you anecdotally women do not like to be approached on their job usually
I've also found personally that giving out my number is easier than asking for someone else's
If you ask for their number they're giving you some of their personal information BUT if you give them your number they can dispose of it as they see fit with what I think of as less pressure
But I've never really been hit on at work

We both agree, so why am I being down voted? LMAO
Something's upside down or backwards here. π
Down vote doesn't matter either way.
I only had one relationship at work, and I was the one to pump the brakes, the gf attempted to start a make out session in the break room and I said we shouldn't not here. It was in 96 a good while ago.

Because this sub is filled with boys who have no idea about dating, or anything regarding how women or attraction work...Β
She was doing her job, the is no reason to assume more, and hitting on someone at work is terrible.Β

Naw, ya know it's for me doing my job, as a man, being wrong even when I'm acting right! J/K'ing π

Crazy that youβre being downvoted for wanting to treat retail workers as human

Right, I'm shopping for games, not humans! Correct me if I'm wrong here but, I believe shopping for humans could lead to a felony, if taken too far! π€£

I've always been the goofy outspoken introvert.
So trust me I already know the conflict of inner dialogue!
Ten years what I remember about that is being with a girl for 8 years and being engaged, and then her passing away due to her past struggles and an addiction catching up to her and COVID taking her life!
So it's still kind of a hurdle for me to move on and past from.

Addiction is hell. Sorry for you loss.

Right that was my lesson to not try and be Mr Captain save A hoe, she moved out here from Texas lost all her plugs, didn't know anyone who shared her same addiction, and then of all places she happened to hire a new coworker who was in that same addiction, heroin kept cleaning and reusing the same stem >>> endocarditis into her blood system, then fever and heart complications and that's all she wrote. When the coworkers bf called my finances father he just blurted out "I'm sorry we tried to save her and kept giving her pills, but couldn't" I was furious af wanting to go let hell loose and her father just said "whoa whoa WTF wait a minute, what was all that you're talking about" and I mean I can't be mad at them because you know in that state of mind the addict is more worried about getting in trouble for using drugs and everything else they're more still paranoid and not completely thinking straight, I can only be mad at that the addiction. Plus the fact that a lot of states don't take it seriously, I really wished when she had violated her bond probation that they wouldn't just keep giving her a new bond, ffs have someone there for maybe 90 days to cleanse the toxicity from the system, or maybe 120 days, especially how the courts are a lot more easier and less harsh on women and just giving them a little slap on the wrist and saying don't do that again. That doesn't help one single bit.

I worked at a thrift store for 3 years and there were a few "regulars" (they were all little old ladies) whom of which when they'd come in and they'd offer the coworkers bottles of water and unopened prepackaged cookies, so I look at that as not being as bad as just straight up hitting on an employee who's job role is that she's to be polite, friendly and thoughtful to customers.
I'll just give her a Bolthouse Protein Plus Banana Honey Almond Butter drink and Jumbo iced honey bun, just to be goofy.
I did think something that you can see the seal on and hasn't been broken.
If I did it at all though, I'd be sure to get 3 more since the store typical had 4 employees always there.

You can just say you're not that interested in her. Just because she likes you (she does) doesn't mean you need to be receptive to it and you can still be nice and appreciative.

I'll let you scroll down below this post, and read cwx149's perspective on it.
As previously stated, I'm not that type of guy to misread too deeply into some common things, or go overstepping far to much.
It's just about knowing how to carry yourself and having dignity and consideration for others.
The one user who made it blatantly obvious that she's a girl, looks at it the same way as I do. So that tells me more than just oh she's flirting.
I've never been that low enough to do that either, it's just standards and morals.
I mean if a guy is picking up women employees as partners from the places he shops at, what's that really say about him? He's kind of really starting to pick from the bottom of the barrel then I'd think!
I'll also add, chances are strong that that type of person has more failed relationships than successful ones.

I'm that same way about not hitting on people at their place of work. For one, I fell like they'd feel trapped if the feeling wasn't mutual. Like, you know where they work and can just show up. On the flip side I've told this same feeling to close female friends and they've told me I should still go ahead and ask a girl out at their work. (I still proceeded not to)...idk man, everyone is different

To reverse the tables I had a girl cashier at rite aid, try and pull the flirtatious move on me, just to ask for a donation to whatever charity. Man WTF, sneaky and slick! Hahaha! She looked like she was fresh out of graduating high school, but even still they pull those moves, to get better tips and so on.

Flirt with me all you want, that's not how I base my tips. Now, throw some extra bacon on my plate...now we're talking.

Gosh, I hope this isn't the kind of thing the guys I help in my tech job think when I'm trying to save them some cash. What's with everyone here thinking that doing something kind means she's hitting on OP? Like, she could be. I'm not her. I don't know. But that's a weird, massive logical jump to make? At least OP is a normal,. likeable person π enjoy the steam deck! You got a great deal! Totally not jealous at all! Wishing you nothing but the best!

Oh I had a funny situation happen to me, I was managing a PC repair store from 2010 to 2014, hired a female technician, I was the only guy being professional with her all the other coworkers were attempting to make moves or using her number for non-work related stuff, to say the least. After I walked out and quit over a pay dispute, (6 weeks later everyone else quit cause of the same reason to put it lightly and the store shut down)I had some stuff up for sale in fbmktpl that she bought, literally it was a 1 gallon milk jug of soda tabs she bought for her and her kids arts and crafts project and she told me she's been being a naughty girl thinking about me. Hahaha
That which persists, resists. Is the way I look at it, after that. If she likes me enough, she'll let me know, otherwise you're on an endless to nowhere.

Lol what a turn of events! I feel like I'm about to leave over a pay dispute, too! I'm sure you treating her like a normal person gained a lot of points in her book lol!

More than likely I'd hope, we still talk.
Uh oh not you too, the guy tried to beg me to comeback, I gave him a slim chance, and how I knew to just say fuck it was he offered to buy some burned copies of windows and I had hunted down some other specific PC software for, he was going to give me a mere $20 for everything and didn't have the money, I let him have, but it was a dead end with any business opportunities he had for me from then on.
I even taught him how to trick windows 10bin recovery mode by interrupting the boot process and everything way back then, and helped land us a high dollar repair deal, everyone was turning down a customer cause his equipment they knew nothing about at all, it was a county public water system meter reader serial connector and you had to go into command prompt and change the ports and reorder them or open into to get the software to detect it. It was $1200.00 piece of equipment and they paid us $800 just cause I said yeah we'll take and I'll research and see what we can get done.
Sadly I walked over one pay commission I was expecting any other pay cause I was out sick the rest of the week and friend who worked there was trying to beg me to stay I said shit for what I'm not getting if he's doing this and a broke man doesn't have anything to lose. That was it.
