The more I work on a modlist the more I realize that it's really bothering me to have all these medieval retextures and rustic looking aesthetics while Sam talks about skateboarding and Maru builds robots.

Would I be insane for wanting to just... rewrite it? Like just overhaul the games dialogue to remove a bunch of more modern technology/references and phrase things more neutrally to fit in with the way back old timey aesthetics.

Is there a limit to the amount of dialogue before content patcher starts throwing in the towel? Would anyone else even benefit from this??? Where would you even draw the line, would it just be removing references to things like video games or am I signing on for a full conversion??

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

For example the chest connected to the mayonnaise maker.

Is there a mod that adds the pokemon piloswine or swinub without replacing other animals? Im new and want to make a pig sanctuary with lots of different looking pigs, I love the mod Em’s pigs and am looking for any other pig or boar mods i could have alongside it

100% blaming a previous post on this subreddit by u/crankyteddy (anyone know how to link the post?) BUT I've had an idea and if I'm genuinely gonna go down this rabbit hole, I figure sharing it here might help me actually commit (cause my ADHD absolutely never gets the better of me).

Thoughts: I want to create an NPC. I mentioned some other mods I'd love to learn to do in the aforementioned post. The easiest base would be to make a first NPC based on myself: nerdy, LGBTQ+, 2nd generation American, and on a mission to make a difference.

Idea: if I created a fleshed out story to "digitize" SDV by a trans, nerdy NPC, would anyone besides myself be interested? SDV is rural and a big movement in rural America right now is to spread broadband (internet) infrastructure across the nation so that *everyone* has access to crucial services and necessities that internet provides. NPC would work with the local communities to establish Community Anchor Institutions (like the library, a school, and/or town hall) to get the movement started. There could be competing Internet Service Providers like Joja and a path to choose either Joja or community-supported Internet. Then community programs like devices for those who can't afford it (like maybe Pam?) and skills training classes for people who aren't familiar, telehealth for Harvey, online shopping stores...

The more I think about this, the bigger the Idea gets. It's definitely more than I can chew, but I'm gonna try. But would it be worth anyone else's interest in the SDV community or am I just really, really nerding out on a niche interest that no one cares to see?

I've been using Stardrop to manage my mods. I've seen several posts saying that Vortex is more error-prone than Stardrop, but I've started trying mod collections, which recommend using Vortex. Could I get some thoughts on the advantages and disadvantages of switching. If I were to switch, can I import my current mod profile into Vortex? Thanks!

I'm challenging myself to do a flower-only run, and I'm wondering if I can hide specific crops entirely with any mods.

(Would be extra nice if I could specifically hide crop _seeds_ so I could theoretically get crops as gifts/on the cart etc for cooking but still don't see/be able to grow them. )

Just found a really cool Pokémon mod for Stardew Valley. It adds every generation of Pokémon to the game that you can raise like livestock.

The mod is called Pokémon Eggventure - Day Care. To get the Pokémon, you need to find their respective egg, incubate it in a coop or barn, and raise it. The more a Pokémon trusts you, the higher chance it has to evolve.

I'm working on my first SMAPI/Harmony mod and I'm trying to change the gifts that Magnus (the Wizard from Stardew Valley Expanded) gives his spouse.

My long-term goal is to create a configurable mod that lets players customize spouse gifts (items, probabilities, etc.) for vanilla spouses and SVE spouses.

I've spent several days reverse-engineering the game with ILSpy, but I'm clearly missing something. So far I've determined that:

• NPC.receiveGift() is only for the player giving gifts to NPCs.
• NPC.checkAction() doesn't appear to generate spouse gifts.
• NPC.marriageDuties() definitely runs every morning (I confirmed this with a Harmony patch), but I haven't found any gift-generation logic there.
• I also checked SVE's code and haven't found any obvious override or custom spouse gift implementation.

What I'm trying to find is the actual code path that decides "today the spouse gives the player a gift" and creates the item.

Is this handled:

• somewhere in the vanilla game rather than SVE?
• during the start-of-day logic?
• as part of the dialogue system?
• or somewhere else entirely?

If anyone knows the class or method where the spouse gift is actually generated, I'd really appreciate being pointed in the right direction. At this point I think I've spent more time searching than coding! 😅

So I had folders before I started using Stardrop. I still have mods in the folders. If I want to recognize them in Stardrop. Can I just move them, or do I need to re-download them?

Is there a mod that allows me to date the travel cart lady? I honestly really really wish it would be possible!

I don't know what's causing these weird tiles around the valley (especially these stone paths) when I use Overgrown Valley. This only happens in winter for some reason and its been bothering me :(. If anyone knows what's causing this buggy look from my game then help would be greatly appreciated.

This mod takes over 60 vanilla furniture items, each one re-textured into 6 different fruit themes (apple, apricot, cherry, orange, peach, pomegranate), for a total of over 400 items! 

• Alternative Textures:

Most are re-colours of items originally from the vanilla Furniture Catalogue, with a few that are only available in special circumstances. Can you find them all?

• Content Patcher: 

A custom catalogue to hold it all, available @ Robin's for only 1,000g. Bonus: You don't need to find or obtain the items that aren't in the vanilla Furniture Catalogue, since they are included!

Which items? Some museum and secret note rewards, a couple of Desert Festival pieces, and all 3 beds from Penny's 14-heart event.

The Catalogue is optional; if you want to keep it all in the vanilla one, just delete the folder "Tutti Fruity Furniture Catalogue"

I do plan on adding more fruits in the future.

Ive gotten a ton of content mods to make the game fresh like RSV, SVE, etc, but I want to try to make sure they don't make the game any easier, or at least not significantly, as I want a challange too. For example, I played sve a bit in the past, didn't get past summer, and I noticed one of the caves has very very expensive fish, which are close to him and kind of broken. I want to be able to remove that fish without getting rid of the entire cave. Also the rsv shop is open on Wednesdays, taking away from the need to work around Wednesdays being closed, that's something i also want to remove.

And then there's the Immersive farm two options that makes the farm less packed in the beginning, which I don't want either.

Before I start my save and get serious, can someone who knows lots content mods well point out anything that would make the game alot easier, so I can remove it or edit the mod? As far as I know there's not too much, but I only got two ish months in to my previous run.

I want to download lots of different hairs that I find, but I don't know how the game numbers them. Will it mess up my previous downloads?

Me and my friends are playing a small modpack I made, and everytime they get a LOT of erros involving Jonghyuck, but, it doesn't apper on my SMAPI, only theirs.

I've been working on outlining a modlist for a week or so now aimed at experienced players looking for a more difficult/slow paced game, kind of like an expert Minecraft modpack. I'd like to keep the game accessible even for people without experience in "modded" communities for other games, so I'm hoping for any and all input from people of all experience levels and interests!

In particular I'm really wanting to hear from people what sorts of mechanics or things would turn you away from a modlist.

If you also play with any mods that rebalance aspects of the game (like overhauls etc) then also feel free to talk about them! I'd love to pick people's brains a bit on how they like the game to feel so I can start solidifying my mod choices and putting things together.

i renamed my mods folder while organizing my files, but this was also around the time stardew valley had an update(a few months ago), so that might have also bugged my mods.

i tried uninstalling and redownloading smapi, content patcher, and my mods multiple times, but it didnt work.

idk what my mod folder was named before i changed it but im assuming it was simply "mods", i cant change it back because it says i alr have a file with that name.

i gave up and decided to play vanilla.

now its summer time and the yellow ground is so ugly i need shaders i cant take it :'), nothing i do seems to fix it.

For some reason my mods seem to be making the fish availabilities weird, despite me not installing any mods that change the fish availability/behavior. (Catching octopus all seasons, spring squid, sunny walleye etc) — and the goby seems to be completely uncatchable. I know the location is right because I've caught goby before in other save files. I have level 10 fishing and I also item spawned goby bait, magic bait, and curiosity lures to try out. After like 100 catches in various seasons/weather/time conditions, nothing.

The lookup anything mod doesn't provide any 'catch info' for the goby, like crab pot fish. I might be misremembering but I recall it being listed properly (all seasons and time/waterfalls) in other save files, so I assume there's just no way to catch it? Visible Fish also doesn't show the goby in the waterfall.

Is there a mod that would allow me to catch the goby somehow? Like a guarantee specific fish regardless of conditions mod? I do need it for the fishing collection and I really don't want to use perfection waivers bc of this weird glitch :(

All the other fish seem to be available (even if the conditions are weird) to me, it's just goby.
