Go ahead with those crazy nerf but let make this thing a feature!

Using standard runes without joat to gauge the nerfs, I did a full combo on 0 armor dummy before and after nerfs using PBE and live servers, with 2 different setup.

First image is live server, second is pbe.
First dummy test is lvl 6 with doran blade and a longsword.
Second dummy test is lvl16 with doran blade + axiom + dd + endless hunger.

Combo I did : ER - AA - Q1 - AA - Q2 - AA - Q3 - AA - W - R2 - AA.
A bit unrealistic to pull the whole abilities sequence late game but still gives a pretty good idea of how the total dmg would be affected.

Keep in mind that dmg shown here is before any armor was applied.

From what ive experienced unless you post a cool clip you made or your wish for a skin. Any opinion you have will be hate flooded by people who check this sub to whine and moan about Riven. You could have the most lukewarm take flooded by people saying "youre just a riven abusing fucking loser".

Just wondering what people’s thoughts are. This makes sense to me from a game design perspective but I wanted more experienced players’ opinions because I stopped maining riven like in S9

Since the release of Gluttonous Greaves + a lot of healing from Endless Hunger buffs and the surrounding ecosystem, she has risen to the top of the pack As a light fighter broadly, she's having the shape that we think is reasonably healthy, though long term, giving her more choices in the first slot other than Axiom (eg. more durable paths as well) would be broadly desirable (though she synergizes very well with the ability haste there), that would allow her to have other modes of success that aren't just one shotting her target

R bAD: 25% -> 20%

R Wind Slash AD Ratio: 60%-180% -> 55%-165%

I have way more hours on riven and i barely hit e4 with her where Platinum was pure hell, final was i had 500 games as riven with 52% win ratio. Meanwhile as zed i have 150 games and 66% win ratio i smash everyone but for riven its way more difficult to deal damage and do the job. Back in season 6 i hit diamond 3 as mid lane with zed ahri lb. I tried to do same with riven and combining have over 2 milion points on her while as zed i have 1/4 of experience compared to riven but i just dominate most of my games where as riven im average minion destroyer. Also playing mid seens way easier i feel game flowing, since top feels like mental damage. The problem is riven so fun to play i cant stop playing her so its always stress on top if i win because im not sure while on mid i feel sorry for the other guy

I am aware she was insanely good in mid lane, but the 5% reduction in base ad seems a little much on top of the jack nerf and r nerf. I think shes going to be very hard to play in top lane, not impossible but these nerfs seemed a little overkill if you ask me. They should have nerfed her items or just her R.

I'm emerald mid/jungle. Recently committed to the riven journey top and getting smashed in gold elo. Really need advice on the 1-9, specially the 1-6.

I understand macro ok enough to be useful mid/late on riven but I lose my lane every single time. These are some things I'm struggling with, appreciate any feedback.

1. Q delay lvl 1: So in theory, against most champs I win if I lvl 1 q delay into 3rd q to engage and just ignite fight to death? Felt like I did this against mord lvl 1 but died just before the 6 sec cd of q came back.

2. I can't get on top of my laner properly. I can get on top of them if I use my abilities (e, q's) but now I'm on cd's, minions targeting me and just walking back eating more dmg, trade lost. I try to have minion advantage but then opponent just never comes near me. I have had some success using short trade combos, q-w-aa-e out. But it is like barely any dmg and they heal it back up or shield it.

3. I feel extremely predicatable. Like everyone knows what I do, has a counter and is just waiting for me to do it. Fiora w, mord shield, ambessa kite, yorick cage, set e. Ok I should bait it those cd's bc i have low cd's. I use abilities to bait, get my cd's back, hop on them, tank minion wave, do barely dmg, they get cd's back up, I lose.

4. Damage. I don't know how to do damage early. Q to catch up or dodge and I'm just left with mediocore autos and no sustain. I lose every single trade. When I get items, I know I do a ton of dmg, esp with aa, but early I'm just missing something.

All these kind of tie into this one main feeling that I know I have a kit that can do so much, but I can never get myself in the position to utilize it (specifically talking early game). In order to get in their face, do my combos, I need to start from a disadvantage it feels like and make a miracle happen to get the kills.

I am not saying the champ is bad or doesn't work. I know it is user error, just looking for tips.

Riven nerf, enough said

Honestly, if we’re being serious does Riven really deserve a nerf right now? In my opinion, not really. There are other champions that are much more in need of changes and have had a bigger impact on games for a long time. Riven is a champion that requires a huge amount of practice, mechanics, and matchup knowledge. Just because someone plays her at a high level doesn’t automatically mean the champion itself is broken. Before people start celebrating her nerf, it’s worth looking at the bigger picture when it comes to game balance. There are champions that have been providing too much value for a long time while requiring much less skill, and those should be a higher priority. Especially since the nerf Riven is about to receive looks like a really big one. If Riot goes too far, it’s very possible that one or two patches later we’ll see buffs again once they realize the nerf was too heavy

why didn't my q connect ? is it because I flashed after Q'ing ?

Recently I've been experimenting with different rune setups on Riven. There are a lot of matchups, especially against ranged top laners, where Conqueror gets almost no value.

I've found that First Strike (in lanes where you can consistently proc it) and Stormraider's Surge are both viable options in a lot of games.

The First Strike page has honestly become my favorite because it reminds me a lot of Season 13 top lane Kayn (minus the inting for form). The Inspiration tree feels insanely good on Riven. You get Cash Back, Triple Tonic, and Jack of All Trades.

If you're running Jack of All Trades, avoid building Eclipse. Prioritize LDR or Mortal Reminder over Serylda's Grudge so you can fully stack the rune.

I personally like taking Transcendence and Gathering Storm as my secondary runes, but you can honestly go with almost any secondary tree depending on the game.

Stormraiders surge is especially helpful into ranged top laners. I've also tried Glacial Augment against ranged champions, but the slow doesn't feel impactful enough, so it seems pretty underwhelming.

I see a lot of Riven mains running the exact same rune page every game, so I'd encourage you all to experiment a bit yourselves (preferably in normal games).

I am currently on a top lane arc, with the goal of reaching Masters. I am Masters JG main, and I started this climb playing Darius, Volibear, and Ambessa, I climbed to about emerald 1, untill i found interest in Riven and started to main her, Losing LP but managing to keep my account in Emerald. I am now starting to do better and climb back up. However I still want to ask for advice, my main problem with Riven is my mental. I feel like everything and everyone is playing to counter Riven. I understand that is logical, however I need advice on how to change my playstyle and mindset from being a Talon / Rengar jungle and sneaking up and getting kills with low elo players not being able to anticipate this. To playing Riven where low elo players are not only anticipating my moves, but also playing around them better. For example, almost every lane i play against Exhaust, which is okay I feel like it neutralizes some lanes for a long time untill Cooldown Exhuast is outmatched by Riven R / Ignite. Then there are tanks where i play against Malphite and feel like my mindset is to get ahead which only puts me further behind. And then there is the enemy's champion picks and playstyle. Firstly, I might have confirmation bias however it seems whenever i pick Riven people love to counterpick Renekton or Poppy (even support) just to counterpick the Riven as it is so feared or well known what her counters are. Where if I was onetricking rengar or talon they dont know that Lee Sin and Twisted fate make the game hard for them. Secondly, I feel like most games jgl path to my lane knowing it will be volatile, which makes sense and i should play around it. Finally, i also just genuinely feel like jungle players are by far the worst at the game; myself included, hence i'm doing this climb. Again this could be a bias, but whenever I play jungle in low elo it is very easy to smurf, ok you might say it is because you know the role, u dont know top or mid. Well this is true, i also notice when playing top or mid (when i get filled). The enemy jgler i see all their mistakes, the bad ganks, the bad tempo, the playing on bad timers. However I feel like Top and Mid laners in Emerald generally know how to keep their tempo, and fundamentals of the game, at a lot higher level than the jungler in that same game. Now there is the exception here and there where they make huge macro errors. This brings me onto my final point, I feel my Riven is probably Gold level at best, however im keeping an emerald rank from some of my knowledge and experience playing in Masters as Jungle. Any advice for me to break through this mental barrier playing Riven, feeling like i need to have so much respect for enemy in lower elo, when im so used to not having to respect the enemy at all playing Rengar and Talon.
