Discussion Some musings on Se

Upvotes

I find descriptions of Se from Aushra somewhat weird in terms of how that information can be used and was thinking about what it might actually imply.

Se is a static and extraverted element, it is focused on external properties of objects. All elements are connected with their extraverted/introverted counterpart. For Se, it is Si; which is a dynamic and introverted element that focuses on how processes happening in the space each other.

"Space" is used in connection with Si in some descriptions, like strong Si users knowing how space affects people/how people are feeling inside of it, how they can change it to make more comfortable and harmonious etc.

Objects in space have multiple properties, but I think "mass" is the one that might be behind most of the Se stereotypes. Se generally associated with things like force, willpower, assertiveness etc. but I think they are just byproducts of processed information.

Difference between strong and weak elements are, being able to trust and use the information with confidence. Strong Se users are able to evaluate "mass" of others(think of it as a more theoratical property not just weight lol), and going to the classic formula from physics:

F=m*a ---> m = F/a

It can be said knowing mass of the object, leads to knowing how much force is needed to move something(or someone). Another thing also would be similar to gravitational force, by knowing their own mass and others mass, they know how to stand their ground.

Base is accepting and evaluatory, it collects and processes information like a database and works continuously. Se bases would evaluate and uses this information naturally and somehow automatically. Creative is situational and producing. Se creatives would evaluate mass and decide how it should be based on circumstances.

What do you think?

Discussion About demonstrative Fe then tell me your demonstrative experience, s’il vous plait

*Im having second thoughts about this but ill leave it up in case anyone has any ideas, the demonstrative function is the producing function, and I’m really focusing on Fe in its receiving role here, so I’m not sure

think our demonstrative functions go unnoticed by us because we use them so well and so often. Even that it may be possible to confuse the libido direction of the source of the information.

I had believed that I was using NeFi primarily when estimating authenticity. It makes sense on its face possibility/resonance. Maybe, but I think Fe is where the action is. Fe is registration of internal activation and it’s so easy for me it that it might as well be breathing and I wouldn’t understand not seeing it. The mental ring part is harder, but that’s where the more interesting things can happen. I just think it’s amazing that this thing that comes up as a trait of IEE, seeing authenticity, is likely also available to SEE in a similar way, and it’s actually just a surface level observation of the IEE or SEE type.

What’s this like for you guys?

can someone help explain the difference between ESE and SEE?

i need a little help deciding between the both since according to cognitive functions I’m an ESFP but based on the vague descriptions I’ve read of SEE I don’t feel like I suit it

Were you introverted/extroverted as a young kid?

saying this cuz Carl Jung (which is NOT the case for socionics) said a person‘s introversion/extroversion was assigned at birth in his book, but a lot of people will have a different manner than their childhood adter they grow up.

Take me as an example, my mom said as a toddler I was awkward when socializing and avoided my peers, but when I got a little older I got really bold. now as an adult while I love working with people, my social battery drains fast(and recharges fast). in summary: antisocial baby -> social kid -> ambivert adult

Two of ESE friends said they were very shy and timid when they were younger. In summary: shy baby -> shy kid -> a huge ass ESE with 4D Fe and Se.

And I’ve met other acquaintances that were very extroverted as a kid but are very private now.

So considering both Jung and Socionics, I’d say my friends are introverts in Jungian Typologies since they were assigned at birth, but extroverts in socionics since sociotype is shaped by their experiences in society.

wdy think?

Discussion How does LSI choose which rules/code to follow?

LSI is associated with following rules and adhering to a code, but how do they know what code to follow? For, instance, I was watching a documentary about the a police officer, who was very rules oriented, and did everything by the book. The guy wouldn't bend the law for anyone, no matter what. This is basically what everyone would associate with the LSI.

However, then I watched a documentary about a famous Capo (Mid-level mob boss) named, "Sonny Franzese". He is the father of the fairly famous gangster, "Michael Franzese". Anyway, Sonny was also LSI, but the guy was a total thug: he'd do contract hits, shake people down for money, and loot semi tucks and sell their stolen goods. He would break damn near, every societal law in the world and was a multiple time felon.

Here's what's funny though: Sonny followed the Mafia code, etiquette, and guidelines to perfection. He believed that these rules and this gentleman's code of etiquette was necessary for the mob to continue to survive throughout the years, and viewed this code as gospel. He'd break all of the societal laws, but followed Mafia code to the letter.

So how does this happen? How does the LSI choose which rules and codes of conduct to follow?

Ni-bases, what do you usually daydream about?

I'm really curious to hear what Ni-bases' daydreaming/contemplation feels like. Obviously I can't just get into your heads and watch it, so please try your best to put all of it in words. What do you usually daydream about? What can you compare your mental wanderings with? Is there an end result to your journey? How often do you daydream? Thank you in advance!

When it comes to me (still not sure that I'm a Ni-base, but I'll larp as one for now to explain the way I daydream), it's mostly an unconscious process that starts whenever it wants to, usually when nothing distracts me in the "real" world. I mostly daydream about abstract associations where one thing reminds me of another, and then that thing reminds me of something entirely different, and so on. Usually there is no end goal, but sometimes interesting thoughts and ideas can be found in these eternal rivers. It feels like there is no starting point, it just keeps going until I snap back to the "real" world. There is no time limit, so sometimes it can go for 5 seconds, other times it can take half an hour. I also enjoy talking with myself as if I'm on a podcast, where someone (me) asks me questions and I answer them. I enjoy thinking in dialogues more than in monologues. I don't usually think about the future that much, I'd rather avoid it. Also sometimes random moments from the past visit my brain for absolutely no reason. It's like a Family Guy episode istg. Sometimes I question why I did the things that I did in the past, what was my motif. I don't really think about hypothetical situations like "If I met this person that I haven't seen in years tomorrow, what would I say?", I don't really care about that. A lot of times it feels like there are thinking processes happening in the backrooms of my mind that I don't pay any attention to. Sooner or later, they come up with some result and show it to me, and then I wonder how on earth I arrived at that conclusion, as if I’m not creating ideas, but stumbling upon them by chance.

the real definition of Ni is not time management

Ni works with Se. Ni, as an introverted function, is the result of receiving and observing the impacts of Se—I.e., patterns. In practice, it is achieving one’s goal not by exerting the force and willpower of oneself, but by borrowing and manipulating the forces and powers already existing in others/the environment. For example, exploiting hidden psychologic and empirical patterns and “predicting” the next steps of the objects in the real world.

Ni types prefer doing things without brute force, and that’s why they are *supposed* to dualize with Se types as they *allegedly* lack enough energy and force for actualizing their vision and meanwhile provide “loopholes” and tactics for Se types to use their energy more effectively.

*it doesnt mean if ur a Ni type you can only be dependent on a Se type to achieve success. I despise that narrative too. this is just theory tho take it with a grain of salt

Discussion Conflict in 'conflict' vs supervision IRs

In most cases 'conflict' relations aren't immediately conflicting. Conflict mostly arises in long-term arrangements, like marriage or long-term mentorship. Supervision, on the other hand, is much more likely to break out in open conflict, and this likelihood is directly proportional to the mentality of the supervisee.

Conflict ITR

In places like workplaces, in my experience, two conflict types are relatively balanced and don't fight. This is because it's not difficult to 'access' awareness to the superego block (the other type's ego block), it's just painful and clunky to put into practice and so people aren't going to do so in the long-term. But, when seeing the superego modelled out for us in someone else, it can be temporarily imitated. Perhaps this is why some people are drawn to their conflictor.

The problems arise when one or both parties are together long enough to reveal their 'true selves.' IEIs are too lackadaisy with time and obligations for LSE, ILEs are too rude and brash for ESIs, and so on. In a workplace, most people are not truly comfortable and so are alert to violating superego norms.

Supervision ITR

Conflict between a supervisor and supervisee will hinge entirely on the mental maturity of the supervisee. If the supervisee is immature, there is little the supervisor can do to prevent conflict except, perhaps, have a godly knowledge and application of socionics and/or conflict resolution training.

This is because the supervisor cannot 'turn off' their base function, or even really control its intensity (unlike the creative function, which can act more like a spigot, always available but used at one's discretion). The role function can temporarily 'mask' the base and make up for what it doesn't cover, but the base cannot be turned off.

If the supervisee is immature (and we are all immature at some point in life, it's built into the definition), this means that their vulnerable function is always being whacked at. The supervisor, on the other hand, has no idea what they're doing wrong because their base function is so inherent to them. They also won't empathize with how threatened the supervisee feels, because they themselves won't feel threatened in the same way. (Contrast conflict relations, where both parties are on equal footing.)

And so even if the supervisor tries everything they know to keep the peace, an unhealthy supervisee may still be unhappy and start conflict, even in transient places like the workplace.

In my experience, an unhealthy and immature person won't be popular, perhaps even annoying their own quadra. But while other people will be able to avoid them, the supervisor can't, for the reasons mentioned above.

Why do people get in supervision relationships long term? Not everyone is unhealthy. Perhaps the supervisee enjoys feeling challenged, and the supervisor feels like it is a safe, non-threatening relationship. For many people it isn't even an issue that they see the relationship differently from each other, as long as both parties steadily get what they want.

Discussion EII and Romantic/Sexual Thoughts in Relationships

EIIs here, to what extent do your romantic thoughts go to your partner when you're in a relationship, and to what extent do you fantasize about other people, get crushes (or fictional ones), etc.? Do you think there's some struggle between Fi and Ne in that?

I'm thinking about descriptions of both SP4 and SP6 (the most typical correlations) as having trouble with committing/sticking to one option in different ways, and especially SP4's tendency to fantasize of better possible relationships, which is weird when compared to the description of Fi and EII in Socionics.

Typing can you help me type my character?

socionics helps me a lot in writing complex characters and keeping them stable. but I'm having a hard time writing this one character that is very important in the story. can you help me type him with this description of him? I'll try not to spoil and keep the description objective. For now, I'm considering ILI or IEI

He's ambitious to reach his goals, but his goals are not driven by his own will and desires. He craves approval but dislikes needing and seeking for it. He has trouble regulating emotions, as he's easily irritated, but dislikes the process that comes from strong feelings. Even with this melancholic tendency, he comes off as a very calm and focused person to strangers and work partners. He likes to be taken seriously and is not very spontaneous. He tries to hide his romantic and delicate character with a professional and down-to-earth facade, and he does it very well. He is stubborn and hard headed, as he has a hard time thinking outside of the system he was born into and conditioned to think.

I'll try to do this with my other characters if you guys like this and interact :D. you can ask more questions if you want, that may help me develop him!

How tf do i talk with a SLE without pissing them off

I'm an EII and my SLE teacher seem to hate me for no reason. It's like I have to talk to him according to an invisible script or he'll become disinterested immediately. For example, we greet each other and he asks me how am i doing, i say "Oh, I'm working on this assignment for my ELA class and I'm almost done. How are you?" AND HE LOOKS ANNOYED THEN WALKS AWAY? Like what does he want me to say? This is my common experience.

Can somebody teach me how to approach them better? Please?

(Also note: I love SLE you guys are cool i'm just confused on how to talk to you democratically)

(EDIT: GUYS MY TEACHER MIGHT BE A SEE INSTEAD 😭🙏 lmao im sorryyyy)

I've done official Aushra questionnaire.

I've recently done official Aushra questionnaire and I feel disappointed in questions. They're not very personal. They seem to be focused more on dimensionality despite her not being pro dimensionality.

Te

Te-A. What would you consider to be productive work? How would you measure this? What are some factors that may affect someone or something’s efficiency? Provide some examples.

Something that builds towards something and contributes to a positive or wanted result.

You would analyze the timeline’s cause and effect in order to see if it’s effective, efficient, resourceful and impactful.

Something is effective if it results in positive or expected result but somethings is efficient if it reduces amount of resources and time being wasted aka collateral damage to achieve something.

If I organize my environment, I will waste a little time now and save a lot of time in the future for when I need to find the item instead of trying to find it in chaos. You can buy in bulk in order to save money and invest into things that you will actually need instead of buying it at full price each time. You can use NixOS instead of MintOS if you’re the person who likes to reinstall your OS often because it allows to be preorganized library that automatically installs all your preferred apps instead of manually installing them each time.

Te-B. Think of a time where you needed to complete a difficult task. How did you approach managing the workflow? Why? How can you tell apart logical and illogical workflows or methods of action?

I usually don’t care about being efficient but I do care that I’m effective and accurate. I make research online and try to analyze it and go through possibilities in order to eliminate inferior ones and find the one that will have most precise and correct result.

I enjoy working alone because I don’t have to deal with anarchy nor chaos.

Illogical workflows are the ones that waste more time and resources. They can also sabotage result and create inferior result or quality of the end result.

Te-C. How can someone make a set of rules or instructions easy to follow? When people aren’t properly following directions or procedures, how do you correct them? When should you?

They should translate them in a way that they won’t require preknown references that only a person in the field or with previous experience will understand. This is what many teachers get it wrong because they talk to them with knowledge and frustration as if they’d already know about those things but they don’t.

Te-D. What would you consider a normal level of activity? Is it always necessary to maintain this? Why or why not? How can you tell if someone is overexerting or underexerting themselves?

It’s mostly to do with collateral damage, resources wasted, energy wasted and time wasted. You should reserve energy instead of wasting it for nothing. Sometimes you should waste energy if the purpose is to exercise.

Te-E. Think of an activity you’re interested in which requires certain physical or mechanical skills. How would you differentiate a good and bad technique? What makes these techniques effective or ineffective? How aware of you of your own performance?

I enjoy gaming and playing guitar. When it comes to guitar, I want to have balanced tension strings since they create most efficient vibrations and tensions which allow me to pick in most effective and accurate way. I also need to get right material and thickness of a pick. When it comes to video games, I like to have mouse and keyboard that I feel comfortable with. They need to be properly adjusted in sensitivity which is most comfortable for me. I can test it in practice mode to see which one offers best results in 10 out of 10 tries in 1 minute each. I compare my tries as separate events to previous events and measure precision, efficiency, time and impact that it left.

Fe

Fe-A. To what extent does someone’s emotional state affect a person’s being? How does your emotional state affect your everyday life? When does your true emotional state differ from what you express?

Everyone is emotionally affected on subconscious level and people don’t even realize it. When people think that they are logical, they’re usually just biased and confident in their belief. Emotions usually support logic. This is why religious people appear so logically persuasive but they’re just confident and sometimes even delusional. You see very smart people who are extremely indecisive because of lack of gut reasurrance, high anxiety and ability to see possibilities.

I often feel uncomfortable expressing my own emotions because I fear being judged and appearing cringe in the environment or to people. This is what makes people mask, you can mask out of multiple reasons, whether to get a result or just please people out of your kindness.

Fe-B. How important is it for someone to be inspired and excited about what they’re doing? Why? How can people actively inspire others?

You can use discipline and volition but without motivation, they will only work for so long until you crash down. People are usually very easily persuaded. You can notice this in media and politics. People care more about impressions and “ad hominem” than they do about impersonal truth.

People usually gaslight and crowd control through cheap shots that and charisma which can leave positive or negative impact on people.

Fe-C. What role do negative emotions, including anger, play in people’s lives? What causes them? Are they intrinsically valuable? Why or why not? What can be learned from negative emotions?

Negative emotions are literally defense mechanism through evolution. It helped people survive. Today, people rely a lot on their emotions. They shape their worldview. You can see many fearful and counterphobic people. You can fix that through exposure therapy and mindful thinking but emotions drastically impact your life. Most people think that they are moral and correct but it’s usually just following their emotions. You can have 2 different experiences if first time your emotional reaction is different than second time.

You should learn that those are automatic thoughts and you shouldn’t automatically believe them as a fact. You can easily get scared, doesn’t mean you’re in immediate danger.

Negative thoughts helps you be aware, anxiety protects you from potentially going into unsafe environment but you can also use rationale to see when they’re being rational and when they’re being irrational.

Fe-D. In your view, what does it mean to be calm? How can someone reduce the amount of emotionality happening in others around them? When would it be appropriate to adjust this?

Calmness is perfect balance of emotions and hormones in your body.

You can avoid people, you can try to persuade them, you can try to adapt, you can try to find common ground and so on.

Being appropriate is subjective but it’s usually when emotions reactions are irrational and do more bad than good.

Fe-E. How can you tell how someone is feeling? Describe some signs to look for. What are some giveaways that someone’s internal state is different from what they’re expressing on the outside?

Se

Se-A. To what extent does an individual’s appearance and external presentation affect them? How aware are you of the way you come off? Should people always consider how they look? Why or why not?

I care a lot about how I look because I think that your presentation of your looks is tied to your inner world which means that you’re able to stand out and show your inner world on first impression and external appearance.

I don’t understand why some people don’t care about aesthetics because I think they bring aesthetics and meaning to the world and offer you ability to be different and stand out which shapes your identity and uniqueness.

I don’t care about appearing reach nor capable. I don’t dress to impress people. I enjoy standing out but I primarily dress in order to construct my identity and have pleasant sensations when I look at art.

Se-B. Describe your view on money. What can it do for someone, and how does access to it affect people? What are your thoughts on riskier approaches to attaining it, such as risky investments or criminal activity?

Money is made up concept which is used as leverage and resource in our world. This can be very useful and can offer you freedom, leverage, power and control.

I don’t care a lot about money, I only care that I have enough to live unburdened life.

You can argue whether crime is moral or not but it is what it is. There are multiple ways to obtain money. Work smart not hard.

Gambling is stupid because it’s low probability of winning and it’s mostly about stimulation rather than believing that you’ll win, although false hope is also present.

Se-C. What would you consider your short and long term material goals? How do they compare to the goals of others? How can you tell if someone is striving for the right goals?

I want to live isolated life with my possessions and safety that people can’t touch nor impact.

I don’t care about goals of others.

I’m also not very ambitious.

Se-D. What makes a person or organization look “put-together”? Are these people and groups more able to exert their will over others? Why or why not? What makes a person good at organizing and directing the will of themselves and others?

It’s mostly about impression, lever and competency they radiate around people.

They need to know how to impact thje world in a way that will result to positive or extected outcome.

It seems to do with ability to radiate pressure to people.

Se-E. One famous English adage is that “If there is a will, there is a way.” Do you agree? Why or why not? To what extent an individual’s will affect their ability to accomplish their goals?

You can do what you will but you can’t will what you will.

You can use volition as driving force but you can’t go through laws of universe.

You can use discipline and volition but only for so long until lack of passion and motivation cripples you into a hollow abyss.

Ne

Ne-A. What would you consider to be the essence – or meaning – of existence? Should life’s meaning be personal or collectively shared by humanity? Why?

There’s no objective meaning in the universe, only cause and effect based on laws of universe and relative frameworks but meaning is purely made and relative to human mind which is separate framework which constructs relative perception filled with meaning, bias and emotions that exist due to its hardware or body.

Your meaning should be purely yours and disconnected from society’s desires but that’s just my subjective opinion and value, although I can acknowledge that some may consider common shared interests and needs as common good.

I believe in Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand which says that selfish goals contribute to common good.

Ne-B. What makes someone have potential? What makes an individual more capable at something than others? When is it important to consider these capabilities? Can a person be truly hopeless? Why or why not?

Potential is when you take human body and you’re able to put it in any kind of simulated environment which may have different impacts and influences onto someone.

You may not be an artist but still have a ton of aritistic potential that you’re capable off even if you’re curently stuck in environment which didn’t make you pursue something out of external reasons.

This is why I value potential more because you still can do something but if you don’t have potential, you’re incapable of doing it.

Someone who is disabled and in wheelchair, doesn’t have potential to walk but in scenario of genetic engineering, they do. It’s always relative to the scope.

You can be hopeless because potential may seem out of reach and out of your idealized verison of something’s probability of becoming reality.

Ne-C. What must an individual understand to physically and spiritually develop themselves? Is it more important to recognize the flaws or the strengths that people are given? Why?

We need to see that our strenghts and flaws primarily exist out of combination of our bodies and environments. We shouldn’t punish based on actions but rather help people and recognize that their minds were affected by negative environment which can lead them to maximizing their inner potential which could have had been if they were in different environment.

Ne-D. How would you determine how good an idea is? Do these ideas need to be realistic to be worthwhile? How would you differentiate a promising opportunity from a dead end?

Depends on what you mean by good? Whether something is probable? I would try to simulate in and consider things based on how plausible and probable each scenario is and whether it contradicts itself or not.

You could also value how useful it is or how meaningful it is but that has nothing to do with idea but rather personal utilization and importance.

Promising is anything that’s still probable if you simulate it in realistic and probable environment.

Ne-E. What does it mean for someone to understand the “essence” of something? When should someone prioritize understanding the core characteristics of a phenomenon? Think of a topic or field of interest you are knowledgeable in. What do you think lies at the essence of it? What does this suggest about the way people should approach it?

Understanding essence is a combination of impersonal logic, gut intuition and emotional understanding. You may understand something on surface level but you may not understand emotional nuance. You may also understand something on logical level but you may not have intuitive grasp of familiarity and essence that appears like an atmosphere connecting when you intuitively know where it leads and where it came from as gut reassurance.

People usually focus too much on biased impression of something and or lack of nuance when it comes to depth of specific field which makes them ignore a lot of details and alternatives that may be connected to certain aspect or concept.

Ti

Ti-A. What would you understand as an individual’s basic needs? Are these the same for everyone? To what extent do people rely on others to get their needs met? At what points does this become overreliance or underreliance?

Depends. Since we share DNA, we have similar needs that fit across the spectrum but there are also many aspects that cause us to make us very different.

Some people follow various systems, like law, religion, culture, philosophy and so on. These systems give them guidance and stability in life.

I don’t think that anyone should rely on anyone in life but it’s appreciated if people choose to help others in need.

Ti-B. How do people gain leverage, power, and respect from others? Is it sometimes necessary to use threats, fear, and punishment to accomplish this? Why or why not?

You can achieve leverage and control in multiple ways. You can use money, persuasion, crowd control or manipulation to control people’s behavior.

You can use charisma or fear in order to control people. Both are valid metrics but come with different factors.

People will differ based on their subjective interpretation of what kind of approach they value and prefer to use towards other people.

Ti-C. One commonly used idiom is that “Everything has its place.” What does this mean to you? How do things being “in their place” contribute to orderliness? Do you agree with the idiom? Why or why not?

I’m not really sure because not everything fits into everything completely but whole world does make sense based on source code of the universe which puts everything in its own place since it’s capable of being processed.

Ti-D. What makes hierarchies work? When are they appropriate to use, and what do they provide to people? Should they always strive for equality and justice? Why or why not?

Hierarchies and rules work because there is always someone above that has more power and leverage over you. Countries don’t exist in objective truth but only exist relatively as long as country has a power to support its own existance. Law only works as long as it has police and army enforcing it. It’s not like computer’s source code which exists on its own just because it’s created and is fundemental for existances of operating system.

Ti-E. What does it mean for something to be logical? Is this the norm? Provide an example of something logical and illogical, and compare what makes the first logical and the second not.

For me, logic is human ability to reason cause and effect in simulated environment or relative framework which has its own parameters and laws. Those things need to be coherent and follow laws in order to not contradict each other. If it’s logical, then it must be possible, not necessarily plasubile nor probable. It’s illogical if it contradicts itself and created paradox or fallacy.

Fi

Fi-A. What does it mean to be emotionally close to or distant from someone? In what ways can you adjust your “emotional distance” to someone else? For what reasons would you decide to do this?

That’s hard to say because it doesn’t clarify whether it’s from your end or theirs? Two people can have very different relations to each other. One may feel closer while another may experience emotional distance.

I personally know who I feel connected to, feel comfortable around and like or dislike but I definitely can’t know for sure how they feel towards me except for imagining and noticing their cues.

Emotional distance can be increased when you lower your connection, dependance and emotional affect that other person can have on you.

Fi-B. Share some thoughts on how you view love and desire. What makes a person desirable? Is this the norm? Are some people more deserving of these than others? Why or why not?

Love is something that you experience as emotionally pleasant experience which makes you feel worthy of sacrifice for, offers you familiarity and stability in life but desire is something that you have drive towards getting or obtaining which is like a string pulling you towards something. Something that you feel like you “need” rather than “care” about in terms of its full range with positive and negatives.

Person or object is desireable when you feel a need to obtain it because you experience strong desire or motivation to have, possess or get stimulated by.

People desire different things based on their emotional relation to the world which was influenced by their past experiences that have built their inner world of desires and fears.

Deserving is very subjective and relatiave concept because it has to do with your own mental world and its own value based system. You could argue that some aspects are more valuable and profitable but won’t offer same amount of stimulation for someone. Someone may chase someone who will be unhealthy towards them but due to their past experiences and current desire, they will get more stimulation out of them for those reasons, this can also have as much of negative affects on someone’s psyche.

Fi-C. Describe what morality means to you. What does it mean for something or someone to be good or bad? What does it take for something bad to become good? Are some things truly irredeemable? Why or why not?

To me, morality is very relative concept to humans and society. People do share similar morals because we share similar experiences, environments and DNA which results in similar cognitions and preferences.

I think that morality is completely subjective but we can extract what may be useful for general population but may still have a high margin error of positive for various demographics and different individuals.

Whether you are irredeemable isn’t a static. It’s entirely based on your environment, people and their experiences. Some people are more forgiving then others, some value different things. Some tribes think cannibalism is moral, some countries thing weed is moral, some support age of consent at 13 and some at 18. These things all change based on who is in control, who inspires and how these things integrate through time and space. Medieval Europe was different than current Europe. It will continue to change.

Fi-D. How are people shaped by their relationships with their friends and family? How do these differ from romantic ones? Are non-romantic relationships more important than romantic ones? Why or why not?

People have subconscious which is strongly affected based on how humans interact with them. This is useful evolutionary in order to shape your survivability. Childhood trauma is very strong impact on how you develop and process emotions and relationships throughout your life. People grow depending on their experience and relationships much more than they do with age. Their bodies may adapt to age but their experiences shape their mind in much greater way. Some people develop at 16 what others don’t develop until 18. This can be due to relationship trauma, lack of experience of emotional validation and safety from caregivers or even society.

All relationships leave subtle cues and impressions in your mind which strongly relate to your emotions, identity and safety around people.

Fi-E. What can establishing new relationships with people do for someone? Is making new contacts with others as important as deepening the ones people already have? Why or why not?

Depends on people. It may include positive potential, responsibilities and even potential vulnerabilities.

I personally value loyalty and finding right people over expanding networking but it can have positive and negative impacts on your and your potential or your experience.

Si

Si-A. One of the key themes in the bestselling book Atomic Habits is that what people have in their surrounding environment is the greatest subconscious driver of how they live their life. Do you agree? Why or why not? How can changing the environment around someone impact the way they live their life?

It depends. Environment does definitely have overwhelming affect on people. It doesn’t mean that you will automatically be your environment, it can also manifest in your rejection of environment.

What you think, you get by senses through experience and environment. It’s information that you process and you also get associations.

If you’re in negative environment, your daily thinking will automatically have negative association, neurotic stimuli and even negative momentum which can make you stuck in your comfort zone.

You are primarily controlled by environment since reality is cause and effect of material matter.

Going to gym can help you improve appreciation, energy levels, blood flow and other stuff in life life. Same with other stuff. Every aspect of your environment has a different effect on you.

Si-B. How should people approach managing their health and well-being? How does this compare to the way you approach your own? When should people be taking their health and well-being into account? Why?

People often fixate too much on things. It’s most important to have perfect balance. Extremes are unhealthy too and will exhaust you. People should primarily use reason of science and just listen to their bodies for what they were made through evolution and what your body is telling you that you lack.

Si-C. Think about the way sensations, both good and bad, shape the way people live and experience their lives. How important are experiencing good sensations in one’s life? Is there a limit to how much one should chase these? What role do negative sensations play in our lives?

Positive sensations can give you motivation and comfort but can also give you escapism which will create cope and comfort zone that will keep you from progressing and external environment.

Negative experience can push you into action but can also have negative trauma associated with it.

Si-D. Choose one of the following: art, clothing, photography, graphic design. What makes something well-designed in that area? How do the individual components work together to generate the experience?

You could argue that something is well made in quality or that it serves a purpose but I think that those things are very subjective. I like art because it’s pleasant to me, shows my inner world and has ability to stimulate me. I like food that I like, other people like food that they like, I have my own experience and association connected to sensory elements.

You have your favorite color because throughout your life, the color was associated with pleasant stimuli and experiences, this led you to associate it with positivity.

Si-E. Describe what your living & working environments are like. How do they affect you? Would other people be similarly affected in the same environment? Why or why not? What changes could you make to improve it? How would these be beneficial?

I enjoy having things aesthetically pleasant, well organized which offers me spatial awareness without confusion or disorientation. I care about cleanliness and peace. Environment is predictable and makes me feel cozy. I can’t sleep in someone else’s bed. I need a little experience with something before it makes me feel familiar and comfortable. I care a lot about novelty within familiarity. I enjoy that environment and systems work smoothly.

Ni

Ni-A. How do people’s relationship to the past, present, and future influence the way they currently live their lives? To what extent does this affect them? How does this influence your own life?

People always progress through time and space but I personally have my timeline, that’s in my head and very visual. I see my life as a protagonist in someone’s book. I feel that I’m Tolkien writing Aragorn and want to construct perfect identity by connecting past to future and creating ideal timeline.

Some people can overly obsess about their past and future which can be unhealthy.

I definitely struggle with living in the moment because I regret past and I’m indecisive about future since ideal way is unlikely which makes me struggle to settle for second best.

Ni-B. What does it mean for a person to be at a certain “phase” of their life? What puts people into the phases they’re currently in? How does this affect the way people navigate their lives?

It’s a dynamic chapter in someone’s life that have a static interval for its own reference and zone. It means that you have different experience, body and future at that time than at different time. At that time, you have different things in your short term memory which makes you behave differently. You also have different experiences and preferences.

I personally hate this because I want to have consistent identity throughout my life.

Ni-C. How do you anticipate events unfolding? How can you observe them unfolding in your environment? How do you adjust yourself towards the way things are developing? Provide some examples.

I visualize things in cause and effect. In empty 3 dimensional space. I take picture of environment. Reconstruct it in my head. Envision how it could unfold.

Before I take action, I take in account what I did in the past and what I will most likely do in future, this makes action more in momentum of timeline. I don’t want to do something that isn’t consistend with past nor ideal with future that I want. I adapt my choice to idealized future and one that is actually probable which makes me weigh pros and cons in real time.

I can just do something without taking in account my past choices nor my future choices of my identity and movie.

Ni-D. Think about the way you experience the pace and rhythm of your life. What dictates the speed in which time flies? Why do you think people experience time passing at different rates?

I constantly move in and out of momentum. I’m quick to zone out of things because I usually live internally, it’s like an atmosphere. This is why I enjoy music, it allows me to separate myself from environment and get into flow of life through introspection.

Time feels relative to my enjoyment and focus or self awareness. People experience life differently, appreciate things differently and adapt to things differently.

Ni-E. Consider each of the following feelings people have about time: hurriedness, anxiety, optimism/pessimism. What causes people to experience these feelings? What role do they play in our lives? To what extent are these feelings beneficial?

They’re good instincts in order to adapt properly to momentum of time in your life but people can usually feel a lot of regret or similar negative feelings which will result in them become anxious from unpredictable future, too many choices or even stuck in traumatic past.

People should be able to recognize them and learn from them. What they mean and how to fix them.

Expeiences and causations may have various effects on your mind and perception of your life’s potential which can have positive effect that you can properly fix your momentum or they can have negative effect which will result you being paranoid and stuck in past.

Discussion What do you think of Dumas's typing?

Personally I don't think he's an SEI. I'm not sure if he's ESE or SEE but I don't see him as a Si base.

Typing I've been searching for my type for years. Still lost

Hi guys. Well, searching for your type for several years is certainly a lot, but at the same time it's not impossible, right? I have some trouble clearly telling myself who I am. And I would really like to be convinced and understand myself so that everything is logical with all the nuances accounted for and explained. It's become a matter of principle at this point. Maybe I'm also a terrible self-analyst, but what can you do. Someone said I'm 100% Te creative, someone else said beta NF so for now I'm throwing a mysterious glance from under a Mexican hat and trying to figure it out. I came across this questionnaire, it's interesting and short so here we go. Thanks in advance for the help.

1. What is your relationship to physical experience and comfort? What experiences are you drawn to?

I think it's fine. Comfort is important to me. I include a lot in that word, especially mental comfort. Peace, without excessive or intense emotions, with access to my essential things such as my bed, phone, internet, headphones, money. I'm drawn to that kind of state when no one disturbs me, no one needs anything from me, I'm in my own space retreating into my world, while the external world backs off and stays in the background. The feeling of freedom, that's what draws me in.

2. Are you comfortable with emotional expression? How does this differ between personal and group expression?

Not really comfortable I think. I feel stupid when I do it awkward and crooked, too open like I'm standing there naked. So I avoid it or show only surface-level emotions to others, not the deep ones. When I'm alone I talk to myself, to the people I imagine in my head. I enjoy that and I don't have any mental health conditions. My emotions vary depending on what's happening in those conversations, but more often than not, it's something positive and calm. I'm more comfortable expressing myself alone than in groups. For me to show my real self in a group, time needs to pass, I have to get used to people and form some attachment. Otherwise I won't do anything in most cases and even if I do show emotions, I don't believe they're particularly deep, they feel performative, like I'm waiting for permission from others.

3. How do you judge your relationships? How do you assess and influence the closeness of your relationships? Does this matter to you?

They exist. Once they're established I don't worry about them much, I expect us to stay in an unchanging state, friends and that's it. I expect loyalty, to be a priority in that person's life, to never be betrayed and to always be accepted and supported. Ideally I'd also like to be understood, but I feel like that has never happened in my life, isn't happening now and probably never will. I don't seek relationships myself, I'm quite passive in contacts. I might perk up if I've known someone for a long time and there's already comfort in communicating with them. Everything depends on the other person, not on me. The level of closeness is in their hands. Unless they open up to me, reveal some personal secrets I won't consider us truly friends and I probably won't open up myself either, sharing only less intimate things. Since I don't seek people out, it doesn't matter much to me. But inside, I feel lonely. I want someone who will accept me without exception, all my traits and quirks, someone who will never betray me and will be faithful to the end. Though I seem pretty avoidant myself. I think I need a chaser in relationships.

4. How important is independence to you? Where do you seek it? Where are you comfortable asking for help?

It's important, thanks to my parents and family for constantly restricting my freedom and still trying to do so now. So I'm seeking it now, even though it's difficult, I want freedom and peace not surveillance over my every move and unsolicited advice I never asked for. I generally prefer doing things alone so that's where my independence shows. I'd rather work solo than in a group or a pair, though people sometimes drag me into those. If I'm in a group give me clear instructions and directions so I don't mess up and can be calm knowing I did my part. If the group can't figure things out and there are no ideas or initiators, I might take it upon myself to do everything as I understand it just to have something done. But that's only with people I'm already comfortable with with an unfamiliar or less close group, don't expect anything from me in most cases. I'm not keen on asking for help, I try to avoid it and when forced, I feel awkward and exposed. There's no specific area where I'm comfortable asking, it's usually situational.

5. What topics do you feel the most confident discussing and interacting with? When do you feel like you are "in your element"? (Please try to stay general and avoid naming specific shows or such)

Topics that are part of my aquarium such as films, franchises, games I'm into. I can discuss things that require analysis and thinking, I improvise on the spot and enjoy reasoning in the moment, looking for arguments and processing information. I used to have fun arguing online thinking my opponents weren't intellectually developed enough for such debates. I'd even go so far as to say I can be useful in many discussions, I can think, hypothesize even with limited information or no knowledge at all in certain areas like boxing or politics which I don't touch. It also depends on who you're discussing things with.

6. How do you go about giving advice?

I try to avoid it, it's not my business. I don't want to be responsible for someone ruining their life because of my advice. But sometimes I might give it if I see a meaning in an action or words that I can't ignore. Still I prefer to leave a person's life in their own hands and I'm reluctant to take advice from others too. When someone asks for advice, I get lost and think why are you even asking me? It's your decisions and your problem, you should be the one to solve it, not someone from the outside. I have no right to do that. My mom often asks for my opinion when picking out clothes, I stay neutral for the reason I just explained.

7. How do you determine the value of something?

Depends on what it is a physical object or something abstract. Some personal items hold value because of the memories, events, or ideas associated with them like a figure of a character from a show. Without emotions or feelings attached, the value comes from the material it's made of, the effort invested and the history behind it.

8. Do you focus more on what is changing or what stays the same? Do you care more about finding comfort in what is stable or do you care more about what is changing and evolving around you?

That's a difficult question. I feel like I spend so much time in my own aquarium and in my head that I don't really pay attention to these kinds of things. All I know is that I've seen people with an unstable sense of self that was linked to dynamism. I think I'm similar. I can also say that I'll die doing something without breaks, something long and tedious. I need to get distracted otherwise I'll kill someone. I can't do the same thing for too long even if I know I need to finish it and be done with it, I'll still get distracted five hundred times. Could that be linked to dynamism?

9. What are some weaknesses you actively try to improve on?

I definitely struggle with doing things just because I'm told to, I avoid it, cheat on exams instead of studying even though it's risky with some subjects. It pisses me off. I want time for rest, for myself, not just endless work which is what I get if I do everything the education system expects. It's hypocritical and pointless, there are so many obvious, stupid flaws that I find it hard to believe this actually works and that someone allowed it. So many useless subjects, forced assignments and busywork that no one needs, it's just for show. I also don't present myself well in certain situations because I don't know how to defend myself or stand my ground. Anger often builds up inside, gets processed and sometimes I snap and overreact. I feel small and frail around people even though I can put on a brave face. But inside it's uncomfortable. I also doubt my control over my body is absolute, because of my eating disorder and suspected dysmorphophobia roots.

10. What are things that others deem important that you do not care about?

Honestly? A lot of things. Romantic relationships? I've never had one I'm fine with that, I'm sure I wouldn't be a great partner anyway. Super prestigious career? I've had that pushed on me my whole childhood "you don't want to be a janitor do you?" Just leave me alone, I'm fine in a place where I'm comfortable with minimum effort and stress, minimal direct human contact where I don't have to take work home. But people keep trying to push the opposite on me "you need to, it pays well, all that." Health, to some extent. As long as it doesn't affect my appearance or cause inconvenient side effects beyond that I'm fine, it doesn't bother me much. People often give me advice or help me in that area, telling me some habits are harmful that I won't make it to a hundred like this. I wasn't planning to, but okay. Honestly, I think about ending it myself when my appearance inevitably worsens and aging becomes unbearable if you know what I mean. Living long feels meaningless in this world, especially for me without cyberpunk-level anti-aging technology.

11. How do you determine the best way for things to be done? Does your idea of this tend to stay the same or does it change often? How do you know that you've made a good decision?

The best way is one where the effort and resources spent aren't critical, but optimal and beneficial where the task gets done to a passable minimum. I've realized I've lived my whole life this way trying not to overdo things and cutting corners where possible so I'd say my view on this doesn't change. A good decision is one where I achieved the goal I wanted, satisfied my desires and needs and didn't harm myself in the process.

12. Describe how you perceive time. What is your relationship to it? (This may be a hard question to answer. An example response could be about how you are very worried about wasting time and you believe nothing is eternal)

Time is a valuable resource that's never enough, because it's consumed by external demands and other people's expectations that we're forced to follow in this society. I see it as slipping through my fingers relentless and irreversible not a video game or a video you can rewind. I'm prone to procrastination, floating through events and life so I guess I often waste time doing nothing, daydreaming, passive rest. It's kind of sad to lose time, but I probably wouldn't change much if it came back. Some events, sure, but not my lifestyle.

13. What kind of people do you find yourself drawn to? What kind of people compliment your traits well?

Usually people are drawn to me hehe. But in fiction I melt like ice cream in July sun for SLEs. Yes, I've checked my key characters and hyperfixations at the very least, Se base fits them. Since I feel small in a big world and have low, unstable self-esteem, I'm drawn to people who can come up and say I'm theirs, tell me what to do, show me I'm an exception to their rules, shield me and beat up whoever I don't like on my command. At the same time they're kind and comfortable people endlessly loyal and altruistic, who would never raise their voice at me, and whom I could protect in return. Among these ESE and SEI have come up most often. I'd want someone to lead me forward, show me how and what to do, do things for me, guide me. I think I once encountered an EIE in real life, this person drained me mentally and emotionally with their whims and behavior.

14. What is something that you feel inept in or stresses you out more than other people?

I often feel inept in general. But especially like a titan in a small room full of porcelain when I need to calm people down, support them, work in a team. That stresses me out. Other people's negative emotions throw me off and my own mood drops I've had enough of my mom and grandmother's complaints and dissatisfaction since childhood. No more, please. When asked to support someone in a group or give a toast, I feel awkward, too much attention. You should've seen me at thirteen or fourteen when a girl I'd known for a year and a half, not very deeply, I hadn't shared much personal stuff, we just hung out, suddenly told me about her crush, life problems, traumas, cried a little and I just sat there thinking what am I supposed to do, why did she trust me, what does she want right now? My silence that day could've rivaled the quietest person on earth. Plus as I've mentioned, I feel like I don't have enough strength or courage sometimes around arrogant, aggressive people, but at the same time, I have a noticeable boldness and can snap back if I lose it with thoughts like Rhiannon Lewis from "Sweetpea." It's boiling inside and I often don't know where to put it and I'm not allowed to let it out.

15. What is your relationship to structure? Do you require it? Do you follow it or create it? Do you seek it internally or externally?

I think I'm pretty changeable and random when it comes to structure. I create more than I follow. I can build a rough framework, but who said I won't rearrange the pieces? I mostly improvise, remember things along the way, deviating from structures. When answering questions in university, I have many thoughts but need to gather them coherently so there's structure, but that usually takes effort, consciously piecing everything together. Regardless, I seek it internally, because even with an external reference point, I can deviate from it and feel constrained at times, choosing to think independently instead.
