Every time I watch ReLIFE, I end up crying along with Karou Sena.
There’s something about her tears that feels so complex — they’re stubborn, unwilling, and a little bit innocent at the same time. She’s not a character with exceptional athletic talent or an especially brilliant mind, but she stands out because of her discipline and her refusal to give up.
A lot of people see her as childish or even selfish, but I can’t really agree with that. To me, she plays an important role in pushing the story forward, and more importantly, she feels very human.
There’s something strangely compelling about her — flawed, emotional, but always trying her best. And honestly, that’s why I can’t stop feeling for her.
