A little tip for everyone here

If you want to find some songs similar to one specific song or with a similar vibe, ypu can use spotify for that. Just create a playlist and add the songs you already know, and spotify will recommend similar ones. It definitely worked for me! I don't know if y'all knew that before, but i just wanted to say it in case anyone didn't.

Looking for song recs

Upvotes

Im looking for songs recommendations that give "if you don't then someone else will" bonus points of the topic is dancing lol. Too specific of a vibe to just search itself and all I'm finding is old 70s music. looking for something a little more fun and petty.

edit: thank you for coming in clutch, loving the recs so far. looking for more vibes like "Dance With Somebody Else" by Twinnie, that same kind of "if you don't someone else will" whether it's dancing specific or not. that's been the most perfect example so far.

Help me find a hard launch song

Upvotes

Me and my bf are going to hard launch on insta, but I want to find the perfect song.

His favourite bands/artists are Avenged Sevenfold, Polyphia, Laufey, 311, Van Halen and The Beatles.

My favourite bands/artists are Van Halen, Billy Idol, Eagles, Polyphia, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Kelsy Karter, Avril Lavigne and anything classic rock.

Any suggestions? And if possible tell me which lyrics to use.

What does Angèle's song 'Dis-Le' sound like?

Upvotes

Can anyone identify what genre this would fit into or recommend similar songs?

The Belgian singer Angèle just came out with a new song that leans more heavily into dance/club music than her previous work. I am trying to figure out what it sounds like/reminds me of, but keep hitting dead ends.

It's sort of house, but not quite. The music video alludes to the free party scene, and freetekno, but it's not quite that either. It's not hyperpop, nor is it really drum n' bass. She seems to have been leaning into French touch lately, but this song doesn't really have that funk element and it's a bit darker / grungier.

It's got a bit of an early 2000s alternative dance pop thing going on, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Thank you in advance for your ideas! ✨

The Mirror Beneath the Tide

Beneath the waves where silence keeps
The oldest echoes never sleep.
The deep remembers every flame,
The truth survives though lost to names.

The ancient seer walked with Light,
Shown hidden halls beyond our sight.
Mountains guarded mysteries still,
Where chains restrained rebellious will.

Not every voice deserves a throne,
Pride builds a prison of its own.
Love is the key that breaks the stone,
The heart decides what spirit’s grown.

The war begins behind the eyes,
Between the truth and sweet disguise.
The strongest soul is not the loud—
It’s mercy standing through the crowd.

Look in the mirror, wake the fire!
Rise even higher, higher!
Love is the thunder breaking chains,
Healing the heart through joy and pain.

Justice is louder than revenge,
Grace is the power that never bends.
Heaven is planted where hearts forgive,
That’s where the Kingdom starts to live.

The deepest sea reflects the sky,
Creation whispers, “Choose your life.”
The chains are warnings, not our fate;
Each soul still walks a living gate.

Some build kingdoms out of pride,
Leaving compassion crucified.
But every child still lives within,
Waiting to breathe and rise again.

Needs build a house that love can fill.
Wants chase a shadow standing still.
One path consumes, one path restores;
The quiet heart unlocks the doors.

Listen…
The battlefield ain’t made of stone, it’s every choice that we call home.
Power without love becomes another cage.
Knowledge without wisdom just rewrites the page.
Truth ain’t a weapon, it’s a lantern to share.
Justice isn’t hatred, it’s refusing despair.

Feed your spirit before your ego.
Build your character before your castle.
The loudest voice isn’t always the leader;
The strongest soul becomes the healer.

Every reaction plants another seed.
Every intention grows into a deed.
Needs give life. Greed keeps score.
Love keeps opening another door.

The child inside still knows the way.
Wonder can outshine yesterday.
Look past the masks, the labels, the blame.
The Light keeps calling every name.

Look in the mirror, hear the sound!
Lost hearts are being found.
The storm is turning into rain,
Washing away the fear and shame.

Truth and compassion side by side,
Nothing real has got to hide.
The Light keeps calling, “Come alive!”
Love is the reason we survive.

The sea still sings beneath the foam.
The mountain waits, but love leads home.
The mirror asks what you’ll become
A heart that’s closed… or rising like the sun.

Eyes of Fire

Every child walks through an unwritten flame,
Learning who’s wearing love and who’s wearing a name.
Crowns made of paper, thrones made of smoke,
Promises louder than the truth they broke.

One heart whispers, “Lift your neighbor high.”
Another learns power from the oldest lie.
The loudest shadow fills the room with fear,
While the quiet soul keeps Heaven near.

Some chase mirrors until they become the glass.
Some break chains and let compassion last.
One road feeds the hunger of the hollow throne.
One leads the weary spirit home.

I won’t bow to the kingdom of pretending.
I won’t trade my heart for an empty ending.
Love is stronger than a borrowed crown.
Truth keeps rising when the walls fall down.

The blind may cheer for the loudest voice,
But every soul still owns a choice.
Light keeps calling through the darkest night
Stand up… become the light.

One-eyed giants walking with invisible chains,
Drinking every heartbeat just to feed their names.
Frozen smiles hiding hearts of stone,
Calling themselves kings while standing alone.

Sweet-talking whispers wrapped in velvet disguise,
Trading living truth for comfortable lies.
The humble look broken through the world’s cruel lens,
Yet Heaven keeps calling them daughters and friends.

Started in the playground, nobody knew,
Watching every grown-up teaching what was true.
Some learned mercy, some learned blame,
Some wore masks till they forgot their name.

Building little kingdoms out of fear and shame,
Passing down the fire like it earned them fame.
Pointing every finger while the mirror stayed cracked,
Running from the truth they never unpacked.

But the scars became a map instead of a cage,
Turning every wound into a brand-new page.
I thank the child that carried all that weight.
I forgive the hands that was taught to hate.

Now the chains hit the ground with a thunderous sound.
Love’s the only kingdom that can turn this around.

The fire was never meant to make us ashes.
It burns away the mask until the truth flashes.
No borrowed throne can outshine grace.
No counterfeit can steal love’s place.

When forgiveness breaks the oldest spell,
Even wounded hearts rise strong and well.
The battle ends where compassion starts
Heaven is written inside awakened hearts.

Looking for new additions to my playlist. I like metal, punk, rock, ska, but I’m very open to other genres ! I like artists like Gorillaz, System of a Down, Måneskin, the Offsprings, Tagada Jones, etc… I like some chill songs and video games soundtrack/themes a lot too.

Any songs that has the same vibe as "A Big Day Ahead"?

Hi, yes so, exactly like the title said I am searching for bgm or songs that has the same essence as *A Big Day Ahead*, I loved it ever since watching the first episode.

It's the kind of songs that gentle enough through the ear but still pump up your days, most of the song that is energizing feels a bit too loud (orchestra-wise) in my ear and I'm not a big fan of chill music in general.

If there's a specific genre of this exact song, I would like to hear more of it!

Echoes in the Dust

Echoes in the Dust

They reached beyond the sacred line,
Trading truth for glittering signs.
Giants walked with towering pride,
Leaving broken hearts behind.

Enoch climbed where silence burned,
Saw the pages still unturned.
He watched the heavens testify,
While shadows whispered polished lies.

The flood erased the flesh from earth,
But hatred searched another birth.
Where envy found an open door,
The ancient hunger asked for more.

Every mirror tells a tale,
Every soul can choose the trail.
Chains are forged from unchecked pride,
Or shattered when we look inside.

Wake the fire beneath your soul,
Don’t let darkness steal control.
Voices calling, smooth as gold,
Selling crowns already sold.

Stand where love and courage meet,
Truth is never in retreat.
Every heartbeat draws the line
Choose the light while there’s still time.

The loudest throne can still be dust,
Power breaks without true trust.
Blame becomes a polished shield,
While honest hearts refuse to yield.

The helm they brought was fear and war,
Making neighbors keep the score.
Every mask became a face,
Mercy vanished without a trace.

Yet every dawn still breaks the night,
Calling sleepers toward the light.
Freedom waits with open hands
Love, not force, is Heaven’s plan.

Who’s pulling strings when nobody’s looking?
Who writes the script while the headlines are cooking?
Pointing fingers, building kingdoms, feeding every empty throne.
Truth gets buried under noise until deception feels like home.

Giant egos wearing halos, shouting, “I’m the only way!”
Never facing what they’re planting, harvesting another day.
Every lie that dodges justice leaves another chain to grow.
Every soul that owns its shadows plants a brighter seed to sow.

Enoch saw beyond the curtain, not to make the fearful freeze,
But to tell us every heartbeat bends the future to our knees.
You can’t conquer hate with hatred. You can’t heal by feeding blame.
The strongest warrior stands humble, lets the refining fire change.

The battle isn’t flesh alone
It’s every choice to harden stone,
Or let compassion break the walls
Before another empire falls.

Raise your eyes above the smoke,
Hear the ancient promise spoken.
Darkness echoes, light replies;
Truth is living, never dies.

Walk the road where mercy leads,
Faith is louder than deceit.
Every soul must freely choose
Love’s the victory we can’t lose.

The dawn is calling… can you hear?
Hope keeps rising year by year.
When the sleeping finally see,
The chains will break… and all are free.

Songs with the beauty of ceilings by Lizzy McAlpine

I recently heard ceilings and it's probably the most beautiful song I've heard. It feels like every chord and note is perfectly placed, especially during the second verse. I'm not sure what the musical terminology for this is, but I wonder what other songs have the same beautiful chords/progression/whatever it's called. Please let me know if you have any recommendations!

Song Recommendations Needed for the 10 year anniversary of my friend’s house burning down

Her childhood home burned down 10 years ago and her dad saved her life but then he died like a year later. I suggested a bonfire with s’mores, but alas that is not happening. So we have music. Current playlist:

We Didn’t Start The Fire (Billy Joel and Fall Out Boy versions)
Fireball
I Don’t Want to set the World on Fire

"Pop-punk" albums made entirely of ballads/sad songs? (or mall-emo)

(I posted this in the pop-punk sub earlier) i'm looking for albums that every song (or, at least, most of) sound like pop-punk ballads. "A Twist in My Story" by Secondhand Serenade is my all-time favorite album. Another exemple is "Dusk and Summer" by Dashboard Confessional, which has a few upbeat songs but most of them are pop-punk ballads.

Songs similar to Waiting to Spill - The Backseat Lovers

I’ve always loved this whole album but never been able to pin its genre. It’s like just on the cusp of being rock but there’s enough other elements to make it not rock idk. Anyway, would love to hear some recs!

Top 3:
Slowing Down
Morning in the Aves
Growing/Dying

Edit: I especially like the build up and pay off to these songs
