So yet again find People moving into the country setting up a business not doing any research.
Did you not do your research and when you found out that was a pack of hounds nearby did you not work out that hounds will make a noise. (You call it singing actually not howling) Those hounds kennels are locat in the area a hundred or so years before you moved there. Speak to any of the local and I mean really local people and they will tell you time certain times a year hounds were how it's not a anything vindictive against you or your business it's just one of those things.
I realise it's unfortunate that some of your guests find it difficult, along with cocks crowing, church bells clanging, , and all the general uncouth ways of country people who smell and don't keep their gardens tidy.
Going back you local pack of hounds, and a fine pack too, personally I like the sound nothing better but I'm then like one of your other correspondence I'm a hunting man.
It's a problem I know for people from the town who move to the country and then try and change things into their urban ways, just one of those things.
Don't worry one of these days the countryside will be urbanised and you will all be very happy but in the meantime I'm afraid your urbanite ways haven't quite penetrated that lovely rural Sussex.

Do you live in rural America? If so, I'd love to interview you for a story I'm working on!
My name is Arielle Zionts, I'm a rural health reporter at KFF Health News, a U.S.-based national, nonprofit media outlet. You can learn more about KFF Health News here and see the kinds of stories I write here.
For this interview, I'd ask what you think about artificial intelligence (AI) in rural healthcare.
For example, do you think AI will help keep rural hospitals open and make it easier for rural people to access care and improve their health? Where does AI fall on your list of priorities for what your local hospital and clinic needs? Would you (or do you already) use health-related AI, like wearing an AI-backed smartwatch or other "wearable" that sends data to your doctor? Or letting your doctor use AI to "listen" to your appointment to help them save time with their notes/charting? I can let you know more about these and other kinds of AI health tech if you aren't famliar with them.
If you're interested in doing an interview please send me a DM or email me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
Thank you!

Hi everyone. I live in a rural area and I’ve been thinking a lot about the lack of support for pregnant and postpartum women in small communities.
I didn’t have a lot of support during my own pregnancy and postpartum experience, and it really made me realize how limited resources can be outside of larger towns or cities.
Recently, someone suggested I look into becoming a doula, and I’ve been considering whether that might be a way to help fill some of those gaps locally. I’m especially interested in postpartum support and making sure women aren’t going through that time alone.
For those living in rural areas—what kind of postpartum or pregnancy support did you actually have access to? What felt missing or hard to find?
And for anyone working in maternal health or birth work in rural communities, is there demand for doulas or similar support roles in those areas?

For those who live rurally or have bought rural property:
What do people underestimate before buying land or moving out of town?
I’m interested in practical issues that do not always show up in listings or agent descriptions.
A few examples:
- road maintenance
- wells
- septic
- power
- internet
- trash service
- emergency access
- neighbors
- easements
- zoning
- permits
- flooding
- animals
- snow, mud, or seasonal access
- distance to supplies or services
What do you wish more buyers checked before making an offer?
What problems tend to surprise people after closing?
What would make you tell someone, “Do not buy that property until you verify this first”?
I’m researching rural property due diligence and would appreciate real-world lessons learned

Hi everyone, I’m a student researcher at UT Austin, studying access to subspecialty healthcare in rural vs. urban communities. I’m trying to better understand real experiences with getting referred to specialists (like cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology, etc.), including barriers such as travel distance, wait times, availability of providers, and how often people are able to actually receive that care. The goal of this research is to highlight gaps in access and help improve how subspecialty care is delivered in underserved and rural areas. The survey is completely anonymous and takes about 3-5 minutes. If you’re willing to share your experience, I’d really appreciate your input! Please feel free to DM me any other information if my survey doesn't reflect your true experiences, as well.

Hi I’m a South Asian woman & in my mid 30s. I want to move to somewhere rural with my family including my three kids 7y, 5y & 2y from NYC but I’m scared they’ll be bullied at school for being South Asian. I’m sick of living in the city & it’s so expensive. I want to buy a house with a little bit of land, raise some animals & grow my own food. I’ve done some research but I want to know from people who live out there. I’m also a homebody and I like to keep it to myself so I’m not worried about myself. I’m just worried about my children since they have to go in to the community more than me. So far I’m interested in GA, VA, TX, PA. Is there any rural towns where there’s a bit more diversity and not crazy expensive? Please help.

Hello! I am a library science grad student currently conducting informal research on increasing accessibility for library users in rural communities. If you find yourself living in a rural community (whether or not you currently use libraries) I would greatly appreciate if you would assist in my research by answering a few questions, feel free to skip a question, answer only one question, or answer all the questions. If you have additional comments not covered by the question related to libraries and rural communities I would love to hear that as well. Thank you!

if you're not yet aware the cvrd is trying to pass some very heavy duty bylaws concerning rural life in cowichan valley.. the worst part is they were hoping to do it w/out anyone "noticing"! yup, they got caught though.. pls join this new group that's coming together to call out these city council folks for their deceptive plan and let land owners control their own land.. i will give one example: they're trying to pass a bylaw the city inspectors can go onto "your" land at their will, no notice or anything, to inspect and make sure you're complying.. um, NO! all sorts of other intrusive plans are posted in the group for anyone to read.. this is over-stepping and over-reach by the cvrd in a big big way :/new group for cowichan landowners
