Hey everyone,
I’m honestly at a loss here and hoping someone has been through something similar.
Back in May I bought about $9,968 worth of gold from Silver Gold Bull using my Scotiabank Visa Debit card. They shipped it with Purolator and it required an adult signature.
Here’s where everything went wrong.
Purolator says the package was delivered, but their own proof of delivery says it was received by “Reme.” My name is not Reme, I don’t know anyone named Reme, and I never authorized anyone to sign for or receive the package.
As soon as I realized it was marked as delivered, I contacted both Silver Gold Bull and Purolator, filed a Toronto Police report, completed Silver Gold Bull’s Declaration of Loss, and submitted everything to Scotiabank as part of my dispute.
Today I found out Scotiabank denied the chargeback because they said the merchant provided sufficient evidence that the merchandise was delivered. They also reversed the temporary credit, so now my account is almost $10,000 overdrawn.
What frustrates me is that the merchant’s evidence (from what I’ve seen) is basically:
the order confirmation,
proof the payment was authorized,
and the Purolator tracking.
But that same tracking page says the package was received by someone else.
I’m planning on calling the claims department on Tuesday because I want to know:
Can I get the merchant’s full evidence package?
Is there any way to appeal or have the dispute reviewed again?
Has anyone here actually had Scotiabank reverse a denied chargeback after escalating it?
If anyone has dealt with something like this or has any advice on what my next step should be, I’d really appreciate it. This is a lot of money and I’m trying to figure out the best way to move forward.

I have tried searching “TD Visa” and “TD credit card” but nothing shows up.

I just got my gold amex card with scotia, I'm about to go to japan and gonna book with airbnb a total of 1600$ total. My plan was to buy airbnb gift cards at IGA to get the 6x points. Would there be any problem?

After research I've seen people say that Scotia doesn't care about us buying gift cards for maximizing scene points. Would they even let me buy 1600$ worth of gift cards using a credit card at IGA.

I've had the Scotiabank Visa Infinite Passport card for several years and I gave my sister a secondary card. Previously, she was able to use her card to sign up for Visa Airport Companion and use the airport lounges. She got 6 passes a year, same as I do.

But recently she has been told by the Visa Airport Companion app that her card is no longer eligible. Did Scotiabank change it so that supplementary cards are no longer eligible? I tried to get an answer from Scotiabank itself but they said "supplementary cards have never been eligible". Which was wrong because my sister has had to travel a lot and has been to the lounge like 12 separate times, so I didn't want to hear that nonsense. She was physically going into the lounge for free, I know she was. It used to work for a supplementary card and no longer does.

So did this program change or was it a glitch in her card?

I interviewed for a BA role in Scotia Bank, Dallas. I’m on my visa and they said they’ll see what they can do in the first round of interview. They scheduled second and third rounds after that which made me hopeful.

Now it’s been ten days since my last round and I still haven’t heard back from them.

I reached out to the manager last week and he said they’re interviewing other candidates. What does this mean? Should I just stop being hopeful?

Someone please help me. Is there a timeline to hear back from them? My application status is still “interview”

I recently got myself a Scotiabank credit card. I have activated it and am using it for the past two weeks. I don't have any other banking services with Scotiabank but when I try to check the due date for the repayment, I don't see any dates. The entire statement details section is empty. My previous credit card was issued with my chequing account so I am not sure how this works. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

I was trying to log in on the app and it told me my password was wrong, so i thought i forgot it and decided to make a new one. I then tried logging in after setting a new one and it said THAT ONE was wrong, so maybe i mistyped? so i set another new one and made sure everything was right and it said THAT WAS WRONG TOO? And now its just giving me an error saying something went wrong every time.

I've tried the mobile app, the online one, ive tried on wifi, on data... ive checked down detector and i dont see anyone else having issues??? like it generally feels like an issue with scotia but why is there nothing about it?

I recently interviewed for an \*\*operations position within Scotiabank Wealth Management\*\*, and I wanted to hear from anyone who has gone through a similar hiring process with Scotiabank or its Wealth Management division.
Here’s my timeline and experience so far:
I initially applied for the position and later completed an initial screening conversation. After that, I received another call where we discussed my background, previous banking experience, current role, why I was interested in Wealth Management, and why I wanted to return to the financial-services industry.
I was then invited for an in-person interview with two members of the team. The interview was originally scheduled for approximately \*\*30 minutes\*\*, but we ended up speaking for around \*\*45 minutes\*\*.
The interview felt very conversational and positive. They asked me quite a few questions about my previous banking experience, my current experience working in the public sector, what brought me into government, why I now want to return to financial services, my long-term career goals, where I see myself in the future, and why I’m interested in Wealth Management specifically.
We also discussed my interest in building a long-term career within the organization. I explained how my previous banking experience gave me a strong foundation in client service and financial services, while my current public-sector role has strengthened my experience with confidential information, documentation review, attention to detail, organization, compliance, and working in a regulated environment.
At the end of the interview, I was told that I should expect to hear back within approximately \*\*1–2 weeks\*\*, as HR processes and internal approvals can take time and some of the people involved in the approval process were away.
It has now been just over a week since the interview. I also noticed that my application status recently changed from \*\*“Under Consideration” to “Interview,”\*\* despite the interview itself taking place about a week earlier. I’m assuming this may simply be an administrative update in the recruitment system, but I’m curious whether anyone else experienced something similar.
I sent a polite follow-up to the hiring manager asking whether the original 1–2 week timeline still applies or whether the process may take a little longer.
For anyone who has recently gone through the hiring process for an \*\*operations or support position within Scotiabank Wealth Management\*\*, how long did it take to hear back after your interview? Did you receive a phone call or email first? Were references checked before or after a conditional offer? When was the background screening initiated? I interviewed with Scotiabank exactly one week ago. The interview was scheduled for 30 minutes but lasted around 45 minutes and felt very positive.
At the end, the hiring managers told me I should hear back within 1–2 weeks, mentioning that HR approvals could take some time because some approvers were away.
The interesting part is that my application portal stayed as “Under Consideration” until today, when it changed to “Interview”—a full week after my actual interview.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does the status change usually mean someone has reviewed or updated the file, or is it just an administrative update? Did you receive an offer or rejection shortly after your status changed?
