Whenever one of my rats pisses me off I smear a small amount of peanut butter into his fur on his back and let his brothers have at him.

My poor rat is sneezing and I think might have a wheeze or a click in her breathing 😭
She already has a vet appointment on Monday in like six days. Will she be okay until then? We’re giving her dark chocolate and yogurt and watching her closely
Otherwise her behavior seems completely normal

So ravioli passed away tonight (euthanasia). I've taken it pretty hard as she was my first rat along with Remy who passed away from unsure causes 2 days after I got her a while ago anyways (Rosie came to be my pet a few days later) but now it's just Rosie with me and I'm not sure how long I can wait to introduce another rat. I know they can't be alone. I've showed the body and let her sniff idk if she will grieve or something? I'm not really sure how long to wait until I need to introduce another as I know they can't be alone. I also am just taking this really hard

yeah so I’m single free as a bird and I have some hookups, but ever since getting my guys I didn’t. I had to put them in my room because I have no choice. My question is : did you guys managed to HOOK UP WITH RATS FACING YOUR BED LMAOO ? I feel like this would be a big turn off ahaha

So today I am introducing my older rat Chico, to our new younger rat Angel. Everything seemed to have been going well, Chico was cleaning angel, but then he just started attacking angel. He ended up pulling a clump of fur from him. So we separated them and then tried again, but then he did the same thing. Does anyone know how we can prevent this?

I've been trying hard to make some of my rats lose weight, but unsuccessfully, so I've been wondering if they are actually just naturally, healthily chonky. I weigh them regularly, and their weight stays roughly the same, fluctuates just a little bit.

He is in a temporary cage alone just the time that the hole close. He still gets supervised interaction with his cagemates a few times a day.

My dear baby Bellona has recently started declining from her old age, and has been eating and drinking quite a bit less. My flatmate who owns the rats has had to do quite a fair share of end of life care for past rats and we wanted to do some research on sugar water for older ratties who aren’t getting all the nutrition they need, but haven’t been able to find much info on it. If anyone knows if sugar water would be a good call to help supplement a bit of her diet, or if anyone has a ratio of water to sugar they’d recommend?

In the middle of moving to my new place and the rat room is not yet set up; rattos are in a temporary cage that they have been in dozens of times without issue.

Until last night.

Woke up this morning and came to check on them to discover that they chose day 1 of the new place to learn how to unlatch the cage. One perfect little angel baby was politely sitting inside the open cage waiting for me. The other? Missing.

Well she luckily couldnt have gone far since they were closed in the room. I proceeded to check the cords... all intact except for one nibble. Guess they tasted bad. No poop anywhere except an empty cardboard box. Polite little ladies.

But then... I noticed some chewed up fabric littering one corner of the ground. Followed the trail to a not yet unpacked moving box.

And discovered the criminal herself, caught red-handed chewing the last frayed bit of fabric holding one of the ties on my $200 Shureido gi. My competition gi for karate. The most expensive piece of clothing I own.

I just picked up two dumbo rats and specifically picked from his males from photos. This is clearly not a boy and I just wanna know, is she full of soup?! 😭

Edit: Because I got the question: Madeline is a very tiny dwarf rat, not a mouse. Rats and mice should not be allowed to interact.

These are my ballsack children. They are scrungly orphans I raised from blind and deaf worms. I found them abandoned outside. I’m located in BC Canada. Are these roof rats or Norway rats? Either way I don’t care either way, they are scrinkly children and they’re mine

Today I, being the loving and caring father that I am, bent down to say MWAH MWAH MWAH ! To my beautiful daughter Fig during free roaming time. Because she is very cute! ✨

GRABBED MY NOSE RING with her evil little hands. UNHOOKED IT! I had to spend 5 minutes in the bathroom re-clasping it because I haven’t swapped this ring since I put it in and I forgot how it worked. I felt like a fool.
Moral of the story: do NOT be kind to your rats, they will try to take away your swag…. They’re jealous of my drip perhaps….

(It didn’t hurt at all and nothing bad actually happened)

I really need to know, are my three male rats just lazy or are they bored? They're 9 months old at the moment. They don't chew bars nor destroy their hammocks. I've had girls before and if I have to compare the two genders it's a huge difference, these girls would run all day, do crime and use their wheel non-stop.

Now these boys only like to lay or cuddle, rarely use the wheel and when It's free roam time they just follow me around or hide behind sofa pillows. I do give them toys to chew and explore. But as I say, maybe 80% of time they just chill.

Pebble and Koike—2 of my 5 boys. Koike likes to pull on his older brothers' tails (I'm waiting for them to finally scold him) and Pebble is my premier escape artist.

There is very little I would not do for all of them.
