Advice/Wisdom needed
In your experience, what is the best amount of tint for the rear windows?
Also does anyone know if and where clear side markers could be purchased?

Tons of valuable information in this! Just open the index.html file and browse the category or useful links.

It’s an Internet archive of automotive service manuals for just about everything that’s at least ten years old. Because at that point auto manufacturers expect you to junk the old one and buy a new one. So they don’t give a hoot about this website.
Enjoy!

So i notice the mileage seems better in the upper end of the tank than the lower end (half to full vs empty to half). Is this normal or does it mean something is on its last leg?

Hey everybody!
I have a 2002 Saturn SL. My friend brought me an original CD-cassette head unit from the states (I'm from Hungary). It's theft deterrent, and unfortunately the car that contained the radio, did not have the owner's manual, so he couldn't look up for the code. Altough, he took a pic of the vin number of the car, we he was at the junkyard. Do you guys know any websites, or have any ideas how to get my radio code? Or can I write an email for a Chevrolet dealer, and ask them about it?
Thanks in advance for the answers!

I recently got a clutch kit for my 04 Saturn ion 5 speed 2.2 and it drove fine for 2 days and then I noticed my clutch pedal would sometimes go soft and lock me into getting into gears and then I went home and decided to just pump on my clutch pedal with the engine off and my clutch is completely soft now and I open the hood and I see fluid leak near the transmission connection and there is no hydraulic fluid in my reservoir. In this image does the connection look like it’s missing a part? I had a mechanic do this clutch kit and he was terrible to work with and I’m trying to see if it’s possibly something I can replace.

Does anybody have any experience running these in their Saturns? I’ve heard mentions of them around but I wanted to know if people did this often. Which one should I buy if you recommend it? Thanks

Hi guys I have a green Saturn VUE and I’m selling it. I honestly am trying to get rid of it, if anyone is interested please dm me for more details and I’ll be 100% honest about everything. I just wanna make a real honest sale. The listed price isn’t the actual price I want, I’m waiting for someone to haggle me down. I need it gone by the weekend. Everything will be gone inside of the car and the car will be cleaned up by the time of sale, I’ve never sold anything before so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much❤️

Era appropriate Creed bumper sticker
And 2002 NOS floor mats, super hard to find now a days!

I watch a lot of mechanic channels on youtube, probably one of few people thats subs are 99% informative, and one channel a guy has a fumoto drain plug for his oil. With the difficulty of gaskets and tightening properly (and space for a rachet or wrench) i want to put one on.
Its a side spitting plug but is the car too short to put this kind of drain plug on? Mostly worried about speed bumps and dips in my city. And yes probably a stupid question but an even stupider question is one not asked.

One of my headlight bulbs burned out over the weekend. I just replaced both sides yesterday. It was a fairly easy job. There are two pins for each headlight assembly that you have to pull out, then the whole assembly comes out the front. One of the pins on my car was pretty rusted and I had to work it quite a bit to get it to come out. The other three came out pretty easily. I filed the rusted area off the one pin, then when I reassembled I put silicone grease on all the pins to make it easier to get them out. The headlight bulbs themselves are assemblies. They are easy to get out. Unscrew a large cap about 3 inches in diameter a quarter turn and lift off. Unplug the connector from the headlight bulb assembly. Unscrew a retaining ring a quarter turn and the headlight assembly just lifts out. Reverse order to reassemble. The replacement bulb assemblies aren't cheap. Advance Auto had several options for them. They sold them in pairs, which ranged from about $35 to $90. I opted for the $50 ones. The woman at the store gave me a small envelope of "headlight lubricant." She said to put a small quantity on the inside of the socket on the headlight assembly where the electrical plug will go, to make it easier to remove next time. It probably took me a couple hours to replace both headlights; most of that time was for getting the rusted pin out of one side and filing the rust off. If I hadn't had to do that, it probably would've taken 20 to 30 minutes for the whole job.

I have a 1995 saturn sc2. I can't for the life of me get 1 of the 4 interior Bolts removed for the brake booster to replace it. I can't find anything as well about it. Any tips???

So I have a 2001 Saturn sc1 (3rdpic), I absolutely LOVE this car It It just keeps on going and has been nothing but reliable, well anyways on the first I bought a obx header and downpipe/midpipe and everything bolted up and it has been great I noticed a power gain it continues to pull up hills now when before it would kinda start around 60 now it just keeps climbing and climbing what I'm saying is it definitely opened something up and it compliments the rest of my build sounds great pops and etc. now I live in a non emissions county thank God but they still do a "visual" so because of that I was thinking of what to do and thought about cutting the cat off the original pipe and clamping it on to this pipe, think that would work? And don't worry cat would be gutted

Tried my best to recreate my 2006 Saturn Vue AWD in Automation car tycoon. This lets you export to Beam.NG.
Also tried to keep the engine, brakes, suspension, etc. as close to the real thing as possible.
Here are the results. If there's any interest let me know and I'll figure out a way to share the files!

Sway bar nut backed out after doing this job 6000 miles ago.. and of course this happened 40 miles from home (350 for a tow) I tightened it pretty good so I’m not sure how it loosened up like that. I use a winch to compress the sway bar and the ratchet strap to pull it into the control arm. Does anyone have a better method? Just curious

The ac isnt as cold as it was. So to start the car was ice cold before the compressor was replaced. Now not nearly as much.
So a few years ago the OEM compressor gave out. According to the shop the rod in the middle twisted like a twizzler, best analogy he could give me, so it needed replaced. Only option was rebuilds, to which they tried 3 before one worked.
Now it isnt as cold, had the system checked, pressures were good, refridgerant was replaced with fresh, even a gentle scrub of the condensor, but nothing helped.
I also noticed an issue while on a long trip (6+ hour drive). Id get AC for about an hour then the fan speed would slow to nearly stopping. If i turned off the ac and just did fan it would instantly speed up and after about 20 minutes i click ac and itd be normal ac (keeps fan speed) again. It aslo returned to normal ac after stops at gas stations.
Lets say the poorer ac performance is issue A and the car trip thing is issue B. Please note which thing you are commeting on please.

Ran across an ad for a 2002 SL1 with 35K, garage-kept, sold by a dealer who found it at an estate sale. Asking price is $7500. What's a fair counter-offer?

I backed into an SUV coming out of a blind spot over a hill in a parking lot and made a nasty dent in the corner of my 2002 SC2 rear bumper. This is the THIRD bumper that's been put on here (the factory one is long gone after being replaced from a wreck, this one is one I put on myself to replace the FIRST replacement that had some cracking I didn't care for).
So now this one is as bad as the one I replaced about a year ago
Nearest replacement is almost 300 miles away :(
So I just took a deadblow hammer, took the bumper off, and banged the dent out of it. Sadly the cracks are there for good now and the paint is swirling/chipping from the dent, but there's nothing that I can really do at this point. If a replacement ever shows up closer I may go and snag it, but I guess I gotta live with it for now.
On a side note, the impact also pushed the rear driver side quarter panel up a tiny bit to the point where the suicide door is scraping the panel whenever I open it 😭

I drive a 2006 Saturn VUE V6 and it over heats a lot! Like I drive 45 minutes for work and it’s almost in the red zone. It’s been sooo hot recently where I live so I feel like that’s adding to the heat. I went to a good year just to see what was going on, I just wanted them to check my coolant but they ended up doing a whole inspection ($100 down the drain!) and they said my fan needs to be replaced and that it’s $600 for labor. Is that even worth it?? I don’t think so and I think ima just get a new car. I’m tired of getting all there repairs is basically like having a car payment (I brought my car in full and I spent about $3k on fixing it in a month)

Hi all, thankfully someone posted a link to this subredit in another, stagnated, saturn one. I been waiting for over a year to get approved to post there lol
Ok so my first question to the group:
I have an 02 SL1 SOHC which has a water issue. Ive noticed the steering wheel and shifter (manual) was tacky/sticky. I always thought it was humidity after rains until the other week. I was able to get in the car directly after a really heavy rain and it was sopping wet in 2 spots on the floor board. The first was the carpet up behind the pedals and the second was in front of the gas pedal (where my right foot would be planted if i was sitting in a chair or had the cruise set). The odd part is it was isolated to just those spots.
-No sign it travelled, wet streaks, from elsewhere.
-Feeling up behind/under the cluster panels (ie if i reached up past the OBDII to grab the back of the steering wheel shaft) there was no moisture
-i had a glass shop take a look but the seals on the windshield are good and the cowl was checked too but no problems there either
-door seals have a clean line dry/wet with no blotchy areas to show weak door seals
-googled and checked the ac drain but after shoving a screwdriver in to maybe break up a clog it cam out clean amd the ac condensate is properly draining
-no sunroof
Im at a loss, though the car is old and showing its age it has no codes. Runs great and gets great mileage. My last idea is to pull the seats and carpet to look for the metaphorical needle. Anyone have ideas to why i have these water spots?
