Recently chose to just make the show my background noise while I'm doing stuff, and I've found myself feeling more and annoyed with a lot in the show. Just hit episode 3 in season 5, Mother. When I was a kid remember always thinking it was so cool how they badgered the suspects and bent the rules to get convictions, nodding as they complained about red tape, buy now boy, as an adult its mainly just me sitting back and waiting for more Munch calling out the system.

The chemistry. The witty remarks. The comebacks. The Munch and Fin duo was everything i needed and more.

I'm catching up, and just watched S24E15 "King of the Moon" which caught me!

The look on her face was priceless! I can't figure out if he ad libbed it and they left it in, or if it was creative scripting with the cheeky personality they gave him. It seemed oddly out of character for the shy kid they started the episode with.
This entire episode was such a heart wrencher. Dementia is so cruel. !<

I originally posted this on tumblr cause i don’t like making multiple posts in the subreddit in one night. I rewatched part 33 and I can’t tell if Olivia can’t get her story straight or if she’s just talking in the perspective of the victim? At first I obviously assumed she was talking from the perspective of the victim cause she made it VERY clear that she wasn’t raped, I thought she was just crying cause she was taking it personally but then Amanda brings up Lewis? I guess it makes sense that Olivia said “you can go 3 days without food, water or sleep” or whatever she said. The point is that I am confused, do we even know the extent of the Lewis situation? I know we only saw under 40 minutes out of 4 days.

I hate to say it but the show is getting old enough to the point where our older season perps are getting released, I’m bringing this up because I was watching “undercover” last night and realised that Lowell Harris is literally out in season 28 or 29?? Anyways the point is do we think any of our older season perps are going to return next season? I mean we have seen it a couple times before in characters like Henry messner or even Brady Harrison.

Anyways I’m just excited for season 28, I’m loving the current squad more than the past few years, especially Terry Bruno right now.

I’m not even done with the episode and Elliot has me infuriated. I didn’t realize how insane the reaction to the new definition of rape was. I mean seriously, how hard is it to believe three women overpowered a man in a vulnerable position?? The fact that Elliot truly believed because he had an erection he wanted it? That was consent to him??? He literally had proof with the lawyers phrase and still wouldn’t believe him. That was so upsetting to watch. Olivia and Alex being the only ones who even believe him and care enough to pursue it, love my girls. I’m struggling to finish this episode, I feel like I want to pull my hair out 😭

UPDATE: IVE FINISHED THE EPISODE AND I AM FUMINGGGGG WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE GOT OFF???

I hadn't watched Law & Order: SVU since I was a teenager and when I saw it on Netflix I decided to give it another shot, especially the newer seasons.

First, I don't remember if it was always like this, but this episode felt very poorly written. The culprit turns out to be someone we've never even met before (a completely random guy who shows up in the last three minutes). Maybe I'm too used to Agatha Christie's Poirot where the killer is actually someone introduced earlier but the whole time I was trying to figure out whether it was Erik or the father.

Speaking of Erik, that interrogation felt really odd. I don't remember Olivia and Elliot jumping to so many wild assumptions to his face right away. It came across as amateurish interrogation. And why didn't Erik immediately mention that he had worked at the foster home or that he had been Mackenzie's tutor? Instead, he made it sound like he had just met her at the train station and bought her a soda because she seemed nice (???). Then while he's about to be accused of possessing child sexual abuse material he starts asking Olivia about her marital status? I mean even before he was cleared lol. That was so bizarre.

When they found Ella they just... took her home? I would have expected her to be interviewed first and for the parents to come to the station instead. Also ten years later she's an adult. It felt weird that they simply reunited her with her parents. For all we know she could have run away from them voluntarily.

Overall, it felt like the writers didn't really know where they wanted the episode to go and eventually had to wrap it up after squeezing everything they could out of Mackenzie's storyline.

I honestly remember the older episodes being much better constructed.

Can anyone tell me if the next episodes improve?

And what did you think of this one? (aside from the open ending. By that point it wasn't even the most facepalm-worthy part of the episode.)

With some of the cases that have gone on? What do you think, a few that come the mind is the D4vid case and in my state the serial rapist Alvin Campbell Jr. who got convicted in June.

In the Part 33 episode, making small talk constitutes hitting on a woman now? I thought SVU overplayed this interaction after their meeting and continued that theme in the S21 E10 Must Be Held Accountable episode. If that was hitting on a woman I’ve essentially hit on thousands. lol

I'm calling it. The series finale will have Olivia get killed(likely at her own retirement party at the bar) and this kicks off a spin-off/movie where Noah works on finding her killer and bringing them to justice(street justice is an option).

The killer will most likely be the leader of sex trafficking ring Olivia helped take down.

I'm curious to hear what y'all think it will be like!

I'm catching up on SVU & just finished Season 16, Episode 8 ("Spousal Privilege"). The main domestic abuse case was well done, but the way the writers treated Nick Amaro compared to Amanda Rollins drives me crazy.
The episode paints Nick in a bad light by having him punch a wall during a fight with his ex. Then, the defense attorney uses Nick's anger management history to attack the squad on the stand. But the bar scene near the end with Rollins really bothers me. Rollins drunk, gets very mean, using his failed marriage, & starts hitting, taunting him as St. Nick -hoping he hits her back. Nick didn’t but walks away, but her behavior was toxic

Am I off-base in my impression of Rollins?

Does anyone ever call Rollins out on this, of other issues (like gambling) or does she just keep getting away with it?

Do Nick and Rollins ever address how messed up that fight was?

Does Rollins ever actually grow up and face consequences later in the series?

What do we expect from S28?

Today I feel powerless. The decision of a womanizing, unfaithful man, the crime and the lies of this degenerate, led a sick woman to sacrifice herself to protect her daughter, who killed the woman who was having sex with her father. Here I see how the system makes a woman end up in jail and the father go free. While what he did wasn't a crime, he is just as guilty as the daughter. Here I see an empathetic Olivia, whom I love, who also sought a way to protect that girl. This is how I see that justice isn't always served through the law.

I am watching SVU for the very first time (I know, I’m late) and I’m on season 3. A lot of episodes have shocked me/upset me and I’ve been frustrated not having anyone to talk to about them, but this episode was my final straw for getting into this subreddit. I’m so heartbroken for Glenn! This poor boy went through so much and he braved his trauma to get justice for his foster sister, Cassie, just to get placed right back into the system. And the old woman died so it was all for nothing. Given her asking what happens to Glenn, I feel like the girls’ mom would have taken him in if she knew what was going to happen to him too! This ending was so frustrating. In my mind, she adopted him and they all lived happily ever after.

This is one of my first times posting here so forgive me if I flair this incorrectly. But I’m in the middle of watching season 14 episode 12 Criminal Hatred and the defense attorney starts her opening statement saying ”What am I thinking right now?: That I wish that I had a 2nd cup of coffee before court this morning, or that Mr. Barba’s prosecution is so wrong that he should be taken out and shot.”

Like hello 😭😭😭 I understand that she isn’t a well-known attorney, but my Lord. And Barba’s face when she said it was probably the funniest thing I’ve seen this season.

So... I started watching OC because of the crossover episodes with SVU.

They are hinting HEAVILY on Liv being El's true love/love of his life. Yet, DW still won't put them together. Why all the will they/won't they if they won't end up together anyway? Where it was never the plan in the first place.

It's just pissing me off. First 12 seasons of SVU and now the heavy hinting in OC.

And a certain scene being filmed that never made the cut.

I know a lot of people don't want Bensler/EO to happen, but I'm one if the (also lots of people) who does want it to happen.

I saw a clip from twitter of an episode that starts with them arresting a bunch of predators who were talking to an undercover cop online. One of the guys the arrest is a man with some sort of disability. The rest of the episode (I’m assuming) is about him.

I haven’t seen the newer seasons so I know it’s one of those and I’ve been trying to look it up but I can’t find it. The one clip looked good so I want watch the whole thing!

I’m sorry but Carisi looks so much like the Joe alwyn cat in this scene, it was the first thing I noticed. In fact he actually looks so much like modern day, sleep deprived joe alwyn it’s scary. (Don’t hate me I love hamlet)
