Not that good at crafty stuff like this but it seems to do the job. The Velcro is sewn a little off-center and the crochet part is a tad bit too loose but that can be fixed

Weight-loss/Diet From 243 lbs to 181 lbs. Today I lost my best friend of 20 years, and I'm dedicating this milestone to him.

I've been struggling with getting back on the grind with ringfit for a few years after falling off after great success at launch and in 2022. I finally got back in last summer dropping from 243 to 213 in a few months but life got in the way and I fell off until February. I went up to 218 and since then am down to 181 and my target is 165 by mid/end of August.

However, my childhood best friend who fortunately survived a heart attack and stroke in 2018 had to get a heart transplant and was on life support fighting for his life. I was thinking about him every day and cried a lot of ringfit sessions. Today was one of the worst days of my life seeing my best friend go but I want to be the best person that I can possibly be. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for him and I want to push myself even further to see this through. I wanted to wait until I fully reach my target to post, but I loved my friend so much I hope reading this can help inspire others. I have many ideas planned in the near future with ringfit, but today is sad day for me.

Equipment Ring Fit Adventure with Orange Theory Fitness monitor

Post image
31 Upvotes

I like having a big title. Anyway, I did a workout using the orange theory monitor. It says orange if the heart rate was high enough to supposedly cause fat burning later. I think it's interesting because Ring Fit is a nice comfy exercise game based on this.

As for the statistics, the in game monitor and the orangetheory montior agreed on the heart rate when measured post run/workout.

An interesting but probably unimportant fact is that the orangetheory monitor says you burn more calories than Ring Fit does. I assume the orangetheory monitor just heart rate or vibrations or both while Ring Fit has specific tables for the exercise.

Considering that this was supposed to be a week off, I still did a couple of ring sessions so let’s get into it

The positive the negative and everything else in between: there is not really much I can say hence I’ve put it all in one heading, I generally wasn’t going to do any workouts whatsoever for week six as I had a Hella busy week last week.

I had tickets for two stadium tours both BTS and My Chemical Romance who decided to hit the UK in the same week 😒😒

meaning I spent the majority of the week in central London in 32° hell fire, sweating my arse off on the tubes and trying not to hate everyone and everything, I generally think I probably burned more calories at each of the concerts through dancing and screaming than I would’ve on the ring anyway 😂😂 however my birthday year begins with 19’ therefore concerts are a lot more growling now than they used to be when I was a wee teen and I am feeling it oh man, am I feeling it!

I have not pushed myself and I’m kinda happy for that because I now have to go back to work and everything wants to fall off as it is

I did a long session last night because I know that I need to get back in to essentially movement otherwise the lag will hit and I won’t pick it up as well as I want to next week but other than that there’s not much to update on

Question of the week what was your first concert/favourite concert?
My first independently chosen was green day in 2009
My favourite by far Hallyu popfest

Soundtrack of the week: my favourite songs performed at the concerts

Dionysus: BTS

Welcome to the Black Parade: MCR

Run bts: BTS

The famous last words:MCR

Troubleshooting Custom workout not being recognized now

I have included a custom workout that I start with to get myself warmed up. I, then, move on to whichever world I am still in. Up until recently, at the end, when my workout would be summarized, the custom workout would be included. The game is no longer doing that now. It’s like it’s not even recognizing that I did it. I’ve done a hard reset. I’ve double checked and I am using my profile… I’m not sure what has changed up. Has anyone else had this issue?

This week was the calm before the storm as next week will be Hella busy as I am in London for both BTS and MCR. Let’s get into this update.

The positive:- my stamina has definitely improved. The game itself is getting harder yet I am noticing that I’m able to play it longer without any delayed pains and aches.

The negative:- i’m not taking it too much to heart but I have not been able to do nearly as much as I wanted however three days a week it’s still plenty and logically I know I’m improving and overdoing it this week just wasn’t an option as I have far too much to do next week so the worst thing I could’ve done was pushed and ended up with an injury. I just need to stop making myself feel bad.

The lessons I’ve learnt:- adventure mode requires a lot more dedication in terms of time. I could do five workouts a week without any problems when my playlist were just 20 minutes long however to achieve the best results for stamina building I have found that I need to do prolonged sessions which when you work full-time is just a wee bit difficult however three days a week is not nothing so as I said before I’m not going to beat myself up about it

Soundtrack of the week

BAD:-ATEEZ

Champion (Remix) [feat. RM]:-Fall Out Boy

singasong:-THE 8 & VERNON

Home Sweet Home(ft.Taeyang&Daesung):-G-dragon

Question of the week:- do you have a favourite fit-skill that is always in your lineup without question? mine is standing twist or overhead hip shake

Gameplay How Many Fireballs Does Final Dragaux Shoot?

It's hard to count them when the attack is happening, so I'm certain with the number I came up with.

I counted 7 waves of attacks, with I think 15 fireballs per wave, plus the one at the start, makes it 106 by my estimation.

Does anyone have any data on this?

This weeks update will come with a lot of complaining about the heat anyone in Europe I’m sure you’re used to it, anyone outside of Europe I’m very sorry but you’re gonna have to deal with it. The entirety of the continent is melting 🥵🥵🥵

The positive: I did it!!! I did less than I wanted to, but I don’t care. I still stood up and I did it and that’s an achievement and I’m taking it.

The negative: my country is currently hotter than the devil‘s arsehole. I have no energy. I’m sweating in places that I didn’t know I could and I’ve had about three hours sleep for the last two weeks not prime condition to be doing any workouts.

Shout out to any of the Europeans that are suffering through the heat, I feel you, I’m melting with you and yes, all the fans are sold out in my country too 😭😭😭😭 and to anyone who is is about to come up with I’m from a tropical country we get hotter winters than this heat wave you don’t know you’re not here😫😫. Our infrastructure is not built for hot weather everyone who currently steps in a building is being baked alive. You just don’t understand and air-conditioner is not a thing here.🥵🥵🥵🥵

The lessons I’ve learnt: heat makes people crazy. The nicest of people become the meanest of goblins in this weather, I have spent my days alternating between taking care of ill patients who are dehydrated whilst remembering not to lose my temper, having no energy feeling like a zombie and trying not to become a patient myself drink water kids keep hydrated stay out of direct sunlight 😭😭😭

Question of the week: everyone who’s in the middle of a heat wave? How are you doing? Are you still with us? Have you melted?

Workout soundtrack

BUCK (feat. punchnello)- WOODZ

MORA MORA- chotokkyu

Planetary (GO!)- My Chemical Romance

Ghost- VIXX LR

Equipment Walking pad while using Ring Fit?

I'm wondering if anyone has used a walking pad while walking.

I'm not actually sure if it's a thing. It wouldn't be a powered treadmill, as there are parts in the game that you need to stop and do other exercises, so getting off/on a moving treadmill would be bad.

Is there something that you can walk/jog in place and stop when you need to?

Weight-loss/Diet Starting again

Post image
60 Upvotes

Starting my weight loss journey again after 2 years of neglect. There are months where I would be consistent but then would fall off again. I bought ring fit in hopes of gamifying exercise so it would be easier to build a habit out of it.

Here's to Day 8:

Weight-loss/Diet Starting my Adventure

I have been losing weight, (I'm down about 80 pounds and this is less than halfway to the amount I am aiming for) and my doctor has stressed that with how fast I am losing, I should be concerned with losing muscle mass. I've been eating appropriate protein and walking, but the resistance exercise has been difficult for me to start, I think because I just don't feel comfortable at a gym.

I'm planning on starting my ringfit adventure today. I got this before losing any of the weight and couldn't do many of the exercises, but I am hoping this has changed now that I've lost some.

Not really looking for anything, just sharing.

Health Week Three: Level 68 World 8

Thumbnail

I really should’ve made Mondays my up date day as I seem to always be busy on a Sunday 🫣 but anyway let’s get to it week three going strong

The positive: the game is becoming both more challenging but easier at the same time (this is not an oxymoron) I’m just getting stronger and as I do, I’m proud to say that I am upping the difficulty level I started at 9 I’m now at level 16. I know that a lot of other people are on a lot higher but raising it slightly has really helped to build my stamina so I am very proud of myself. I spent the majority this week going back through the game and hitting 100% on each of the worlds so although my progress seems small, my smoothie counter is bursting😂😂😂

The weather in England is beautiful which has really helped with enthusiasm and encouraged me to get out of bed on my days off and actually play the game (the rest of the week is going to be hotter than the sun so this may change 🥵🥵)

The negative: honestly I don’t really have much in the way of negativity this week which is really good, the only thing I can think of that I’ve struggled with is that I am back on days after being on nights for really long time and I don’t function particularly well working days so this has affected my enthusiasm slightly to work out however, emergency nurses do not get the privilege of fixed working patterns (unless you have a good reason) and shift patterns just suck when you’re doing a mix of days and nights but that’s the job so what can you do. That being said it hasn’t actually affected me as much as normal so I’m kind of chill, like I’ve had a pretty positive week.

The lessons I’ve learnt: I think the one thing that I really learnt this week more than the following that this is a great workout tool but it is also a game and if you do not follow it and try to speed run it you’re not going to finish!! smoothies, quests and outfits are all extremely necessary otherwise you are going to continuously fail throughout the game.

Words of wisdom: at any point during gameplay that you feel like you want to cheat a move stop playing you are only cheating yourself and it just means your body and your mind has had enough. It is okay to walk away and come back at another point.

Incoming message from your calves “compression stockings are life do not sleep on them”

Workout soundtrack:

Little Girl Gone- CHINCHILLA
The Phoenix- Fall Out Boy
BANDAGE-Ayumu Imazu
House Party-SUPER JUNIOR

Question of the week: what is your most favourite and least favourite mini game?

My favourite is smack back. My least favourite is the pottery one.

Fitness Feeling sluggish during exercise

This is the second time it has happened. The first time, I kinda got the idea because I previously had a very fat breakfast, but this time, I had a savory oatmeal with a fried egg.

Was it the temperature? Today was pretty hot, and I didn't turn on the AC cause the room was pretty small, and it would've blown on me, so I opened a window.

Or the lack of good sleep? Truth be told, these couple of years, I've been rarely able to sleep well.

Or all of the above? Now that I wrote it down, it seems kind of obvious.😅

Gameplay Please help

I’ve seen this problem posted by a few people, but most of the posts are older, so I wanted to ask again.

I have a Nintendo Switch and a brand-new copy of Ring Fit Adventure with the Ring-Con. I’m using the original red and blue Joy-Cons that came with my Switch, not third-party controllers.

Every time I try to set up the game, the left Joy-Con connects fine, but the right Joy-Con will not register in the Ring-Con. The buttons on the right Joy-Con work normally, and the controller works outside of Ring Fit, but once I’m in the game, it will not detect the right Joy-Con/Ring-Con input. My switch when I first put in the game had me do a software update so I assume it’s not that.

I have tried:
Reconnecting the Joy-Cons as one Player 1 pair before opening the game

Closing and restarting the game

Restarting the Switch

Putting the Joy-Cons into the Ring-Con/leg strap before starting the game

Making sure both Joy-Cons show as Player 1 before opening Ring Fit

But when I open Ring Fit, it immediately separates them into Player 1 and Player 2, and the right Joy-Con still won’t register in the Ring-Con.

This is also my second Ring Fit Adventure set. I returned the first one because it was used, and I thought the Ring-Con might be broken. Now I have a brand-new one, and my Switch is also brand new, but I still can’t get past setup.
Has anyone found a fix for this? Could this be an issue with the right Joy-Con rail/contact, the Ring-Con, or something with the Switch settings?

Update:
I found another issue while troubleshooting. My Joy-Cons work normally during games, both attached to the Switch and detached wirelessly. I don’t notice any connection drops, and the buttons respond fine.
But when I try to update the controllers in System Settings, the update fails and says, “The connection with the controller has been lost.” At first I thought it was only the right Joy-Con, but it seems to happen with both.
I’ve already updated the Switch system, restarted the console, disconnected all controllers in settings, reconnected them, and reset both Joy-Cons with the SYNC button. They still work normally in games, but the controller update will not complete.
Has anyone had Joy-Cons work fine in games but fail the controller update like this?

Undate: I HAVE MEDIUM NEWS
Turns out the controller is on my switch were fake. Maybe somebody returned the switch to Amazon and replace the controllers and Amazon sold it. Anyways medium news because I had fake controllers RIP but good news because I got the game to work.

Thought it might be of some use for folks who only have time for a quick set or two, but still want the EXP for Adventure Mode.

It's an incomplete list as I'm still working my way through Adeventure Mode, but could be handy nonetheless. I'll update as I go if people find it worthwhile.

Arms Set: World 9 - Flex Dojo

Flexibility Set: World 12 - Wings of Daddalus

Equipment ANOTHER Controller question sorry

Hi everyone,

It looks like these questions get asked loads, so I'm sorry to add to this, but I couldn't find an answer to my specific question.

I've been debating getting the NES controllers from the Nintendo online store too with a charging grip, so I wondered if anyone with ringfit owns these and can tell me if they have the necessary sensors and stuff built in that would mean they'd work with the ring-con?

If I'm gonna get any switch controllers I'd most likely to get these, but only if they're compatible with the game.
