R&B vocals over jazz piano apartment session…

I invited my jazz piano friend Sarah Tandy over to play some music with me so i could get some videos of my progress so far with singing this song.

She also gave me a quick piano lesson on how to actually play this track which was really useful!

MUMBLE JAZZ is Autotune jazz scatting. Vocalese ran through Autotune, paired alongside my 6 string bass for solos. I started this style because as a bassist I wanted to be a lead voice but didn’t want to be just a bass solo guy. Boy do I wish I would’ve just been a bass solo guy. Hello! We invited Joe Armon-Jones to do a fully improvised session with us and here is the first single :)

This month one year ago (in July 2025), someone asked if I had a piano arrangement of this song. I didn't, but it had been something I was thinking about making for a while. So, I made the arrangement that week, but I never recorded it. Now, after all this time, I've finally recorded this song.
