Ready Meals: Prepared meal delivery services. (Updated 12/5/25)

Healthy prepared meals and diet delivery programs for busy people, who don't have time to cook.

Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for the sub?

Please abide by the following rules:

  1. Polite discussion at all times.

  2. Free or discounted requests and offers are only permitted in Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

  3. Affiliate links must be disclosed. Paid representatives must identify themselves.

  4. Do not spam your offers and requests in Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

  5. Don't offer or accept cash transactions for promotional offers.

TL;DR:

Discussion > Top Level Posts

Promotion > Official Monthly Request & Offer Sharing Thread

NOTE: If your post has links, referrals, QR codes, gift cards or prices in the headline or description, then you are promoting.

ANY POST WITH VISIBLE QR CODES WILL BE REMOVED

ANY POST WITH LINK EXTENSIONS WILL BE REMOVED

See Reddit's Content Policy

Commonly Asked Questions:

Where should I post my offer or discount request?

You should post all offers and discounts in the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

Where should I post my offer or discount request questions?

Again, you should post all offer and discount questions in the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread.

Why was my post removed?

You posted an offer or discount request somewhere other than the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread. (See Rule #2)

Top level posts are for discussion not promotion. If you are promoting then you are violating the rule.

Therefore, if your post has commercial links, referrals, QR codes, gift cards or prices in the headline or description then you are promoting.

You violated one of the other four sub rules. (See Rules above)

Note: Your link may have been removed by a Reddit Admin spam filter because it used a link shortener or it re-directs.

See Reddit Comment Formatting for the proper way to shorten a link.

What is a top level post?

A primary or original post that initiates a discussion or thread by a user.

What is an official post?

Any stickied post by a Mod or Admin in a particular forum.

Why was I warned about duplicate posts?

You repeatedly added the same link to the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread, in order to gain exposure. Do not spam your referral links. (See Rule #4)

  • Add one unique item per month.

  • Feel free to edit & delete previous items or update your offers or discounts.

  • Duplicate posts will be removed.

What is a generic link?

Generic links for informational purposes (xyzDOTcom) are fine in the comments. Provided, they simply state the domain without any extensions. Any link that uses a link shortener or has extensions beyond the domain URL will be removed. Any referral links outside of the sticked Request and Offer Thread will be removed.

What are “Free Boxes”?

Promotional offers for new Meal Kit services. Prepared Meal services generally only offer discounts.

What are affiliate links?

Affiliate links are referrals that connect to a specific account and give that person some sort of perk if someone else clicks them. Paid representatives must identify themselves. These links usually say "affiliate" or "partner" in the extension.

For example, in response to "Which meal service would be good for These links usually say "affiliate" or "partner" in the extension. eaters?", instead of posting:

I think Sunbasket would be a good match.

Please post something like:

I think Sunbasket would be a good match. Here's my personal referral link for Sunbasket, $90 off your first order

Disclosure: Please note that if you sign up for Sunbasket with the example links above, /u/tiltedsun will actually receive an account credit.

What can I trade here?

Some folks will trade their “Free Box” credits for other “Free box” credits from competing food services. Others, may trade their discounts for other discounts with competing food services.

What is account churning?

Creating multiple accounts in order to generate introductory discounts. This practice will get you barred from most services. Discussing those methods in this forum violates Reddit’s terms of use.

What is REDACT software?

A type of anonymizing software to remove comments after a time interval. This software may be employed by trolls and paid affiliates and its use is not allowed in this forum.

Can I post under multiple accounts?

No, posting multiple offers under multiple account ID's will get you Banned.

Can I request cash for discounts or services?

No, we wish to avoid cash exchanges as they may violate Reddit's policy against prohibited transactions.

(See Rule #5)

What is a QR code?

A QR code is a matrix barcode that looks like a pixelated postage stamp. These are active links and should only be posted in the Monthly Request and Offer Sharing thread. Please blur or remove any QR codes in your photos or your post will be removed. (Again, see Rule #2)

Will I get anything for offering my Prepared Meal discount here?

This depends on the Prepared Meal service you are using but you should be transparent at all times (see Rule #3).

Most services offer direct discounts to users for promotion of their service. Please disclose the details of your offer.

Who will enforce these exchange agreements?

No one will, Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware). Please honor your exchange agreements, if any.

What kind of packaging do these services use?

Most meal kit services use biodegradable packaging. Cardboard boxes and gel ice packs surrounded by cotton fiber insulation or reflective style foil bags. YMMV

Are Prepared Meals cheaper than shopping?

No, you are paying for prepared food and convenience. Cooking for yourself is always cheaper.

However, some individuals find they waste less and have more time with Prepared Meals, especially during a busy work week.

Are Meal Kits cheaper than shopping?

Most likely not but you are paying for the convenience of delivered supplies and recipe formulation.

What is the difference between Meal Kits and Prepared Meals?

  • Meal Kits are food ingredients and recipe formulations.

  • Prepared Meals are microwave or oven ready meals.

Are Meal Kits cheaper than Prepared Meals?

Generally, you can find Meal Kits that are geared for value.

However, there are gourmet kits that cost as much as Prepared Meals. They will have unique recipes and higher quality ingredients.

Why was my shortened link removed?

Your link was removed by a Reddit Admin spam filter (Auto Mod) because it uses a link shortener or re-directs. The spam filter removes all URL shorteners as they may be used to hide domain names and evade domain bans. Only direct referral links are allowed.

Why was my survey poll removed?

We remove survey links because they tend to be spam, harvesting user data. You need to identify yourself or the organization you represent. Survey spam is a recurring problem. We have people posing as students, farming ID's. Surveys are fine if they are anonymous and don't require registration or ID.

Do not ask for personal contact information from users.

We only allow anonymous Reddit polls, using the Reddit app.

Why was I banned from the sub?

Pick one or all of the following:

  • You were warned repeatedly.

  • You were argumentative.

  • You disregarded a mod directive.

  • You used multiple ID's to spam.

  • You tried to evade a temporary ban.

What is Ban Evasion?

You can answer or pose any questions you like, in any thread.

However, please use the stickied Monthly Request & Offer Sharing Thread for any referral discounts. You can mention and refer to that discount thread in your comments. Do not post direct links in comments.

Normally, generic links (xyzDOTcom) are fine in comments but we frown on personal referral links in comments. As you represent a commercial entity, all of your links are links are considered referrals.

Use of multiple ID's to spam will not be tolerated. We welcome your participation and you may promote your services within these guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

CookUnity “Orders will now include one transit day before arriving at your doorstep”

I’m a CookUnity customer and just got an email informing me that there’s gonna be a delivery logistics change in my area and orders will now include one transit day before arriving—in other words, they will be in transit for 24 additional hours on top of the usual amount of time it takes to deliver.

This doesn’t impact the delivery day/time. However, I’m worried about food safety. I reached out to customer service and they reassured me that the package is properly prepped to keep my fold cold and there are other places where it’s in transit this long or even longer. But I’m not sure I totally believe them. In my experience the ice will melt in under 24 hours.

Has anyone else experienced this or gotten this notification?

Edit: not talking about the skin, I love the skin. Not so much for the scales

Worst customer service of all of them. Loved most of their meals. Unfortunately they have delivered my meals to other addresses.. twice. Their phone number doesn't work. Stay away! So many other reliable companies.

Review My factor experience so far

Ordered 12 meals with the promo for 95.07.

Package came this morning at 9 AM. App notified me, was placed at the entryway to my apartment building, middle walk through which is alright.

Had 2 of the meals so far and they were both meals I would reorder.

Meal 1 Smoky Cheddar Pork Tenderloin: Solid, too much of the cheddar sauce though but it was off to the side, so I just dipped the meat in it. 8/10.

Meal 2 Diavilo Paprika Chicken Penne: Tasted great, 9/10.

A 12 meal plan without discounts is 173.66 a week. Eeek. I think too pricy without discounts. Might downgrade to the 6 meal plan which is still pricy at 106.62, but I already am spending similar money eating out every day already.

I will keep a log of how the meals are this week. Thanks.

Question Have to be picky: diabetic-friendly, allergen-friendly, microwaveable, and takes out the mental load.

Hi all, my situation:

1) Ever since pregnancy, I’ve been pre-diabetic, so I’m trying to find meal plans that will support that.

2) I have a couple of allergies. They’re not too severe, so I don’t worry about cross-contamination too much, and they’re not terribly uncommon. However, they’re not in the Big 9 so I can’t find any meal delivery that will accommodate them.

3) I need to take meals to the office, so I can’t cook them. They need to be microwaveable.

4) I don’t want to really do the meal planning myself, because I don’t know crap about nutrition and don’t know what I want for dinner.

Based on this: any suggestions for a meal delivery plan where they’ll make suggestions for your meals but show ingredients so you can trade out for another option? And those options don’t require cooking, just microwaving?

As an added bonus: I’d like to try being more plant-based. It’s lower-priority than these other priorities, but if your suggestions have good plant-based options, that would be a plus!

All right, any suggestions? Thank you for any ideas you have!

Question Tovala Delivery Issues?

I've had issues with deliveries in FL the last couple of weeks. I've been very happy for the most part until now.

Last week, the FedEx delivery took an extra day in transit and arrived above "safe" temperature. No big deal, Tovala is good about crediting your next order if that happens, so this week was a "freebie".

Unfortunately, they decided to switch this week to a company called Veho that I've never heard about. It got off on the wrong foot when I got an email Wednesday saying that shipping would be a day later but the packs should arrive OK.

The tracking link didn't show up yesterday at all and when I could see it this morning (briefly) it was showing a delivery estimate of Sunday. That would have been much too long for transit down here and I guess Veho figured that out and cancelled the delivery. They said they notified Tovala so I waited until the end of the day to contact them myself. I hadn't heard from Tovala at all.

Anyone else having changes/issues out of their Jacksonville distribution?

It's set for Thursday which is an awkward day since the week is almost over. I want the meals mostly for Monday-Friday.

Photo Review Sprinly review: it sucks

Tried Sprinly recently since I'm vegan and gluten free. It seemed decent at first, though the ingredients are definitely on the weirder side (noodles I'd never heard of) and the taste wasn't always great. Still, it was a nice option to have when I didn't feel like cooking.

Then, pretty suddenly, all of the sauces became extremely watery, portion size became so low it was insulting (literally three pieces of tofu in a tofu dish), and the actual food they started dove in quality. For example, there was a "home style fries" side included in one dish, and they instead sent extremely mushy chopped up sweet potatoes. They seemed like they had been cooked and sitting in a fridge for weeks.

I emailed them a few weeks before I got fed up, thinking these issues might be temporary. They continued and got worse. They did give me a refund on the dish I complained about, but it got to the point where it was essentially every sauce they sent, and I'm not looking for a food service I have to get refunds on all the time.

I don't seem to be able to post videos here, so here are photos from the videos I sent them of their "marinara" dish. First is with the "sauce" poured in, second is once I drained it into a bowl to show just how bad it was.

Discussion CookUnity Unity Pass feedback

I've been with CookUnity for a while now and other than my meals being delivered at inconsistent times of the day, I've had a good experience. So I signed up for Unity Pass since the app said it wouldn't charge me a delivery fee and I could get premium meals at the regular price (or something like), plus other "perks", which I haven't seen yet, but I just joined UP last week. Anyone have any feedback on Unity Pass? My biggest question is whether the premium meals will actually be discounted or not.

CookUnity quality issue

Post image
37 Upvotes

I ordered the Salisbury steak for this week. After a few bites, I noticed the inside was completely raw. Not medium or medium rare - just plain uncooked ground beef. Has anyone else experienced this kind of quality issue with their meals? I'm really grossed out by this as it definitely seems like a food safety issue.

I already contacted support and they just gave me the cost of the meal ($8.68) back as a credit. Doesn't feel right since I spent the rest of the night worrying about food poisoning from the bites I had before I noticed.

Is taste drastically different across meal companies?

If you have tried multiple companies, did you notice a large difference in terms of taste of the actual food? I’m sure quality plays a role too, are there differences you noticed?

Anyone have any experiences they can share about Spartan Meal Preps?

I’m trying a ready meal prep service for the first time ever - and I went with spartan meal preps. I believe they’re based in NJ. I saw some friends eating it the other night & it looked yummy so I went ahead and ordered the first 10 meals with their 10% off coupon.

Wondering if anyone else has tried this service and ever had any good or bad experiences!

Question Need Recommendations for Meal Delivery to Lose Weight and Gain Muscle

I'm trying to find the best option. What has worked for you and what hasn't? I need to lose weight as well as gain muscle. I'm also trying to prevent myself from getting diabetes as it runs in the family and I'm one of the only ones left that doesn't have it. My goal as a soon to be 44 year old male is to drop from 230 to 190.

Back again with a few more meal reviews!

Korean Chili Chicken

This has become one of my faves: great flavor, nutrient dense, and fits my macros nicely. I topped the broccoli with the sesame-scallion sauce and it added some much needed saltiness. All in all, a keeper in my rotation.

Chilled Soba Noodle Salad

The cold soba noodle salad I had previously reviewed is my absolute fave Cookunity meal ever. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been in the lineup for weeks now, so I caved and tried this version. The noodles were perfectly al-dente, the shrimp was plentiful, and the yuzu sauce was bright and light. The whole thing was refreshing and very filling. Glad I tried this one and reordered it for this week.

Greek Chicken Power Bowl

This had all of the classic Greek flavors I love and was easy to fit into my daily calories, so I enjoyed it. While I’ll never be farro’s biggest fan, it did add a nice bite to this alongside the crunchy cucumber.

Maryland Style Crab Cakes

My bf wanted to try these and he loved them. In his words, they were “lumpy, tasted like Maryland crab cakes. Good chunks of meat, good Old Bay flavor. Tasted authentic”. I thought rice was a bit odd as a side, but he said it was well-seasoned at least. The sauce was a classic spicy mayo that added some depth. I was skeptical about this one, but they did a good job.

Buttery Lobster Risotto

I’ll admit, I was a bit cynical about this when I ordered it. I was expecting a few sad chunks of lobster and soggy risotto, but wanted to try something new. I’m so glad I did because it was amazing! There was plenty of (intact) lobster and the risotto was nicely cooked. Both reheated well (oven method always) and I was satiated afterwards despite it looking like a small portion. Would def order this next time I’m craving lobster.

Char Siu BBQ Rice Bowl

If you like Chinese food, you’ll love this. The glaze was a beautiful blend of Chinese five-spice. The pork was leaner than I was expecting, with just enough fat to add flavor. The rice and veg helped soak up the sauce. I had never had yu choy before, but it reminded me of spinach with more crunch.

What has your fave Cookunity meal been? I’d love some suggestions for my next order!

Cookunity / Oura ring promo seems to be a scam anyone got it?

So I came across a Cookunity ads about giving away Oura ring 5 after 8 orders, and signed up because I got my 4 last year and am still debating if I want to buy a 5. Anyway after that I read the term of condition which basically listed 8 different ongoing promotions, including 6 that offers 20-30% first order discount and only require 4-6 order cycles, and 2 don’t + require a longer ordering cycles. The worst part is in the TOC it clearly states that there will only be 300 Oura rings giveaway and after that even if you complete the orders you won’t be able to get one. The company is also not responsible to substitute the product.

I got the 8-order without discount promos so I don’t think at the end of my orders (roughly 2 months+) there will be any Oura ring left. But curious if anyone actually has gotten one?
