Does tenure matter more than skills?
I am a PM with 1.5 years of product experience and 4 years of engineering background (was honestly lucky to have broken into the field without an MBA) and now that I am finally trying to switch - it seems impossible. I get rejected without even reaching an interview. I see people in the field with more experience but really bad product experience land prestigious roles even AI PM roles without ever properly using Claude. Not able to make sense of the market, is this something you guys have also experienced or noticed? How would you go about navigating such a scenario?
