The "Check Hybrid Battery - stop car in a safe place immediately" notice appeared on the dash of my Prius C. The fault that came up was "P0B47 Hybrid battery voltage sensor C circuit low".

Has anyone driven their car after this happened, or know how far it can be safely driven? The car starts and runs okay for now.

I'm wondering if it could be driven 350 km or so to my preferred service centre without causing any grief. This is probably a dumb idea, but I thought I'd ask.

2013 prius c four, 258k miles, salvaged, purchased for $3k in socal.

Google says that "prius C 1, C3, C4 etc" are talking about the generation of hybrid.. but that can't be because people are listing "prius (N)" sometimes within the same model year or model generation.

What do all these numbers and letters mean? I can't tell the difference other than wheels or fascia and sometimes, not even they are different from listing to listing or two different cars for sale look exactly the same, same year, but have new numbers! How does this work?

Hi there! I had a similar problem on my 2012 Prius C where I went into limp mode and needed to be taken to the dealership since it was likely the hybrid battery system that was malfuntioning.

So the verdict was the inverter assembly (which was described as a "computer brain") needs to be replaced because they could not even get the car on (both the 12v and hybrid battery are in good health and newish), and it is likely that the inverter assembly is cutting power to the hybrid and causing the whole car to stay in limp mode.

I was quoted at 3200 + tax on the part itself, and labor is probaly going to be 2000 on top of that.

Does it sound likely that for the age of the car, the miles (close to 200,000), and the health of the batteries, that my car would run into this problem? Is it normal to have to replace the inverter assembly of a hybrid car? Sometimes the car needs a new brain?

Also....was able to read through some posts and saw shared documents about a 15 year warranty for some priuses, so maybe I'm covered. Any other info would be helpful! Thanks redditors for what you have to share!!!

So I recently had to replace the subframe on my 2013 along with control arms. I've been trying to decide upon keeping it or selling for what it's worth.

The car has been bulletproof as far as maintenance up until now. My biggest anxiety is coming from the age on the hybrid battery.

There's a free app called Hybrid Assistant that I just used to do a hybrid battery test. Everyone has heard of Dr Prius but I just didn't want to shell out money to use it.

The Hybrid Assistant app produces a very technical battery report that, honestly, didn't mean a whole lot to me.

However, I shoved that report into a couple AI models and got some great feedback on what all the numbers meant and why. They also gave an overall score where one said my battery is around 91.3% and another said 90%. Both said the battery is not an immediate concern for this vehicle.

Sigh of relief... there's no guarantee but it does make me feel better. If you're looking for some quick, free info give it a try on yours.

I have a 2014 Prius C 180k miles, already replaced the hybrid battery 2 years ago. It gave me the red triangle of death last week and stranded me on the other side of town. Plugged in the OBDII reader: code error P0A94.

I know there is a recall for the inverter IPM failing that gives that same P0A94 code, had it towed over to the main Toyota dealership to see if the repair would fall under the recall.

Dealership ran it through their code reader, now we have sub codes:

C1214 hydraulic control system malfunction

C1259 HV/EV control system regenerative malfunction

C1310 HV/EV system malfunction

But they still don't "know what the problem is", can't say if it'd fall under the recall yet, and to find out any more they'd need to start pulling it apart to find out. They want $1200 to do that, just to identify the problem.

Has anyone else had any experience with the above codes? How much was the total fix?

$1200 seems exceptionally high to just identify the problem.

I was planning to sell this car in a couple months anyways and am considering just walking away from it now (just sell it for parts & scrap). But am not confident that I'm not being scammed by the dealership over what could be a affordable repair or a repair that should fall under the recall.

Anyone been able to DIY install a fairly decent alarm system on a Prius C or Aqua?

Major name brands like Viper, Compustar, Avital are compelling to me but even a budget Chineseum brand I would consider so long as it has good DIY guidance and expansion/upgradeability.

I think this genre of sticker is so funny but I want to make a digital one like this one. But I worry about it getting damaged/worn from being outside so I want to just stick it to the inside of the window. I don’t know much about cars, or coding, or wiring… BUT, I think I can figure it out lol. I can follow the fuse box diagram fine to unplug it while I’m working, and I don’t mind making cuts/mods to the inside of the door panel. Any advice on accessing the wiring for the backup camera? Just wanted to put out a massive warning for anyone looking to buy an OEM hybrid battery over the counter from a dealership. ​I recently paid ~$4,000 for a new battery at Morgan City Toyota, which included a massive $1,350 core deposit upfront. I did the swap myself (which is totally doable and clean), transferred all my original computers, junction blocks, and wiring harnesses over, and returned the core. The dealer accepted it face-to-face. ​Days later, they called me to hold my $1,350 deposit hostage over a few standard 10mm external nuts on the side panels above the relays. Because I naturally used those nuts to secure the panels on the new battery inside my car so I could drive, they claimed the core wasn’t "complete." ​Worse yet, I literally bought brand-new, replacement hardware to hand them to complete the core, and they rejected it because it wasn't the "original hardware". Escalating to corporate. This is ridiculous.

I am in desperate need of a car. We are a couple with no kids atm and live in Atlantic Canada.

This car seems to be a Upgrade Package (it contains cruise control).

It had a minor accident on fender which was covered by insurance. Carfax report says the damage was around 3500 CAD.

• Less than $200 (ideally) would be willing to spend more for prius than ranger
• i am comfortable with removing headboard/trim/weather seals
• i am comfortable with direct wiring (12v) i would prefer to not have a cigarette lighter or OBD connector
• the prius has a front collision detection system (at least that's what i think it is)
• fitcamx did not have a plug/play model for this style

Just a heads up to others... I have a 2013 Prius C with 74,000 miles on it. The car has been great and is in great shape. I'm on the original battery but things still seem good right now.

Needed to replace the control arms. Uh-oh. There's a nut hidden away inside the subframe that is inaccessible for repair. If that nut breaks loose from the subframe (due to corrosion most likely) there is no way to get to it.

Mine broke off the subframe. So now I'm getting a new subframe with labor and two new control arms for the low, bargain price of $3000!!!!!

Just for a nut hidden in the subframe to speed up assembly line work.

I wish you all that you never have this happen to you.

So now I've been forced to shell out a lot of the car's value in order to get it moving again. My fear is the battery is likely going in the not so distant future. Should I keep putting money in it or bail for trade in value?

A deer managed to find their way into the side of me and I’m looking to hit a pick and pull near me to get a replacement fender and door. From what I can tell there are a few different model cars from which I could pull a front fender/door from. Close in year but different models of Prius, Yaris, Corollas?
