I'm looking for books where the literature is just so profound and interesting that it floods your brain with ideas and new experiences. It can be absolutely anything you like. I mean like a Lex Luthor level of comprehension where the books read can give you quotes to describe any situation.

I'd appreciate any suggestions, fiction or non-fiction, the choice is yours.

Today while waiting for a doctor’s appointment I came across a book about the immune system from kurzgesagt and it was super interesting! Tbh I wanna learn more about animals and plants from books like the one I found in the way the writing is so captivating to the reader. Any recommendations?

Hey, I won't go into much detailed nonsense/rant but I used to believe I have a good range for reading which was me being oblivious, or so my wishful thinking, in short I'd love for a few suggestions for 'not-so-common' books if I may phrase it that way, but basically new stuff to go through (I want to actively try reading across genres that I normally don't,) so if there's someone out there who'd help me through that or even 'guide' if that's the right term for it, i'd love to discuss and read and get your perspective on it

I need some book recommendations for the phase I’m in right now.
I’m working on healing my anxious attachment, becoming more emotionally secure, and reconnecting with my feminine energy and spirituality. I’m also interested in learning more about kundalini, inner healing, mindfulness, and personal growth.
I’d love books that genuinely changed your perspective, not just generic self-help. Fiction with deep life lessons is welcome too. ✨🌿

I have subscribed to The Sun Magazine out of Chapel Hill NC for years and always enjoy it! It is a monthly subscription and contains wonderful fiction short stories, essays, 1 article on a current societal or environmental topic, a section of readers write short essays (my favorite part), excellent black and white photographs, and some other surprises. I have started looking up authors whose stories I particularly enjoy and ordering their books! I consider it to be a treasure trove of small escapes from my day to day reality. I highly recommend if you are someone who enjoys NPR podcasts, The Moth, This American Life…I just read a short story by Joe Wilkins called The Empty Room Inside Each Of Us. It left me wanting more of each character and to find out who the heroes (two young boys) grow up to be.

I'm the kind of person who reads more nonfiction than fiction. But I've been unemployed for longer than I expected, and it's been hard to focus on reading, studying, or really doing much of anything.

I'd love some recommendations for fiction books that are so engaging they completely pull me in. I enjoy fantasy, crime novels, and contemporary stories with interesting or eccentric characters. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi or romance.

Haven’t read in 10+ years and am looking to get back into it. I’m about a third through Project Hail Mary but find it rather slow (will finish).

I tend to watch a lot of psychological, crime, thriller, sci fi tv, looking for suggestions.

I used to read for about 30 minutes or so before bed every night, as a way to calm my mind. I'm now a mom, so reading for fun hasn't exactly been on the front burner for about 15-20 years now.

I love suspense/horror and true crime stuff. Some biographies and autobiographies as well. Some favorite authors are Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Patterson, Mary Highins Clark, and Johnathan Kellerman. Who all do you recommend that I check out? What books left you shook? Bonus if it will grab me right from the get-go and keep me hooked!
