Hello everyone,
I start my lab program at SLC this September, and was wondering if anybody could speak on the workload. Specifically, I am wondering how it compares to a science undergrad. I did a 4 year bio sci program at Guelph and am curious if I’ll find myself just as busy, more, or less. I know it’s different for everybody but I would love to hear different experiences. I hear this program is pretty heavy and competitive.
Thanks!

Hello, I’m planning to sign up for this program and I was wondering if the assessments for this program usually require you to do a lockdown browser and also I can’t figure out how to add a flair on this post 😭

If your name is Jhanvi, I have your student ID that you left on the 501 express bus and is safe with me. Let's help find the person so I can reunite the ID badge with her.
Thanks

Has anyone been in contact with financial aid recently?? I’ve been emailing for the past 3 weeks and I haven’t gotten one response, I even emailed student advisor and they added FA to the chain and still no answer.
I really need a response because it will help me determine if i will be attending school in the fall.

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some insight from current students or graduates from the Med Lab Science program at St. Lawrence College or other colleges in Ontario that offer the MLS program. I don't see much information on Reddit and other forums about the program so I'm looking for some insight to know more of what I'm getting myself into. How was your experience in the program? If there's something you wish you would've known/done as a first year, what would it be?
I've been out of school for a few years and I don't have a post-secondary background in science. What can I do to prepare during the summer?
Any advice, study tips, good or bad experience are welcome :) TIA

I just got accepted into St Lawrences vet tech program, and i am very excited, but I am 24 and dont have housing set up. Id prefer not to do on campus living, does anyone know if there are websites or social media pages for mature students looking for housing in the area? I definitely cannot afford to live alone, so ideally 1 or 2 roommates around my age. If anyone knows where too look that would be very helpful!

So i went to my graduation convocation today. Super weird and honestly terrible experience. Firstly they announced doors would open 30 minutes later then planned so a large number of us had to wait another 30 minutes outside.
Then, during the ceremony, i had to use the restroom. At no point were we told we would absolutely NOT be allowed to even use the restroom during the 2.5 hour ceremony; they only asked that we stay for the entire thing(which i respect)
Me and another student tried to leave and use the restroom and was greeted by an extremely aggressive slc staff demanding us to go back sit down immediately. I told her no i need to use the restroom, this went back and forth until she told me to go to sercurity, which i did, and they had no problem letting me pass to use the washroom.
Honestly, ruined the event for me. Is this a common experience?

I will be going to SLC Cornwall in September 2026 for practical nursing. I will be commuting from Ottawa. Looking for others who will also be commuting or who will be in class with me! I've been out of school for a while now and I'm nervous about starting over not knowing anyone.

Hey guys! I’m a female who’s been out of school for a while now and I’ll be a new student at SLC in Cornwall taking the Pre-Health program this September!
I went to Algonquin College in Ottawa 7 years ago and had a horrible experience due to the school layout getting back and forth to classes, teachers locking me out, etc.
I wanted to know if anyone here has taken the Pre-Health program in Cornwall and what your experience was.
If so, how did you like it, and if any of you will also be taking the Pre-Health program this year let me know as I’d love to chat with some previous graduates or some new classmates!! 💗😃

Hey guys,
Has anyone heard from the school or moved up the waitlist for the first year bachelor of nursing program? In the last movement in May, I only moved up one spot. So, I’m wondering if there’s been any movement or anything since then.
