Job Help - Sacramento Area

I apologize I've posted before but I'm getting desperate. We're looking into warehouse jobs but we can't find a lot and they're all saying they'll background check so we'll see. Restaurants are off the table. I know people have mentioned UHaul but he has a bad driving record and even for a customer service associate they expect a clean driving record. Basically he has restaurant experience, no higher education, can't be around minors on pcrs right now, but he's a hard worker.

Eventually he'd like to do an electrician apprenticeship but that takes time and he needs a job now. Thanks

Help me understand

My son is in his early 20s, extremely smart..had a good friend group, was working and going to college (off and on).

He was arrested a few months ago and charged with cp and sharing cp.

I just can't wrap my head around it, his whole life's trajectory just changed and became a lot harder.

I just can't wrap my head around it, I just can't understand what he was thinking. Do people not realize how serious the repercussions are? Is the temptation that blinding?

This situation has totally consumed my every thought, every waking moment.

I just don't understand.

Update: Removed info from the post for privacy, and because after searching today I have been very fortunate to find a private owner who will rent to me! I still have a decent bit of things to sort this week, and hopefully I will be able to continue contributing to this community.

Thank you for your time, and I would really love to give a more detailed post about my story soon when I can. Never give up, keep going! Keep making healthy choices! Think of those that love you!!

Has anyone had success finding or joining a creative community after conviction?

I’m a hobbyist music producer, graphic designer, and web developer and one of the things I’ve been struggling with is finding community. I used to think I wanted to attend a church, but I've learned that what I am really looking for is a genuine creative community. I would really like to meet people with similar musical interests, make friends, collaborate on projects, trade ideas, and possibly play or attend events together.

The challenge is figuring out where I can actually participate without constantly worrying about my past becoming an issue. I know that not every creative space requires a background check or disclosure, but it can still be difficult to relax and build relationships when you know the subject may eventually come up.

I’m curious whether anyone here has successfully joined a local music, art, writing, theater, maker, or other creative community. How did you find it? Were you upfront about your conviction, did you wait until people knew you better, or did it simply never become relevant? Have you encountered communities that were more accepting than others?

I’m not looking for ways to hide anything or put anyone in an uncomfortable position. I’m trying to understand how other people have rebuilt a social and creative life without allowing their conviction to define every interaction.

I would especially appreciate hearing from musicians, producers, artists, or anyone who has found collaborators and meaningful friendships through a shared creative interest.

Question CDL or trade options?

Hi guys, I’m in Florida and I was convicted of indecent exposure back in 2022. I’m not on the registry.

I’m looking to go into a trade because I heard I could do that with my background. Getting a normal job has been impossible.

Has anybody had any experience getting on with a CDL company that will offer training? I can’t afford to get my own license but I know these companies are out there and they have you pay them back when you start working.

I’m unsure how to start or where to look.. I’m also open to other trades such as HVAC or electric.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Question Will my employment be effected (IL)

My significant other is a CSO (An offense from over 15 years ago)

At some point in the next few years we plan on being married.

My question is about my employment.

I work in education, within the schools.

If they find out he is a CSO or that my address is connected to a CSO, will I be let go from my job because of my connection to a CSO?

Planning a vacation and spouse is registered with the stamp on passport. I know the travel matrix says it’s safe to either one of these islands but anyone have any travel stories or advice whether it’s a good or bad idea trying to vacation there? No longer on probation and level 1 tier. He is aware of the 21 day notification with the U.S. authorities.

Nj electrical licensing and/or union apprenticeship questions

Hello all, here’s some background info for context;

I went to an electrical trade school back in 2015 or so and from then until 2023 I’ve had a few jobs but nothing significant. I struggled with drug addiction and spent about as much time unemployed in those years as I did working.

My offense occurred in November of 2022, in April of 2023 I got clean off drugs and alcohol, got a job as an electrician and everything was good, until march of 2024 when I was arrested for said offense (CSAM possession)

So my question is for anyone that has experience getting an electrical license or has gotten a union apprenticeship. I’ve been with the same non-union company now for over three years and would like to go out on my own someday or at least get a journeyman card but I’m afraid that these charges will get in the way.

Currently serving 5 years probation with no registration requirements in NJ.

Thanks in advance for any guidance, advice, or experience

TN vs FL federal

My offense, not under 12, was 21 years ago. Federal lifetime supervision. I work for a large company in Fl. They want me to head up a new building in TN. It would be a great career move. Federal in FL have more freedoms than state RSO.
Are there differences in TN if you’re on fed probation. Never had a violation. I barely see my PO now.
Does TN put out flyers? Place I’m looking is pretty rural or at least room between houses.
If I did move, and could find someone to rent to me. What else am I expecting. TN can’t be worse than FL. Or I would hope.
Specifically in the fed system
Thanks

Hey guys, so I just got rejected for a Home Inspector license in Texas. I turned in all the paperwork but they rejected it. Didn't say it was a permanent thing. Sounded like if I tried later and submitted more/new paperwork they might say yes. Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone get rejected and then accepted later? Thanks

Advice No support

No support

Hello everyone, for context I’m a 23 yo lifetime so for CSAM, I finish probation at the end of August, I live with my dad stepmom and stepbrother and well my stepmom wants me OUT by the time my stepbrother leaves for college. He leaves mid August and I no longer have to worry about probation accepting a residency after August. The problem is my father is on my ass constantly about work ( I was laid off in February) and I do uber eats every day as well as getting unemployment. I get treated like I’m a non contributor even though I do most of the daily house chores as well as working 8+ hour uber eats shifts. I’ve been trying to find work that isn’t just running my car into the ground and I can’t. I have no one to turn to and I don’t know what to do. I’m lost, scared, and struggling. Does anyone have some words of wisdom? I could use it.

Advice Job

Awhile back I had gotten hire for landscaping.. little did I know they hadn’t done my background check and just couple days in I got fired because I didn’t not pass the background check. Went months without a job but FINALLY! If you have a “Tyson’s Food” processing/hatchery near you, APPLY! HR was really nice/ uncaring about my background and was more than okay of my PO contacting them about it. I know a lot of us struggle finding jobs but Tyson seems like they’ll accept our backgrounds.

Florida's SB212

This new law went into effect July 1st this year, seeing if anyone who's read this understands legal lingo a bit more than me can help answer a few questions. SB212

From the way its writen it says "“Public swimming pool” means a structure that is located either indoors or outdoors and used for recreational bathing or swimming by humans." So a beach is not considered under this given that there is no "structure" that contains a beach? Same goes for lakes, rivers, streams, etc.

Also, it mentions this only applies to crimes committed on of after July 1st. Is that correct?

Older Couple Looking to Return To GA from AZ

I was convicted in 1989 of one felony in CA and in 2008 of 2 misdemeanor indecent. Both were certainly my fault for putting myself in a bad position. Not so much as a traffic ticket since. My wife and I are tired of Arizona heat (she's really tired) and the laws they keep changing and trying to change so are getting worse and worse, heading towards Florida restrictions. We've lived in GA before and loved it but was transferred back to CA many years ago. Level 2 in AZ.

We lived in Alpharetta before but anywhere in GA is fine as it will allow us to visit our family in Florida 72 hours at a time.

Need help with a job-Houston

I just turned 19, graduated high school and am charged with possession of CSAM. Pre trial phase. I am desperately looking for a job in the Katy/Houston area. I have been offered several jobs but those have been rescinded once the background check comes back. My original plan was to be an electrician and that is still the ultimate goal but if I can't do that right now, I am looking for a warehouse job or any job, preferably not fast food or restaurant because of bond conditions. I am a hard worker, strong and dependable. I am fine with working hard and in hot conditions. Does anyone have any ideas on jobs
