I want to know if there are Sabahans out there who thought of founding a startup in deep tech? Not proposing or promising anything, just want to know.
Not talking about another Flutter app SaaS slop. Talking about industrial machinery / aerospace.
Hit me up, or even better, leave a comment.

Hi guys! I'm cross posting this from r4r but I'm not particularly sure if it's allowed in this sub. If it isn't allowed, please delete the post mods!
My friend (she found her bf on reddit of all places) told me to try posting on reddit to find the love of my life as meeting people organically hasn't really been that fruitful (dated once before 5 years ago but it was traumatizing to say the least)
A little about me:
I'm from Sandakan and moved to Australia for about 10 years but I'm back at Sabah now, at penampang. I'm 25 years old, female, my race is Chinese and I'm Buddhist but not religious. I'm 158cm and weigh 58kg, I was 63kg at my heaviest but I'm actively working out since early this year and I've successfully lost 5kg! (with crocs on, I'm 160cm±). I'm currently working as a journalist!
I'm open to sharing my Instagram after we've talked a little just so we don't waste each other's time.
I'm fairly soft spoken and shy, my MBTI is INTP. I'm more of a homebody but would spend most of my off days exploring new cafes and also be a tourist in my own home state!
I really like reading and art as well! I don't really game though. The only mobile game i play is mobile legends but I'm not really that good at it.
For my SO, I'd really like if they value kindness, honesty, good communication, and genuine effort! Being kind hearted, emotionally mature, and ready for a meaningful connection are plus points as well!
Preferably someone older than me or same age as me and below 40 years old, no race preference. I'd also really like if you don't have a beard. (no hate towards people with beards though)

My brother suddenly asking me to go to a vacation with him to Sabah this year end.
He said he have 4 days. He want to see the view of nature.
Do you think we have enough time?
Also where to go? I have no idea. Initially I want to ask in Facebook, but every single groups are spammed with ads and random posts.
Can anyone share experience, or maybe tips? and importantly the cost. Where to go, what to do, what to avoid.
Semporna is like mostly sea right? Someone said we should go to Kundasang.
We are from Perak and like 1 1/2hour from Penang. So if possible, fly from Penang. We have sister like an hour from KLIA though. We prefer whichever cheap.
We have no experience getting on a flight.

Sabah is incredibly diverse, and many families today are already ethnically mixed. On top of that, even within families that aren’t mixed, it’s not uncommon for children not to carry the father’s surname, so the surname line effectively ends with that generation.
Personally, I can see the value of surnames. They make it easier to trace family lineage, especially among communities like the natives where genealogy and knowing your family roots can be meaningful. At the same time, I also think preserving family history doesn’t necessarily depend on surnames alone as it can be passed down through family records, stories, and education.
Do you think surnames are important in Sabah? Is it a big deal if a family chooses not to continue using the father’s surname, or is it just a personal preference?

Hi, everyone. I was wondering if anyone here has installed SESB Smart Meter? What's your experience been like? Has the change been worth it?

Hello everyone, as stated at the title, does anyone know where/how to find room rentals at Pekan Telupid? Or if anyone knows someone that's renting out their space in Telupid?
Room Rental at Pekan Telupid
Rental type: non-sharing room, shared space is okay
Ready to move: end of August 2026
Budget: ~RM300
Gender: 1x Male
- Transportation is not a problem
- Basic necessities (mattress, kitchen, toilet)
Thanks in advance!!
Lost RM800 worths of item from a fraud, God damn shouldn't have trusted that guy. Perhaps I should stop living in my own head about how rainbow and sunshine this world is.
Now I'm at the risk of losing my job or pay rm800 worth of beer

im enrolling in CCKK for the new sem, when i told some people about it they kind of gave me some fear mongering type of statements like “are you sure?” or, “do you not have any other options?”, etc without giving me a fair reason for why.
i do acknowledge that its a shoplot kind of place and i could apply somewhere better but its the only place with the courses that im interested in, also the only place my parents approve of. its not the best yea prob but is there any other reason? maybe about the students or something?
im here to just ask if anyone can provide any other perspectives.

However there are some empty days in between which I’m thinking to do some hikes and I came across someone who recommend Pulau Berhala.
