I just finished Saga, and I honestly don’t know why I waited so long to read it!

Part of me is kicking myself because I could have experienced this years ago. The other part is really glad I waited because I got to binge such a huge chunk of the story over a long holiday weekend. It was the kind of series that completely took over my free time.
What surprised me most wasn’t just how great the story is, because that goes without saying, but how deeply attached I became to this family and the people who drift in and out of their lives, celebrating their victories and feeling the weight of their losses long after their stories ended.

The world-building is incredible too. Every new planet feels distinct, lived-in, and worth exploring. And Fiona Staples’ artwork is just unreal. The character designs are so creative that I constantly caught myself lingering on pages longer than I needed to, just taking everything in and looking at all the little details.
This instantly became one of those books that sticks with you long after you close it. I’m already jealous of anyone who gets to experience it for the first time.

Now I get to join the rest of you and wait for the next issue.

So I know, by and large, a lot of people on comic subreddits prefer physical but I don't have a lot of shelf space so I go digital for a lot of my comics. I already have the first three deluxe editions but when I preordered Book 4, my preorder got cancelled and it looks like there isn't a listing on Amazon or Kindle. Will there still be a digital release down the line?

A similar situation arose with the fourth deluxe edition of Lazarus where the physical copy came out but the digital version didn't drop until months later. Could this be the situation?

Or has anything like that appeared in the comic that would name what each of the various races and planets are and what the various planetary allegiances are? It dawned on my the other day on a bike ride that the “humans” or whatever species “the will” and “the brand” are.
They aren’t ever really named as such nor is their planet named. is it’s actually our earth? and I don’t think anyone ever makes a comment about where their people’s traditional allegiances lie. Nor do any of the other races ever make any jokes or comments about humans being essentially just like landfall and wreath inhabitants but entirely hornless and wingless. All the other races we encounter outside wreath and landfall tend to have more creature and animal based features.

Also I'm just really happy with the thumbnail. I made a Star Wars inspired Saga thumbnail and I feel like it came out looking really good

I was already devastated with the Treehouse being destroyed last Volume. It felt like getting stabbed in the heart. But now Sophie getting killed?!

That's just the knife getting twisted. After everything she's been through... I hate Petrichor. But I also love Petrichor and can't blame her for wanting revenge. I also can't blame Sophie for jumping in front of the arrow meant for Will.

This series man... makes me feel all the feels.

The only comic series I’ve read in completion are Saga and Robert Kirkman’s “The Walking Dead.” I’m definitely not deep into the comic book scene but I loved them both and am looking for more recommendations.

If you enjoyed Saga, id love to hear some recommendations from y’all. I have a very long flight on Saturday so I’m definitely trying to get lost in a comic during this duration.

Look at what showed up earlier than expected and that too on the weekend. I can't think of any other series that has succeeded in testing my patience like SAGA has. Even held off from reading the singles and trades just for this day. I will be restarting the series from Vol.1 and end up finishing with this

Just finished it, and now my heart is ripped out, thanks Brian & Fiona.

That was definitely one of the more depressing volumes in this series. There have been many sad character deaths up to this point, sure, but the whole thing on Phang...damn.

I'll still keep reading this series, though, because I need to find out how this all ends. Also enjoying the characters, dialogue, storytelling, and the beautiful and imaginative artwork.

I've seen others say they fell off after book 3 for various reasons (mostly the time gap and character decisions)

I found this reading to be... beautiful, sad and a good push to the narrative. I loved many moments, and eagerly await the itch to reread for a more solid opinion. A couple "surprises" didn't really catch me off guard, sure.

I just cant deal with the wait to see what Brobot has been up to 😭

Honestly I was pissed off at The Will for this...

My hate for Ianthe know no bound.
