I grew up with comic books in the ’90s, and Spawn held a special place in my heart.

It started in 1997 and ran until 1999, with a new issue every two months. Each Hungarian issue collected two US issues, for a total of 18 issues, covering the original series up to #37, omitting that weird 10th issue.

For the first few issues, the logo even had a Hungarian subtitle underneath it: “Ivadék”. They dropped it after only a few issues, probably because it sounded a bit awkward.

Another thing I vividly remember is the print quality. In the first year, it was printed on glossy, coated paper, making them look incredibly premium. At the time, there were no Hungarian comics looking this good, same for the artwork. Later they switched to matte, uncoated paper, presumably as a cost-cutting measure.

I was only seven when it came out, living in the middle of Romania in a Hungarian-speaking region in a 40k town, so it’s quite the feat Spawn it made as far as my little hometown. It completely blew me and my friends away, we thought it was real adult shit, making Spider-man look like the Care Bears.

Of course, as an adult it’s amusing how juvenile Spawn can really get, but it’s all part of its charm. Looking back, it was one of the most memorable parts of my childhood.

The photos are from my own collection. You can also spot some of the original Hungarian ads printed throughout the books, which are a fun little snapshot of the late ’90s.

The older brother of andy frank who grew up to become the third and most iconic Redeemer. From his origins to now becoming Reaper and having a future version of Eddie Frank still The Redeemer.

Should he get his own solo series now?

• His first appearance is spawn #29 as himself in 1995.
• He first appears as Redeemer in Spawn #116 in 2002.
• His debut as Reaper in Spawn #300 in 2019.
• The future version of Eddie Frank still Redeemer debuts in Spawn #312 in 2020.

I went to Gamestop edge controller module, and decided to browse. Dude checking me out was a fan as well, had the logo on his inner forearm.

What is spawn packing inside there?

Haunt debute din his 28 issue run and it ended on a cliffhanger.

He was later used as a supporting character in wider spawn universe and a promenant member of the scorched.

So haunt was used as a supporting character in spawn universe with scorched being his most common place. The Agency he used to work for is now run by jason wynn. Amanda killgore also returns in scorched. Haunt has new enemies in rue a female haunt and the guy from issues 48-49.

Mini series can bridge his appearansce in the original series and spawn universe.

So how would the haunt mini work in Spawn universe?

I need some advice for a drawing I'm going to do who should I draw besides spawn in something like this

I was in Walmart for something else completely unrelated, but while in the movie section, several films had glow in the dark slipcovers... than I spotted this Spawn DVD at the bottom! I used to own the animated series on VHS, and I already own the steelbook DVD, but I'm glad to have this in my collection 😎

Brett Booth is such an amazing artist and it’s already been 67 days without his amazing artwork on spawn. I miss him already and I want him to come back to more spawn titles but, haven’t seen this man get booked for anything in spawn. If a haunt series is ever confirmed I hope this man does it.

After rereading every spawn comic. This guy is one of the strongest Hellspawn in the verse. Only ones who are stronger then him are Omega spawn. And al simmons during armaggedon.

Why show this ability off about medieval spawn in a cover art (yes I know this is a homage to x-men and cyclops does it but why not make medieval spawn instead do is shoot necropolis out of his hands rather than his eyes since it’s more accurate) and never actually use it in the comic.

Since joe frank eddie and andy's father came back to life as a revenant in the scorched comics and we get to see eddie and andy's mother who was abused by their dad to the point of sucide will we see Vicotira the angel who lost her wings to violator ,became a vmapire,and eddie's wife return in the current spawn era? Since eddie di brefily became a vampire again during the depowered issues from 351-360 and vicotria kinda needs a comeback again with a new design.

Also I think Snake that drug dealer from issue 58 that died and made a fralshback cameo in scorched 40. If joe frank was brought back to life agian as a revenant i think it can also work for snake as a recurring foe for eddie and the scorched. Maybe he can even team up with joe frank to a tag team combo against the scorhced and eddies.

Finally the biggest one from eddie frank's past is Andy Frank Eddie protected him and he moved into adoption care while eddie frank become the most iconic redeemer and reapper these days with another eddie from a future timeline still being redeemer. Andy is still metioned and seen in flashbacks and joe fank killed guys named andy shows andy hasn't been forgotten.

How would Andy Frank look older when he returns again maybe giving him an effement slender pretty boy look with black and white hair to constract his dad and brother with an emo/goth asethic. He proably lived a normal life with his new family,friends,and a girfrilend until some gang war happened. A theroy i saw one user talked about was turning him into a hellspawn maybe the bomb al made in 301 against clown and godsend energy time bomb gave Andy frank his hellspawn powesr and slaughtered everyone that was involed with his loved ones death before turning to a villain going after the inocennt. Maybe he becomes an enemy to his brother eddie as a hellspawn just like this user suggest on discord.

I hope Matthew rosenberg's run for both spawn and king spawn is to use Omega Spawn and Nightmare Spawn as main villains for his era.

He is making spawn the superman style run and King Spawn the batman style run.

So i figured why make theroy on how the 400 leader could be omega spawn and nightmare spawn behind the copycats and hudson hill visions.

the 400 units aliens,demons,angels,and vampires. Aliens have become more priment since monolith debut giving us the planet eaters and commander belgic. Omega became a space tyrant so it would make sense he would be the leader of the 400 and he is perfect for it since mainline spawn by matthew rosenberg made it the superman run and omega is the alien space threat superman deals with kinda like zod,braniac,mongul,darkseid,and doomsday.

For Nightmare Spawn, since King spawn by rosenberg is the batman title it makes sence Nightmare spawn is like a mix of batman villains such as joker,scarecrow,mad hatter,riddle,and hugo strange. He has the dream weaver and nightmare weaver. he can also be the mastermind behind smiling man,ordeal,and the first spawn copycat in king spawn53 who is his brother he talked to in the first king spawn issue.

So do you think Matthew would use Omega Spawn and Nightmare spawn for his run or someone else that is new?

I also want Omega to be redeemed from his poor showings from monolith and omega island as a true villain threat and giving nightmare spawn more spotlight.

At one point she was irredeemable, the cliche femme fatale that burned her parents alive when she was a teenager

But all that seems to have been retconned including her mom now being alive?

Was it ever explained that I missed, or was her character just rewritten over the years?
