i remember it being like 2010 watching videos of excision absolutely annihilating and dreaming of one day attending, never mind PLAYING

this has been a bucket list festival for me for 16 years now, not even as an artist but just as a fan. i love the energy, the commitment to sound system culture, and the vibe of being in the woods of canada up all night listening to the best electronic music has to offer

Was up until like 2:00AM after the most exhausting day of my life

DAY 2 LETS GOOO

We drove about 9 hours from Alberta and got here at 3pm only to wait in a line until midnight to get in, finally we have our sunshine pass but it’s pitch black out and we can’t find a single camping spot, when we ask staff they just say “keep looking we aren’t allowed to open more space yet” but the entire area is just cars driving up and down the road with 0 spots to find.

We finally had our tent setup about 2 hours after getting our sunshine pass and driving around in circles and setting everything up in pitch black 😭

Day isn’t over yet but I’ve been told that I should turn off my phone Thursday as that’s when the magic starts and a phone ruins the experience so LAST POST until it’s over. 

Tuesday took more out of me than expected, so Wednesday was river naps but I met a camp today where most of them have been attending for 10+ years. One guy took me under his wing, 20+ year veteran and introduced me to his cute niece who is also a first timer so me and her are going to be going to the opening ceremony together.

Cougar neighbour is still pursuing me, said her husband just wants to watch. Been avoiding them LOL she is trouble 

BBOY Bobby (I think Bobby) said there used to be bboy battles? told me to go clear headed all day Thursday but after the last set he’s going to take me to an old man who has some toad venom and it’s a Thursday night ritual to start the “real party” fresh.

gotta pace yourself to make the sunrise sets!

He also said when “buffalo man” is playing he’s going to give me a balloon at the stacks. I said as long as it’s a green or purple balloon as that’s my favourite colour!

Also heard there is a quartz river buried under a stage that amplifies the energy. What’s the deal there?

I bought my best friend a ticket this year and they cancelled last night, we’re supposed to leave for the farm tonight.

What’s the line / camping situation looking like? How full is it?

Found a cell phone out on my run this morning. It was on the very far northern edge of the festival grounds on the exit road kinda near the entrance. If you send me a message here with a perfect description I can meet you, otherwise it will be in lost and found downtown when I can make it there. Currently in the Ankors line but will make it over to lost and found when I'm done here.

Is anyone else dealing with this right now? There is no where to camp and they’re refusing to open up any additional camping til Wednesday (which is today, we got in at 1AM).

We were told to go to the parking lot and WAIT. They won’t even give a time in the morning when more opens up.
