Is brocode's python course video good for a complete beginner?

So I have just started coding(no prior experience) and I started watching brocode's python video. Initially I was watching him do stuff first and then replicate it my way but now I will see him explain the title and would try to do it myself first and then see how he did it and if he does it more efficiently I would also try to learn it. Also would the cs50 course be better for a beginner(I tried to learn from it at start but couldn't understand anything but I have heard it's like the best course out there)

If it works for you, it's good for you.

Personally, I think Harvard's CS50x is the best I've seen.

But there is no "perfect for everybody", so pick one and work hard.

Of his many "courses" the Python course is by far his best course, as he's added a lot of exercises to it. When you consider that it's free, I see no reason not to continue with it. As the other respondent to you stated, it is not a "learn computer programming" course -- it's a "learn python" course, but that's not a criticism nor a reason to change what you're doing. There is nothing preventing you from doing a MOOC course like CS50 or the University of Helsinki intro to programming once you're done.

Your approach of trying to do it yourself first, then looking at his solution, is an excellent way of challenging yourself, validating that you are actually able to code, and also discovering alternatives and methods you aren't familiar with.

Bro Code is great for a beginner, but he will show you how to use the concepts in a very basic way. Great for picking up concepts but it's up to you to put it to work. Just knowing what strings, functions and variables are doesn't make you good, you have to just keep building to get there.

No course is perfect for anyone, pick whatever fascinates you throughout your learning journey.
