Reverse Kegel is the opposite of the Kegel exercise. during a Kegel exercise, you tense up your pelvic floor muscles to strengthen them, and in reverse Kegel, you completely relax your pelvic floor muscles to lower stimulation and delay orgasm.
Mechanism of work
When you have sex, there are two types of pleasure that you feel in your penis: pleasure type one and pleasure type two. Type one is a pleasurable sensation that maintains your erection and keeps your penis hard, but it doesn't lead to ejaculation, this pleasurable sensation originates in your frenulum and your shaft.
Type two pleasure is an intense type of pleasure that leads to orgasm. This type of pleasure originates in your prostate. Your prostate is a specialized sex organ that has many roles, but its most important role is to initiate the ejaculation process,

first we need to understand the autonomic nervous system, in the human body we have two types of nervous systems in terms of physiology: the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system (ANS), the somatic nervous system controls voluntary actions like walking and moving your arms around, the autonomic nervous system controls actions that you don't have control over, like your blood pressure and heart rate etc.
this ANS can further be divided into two divisions based on the time it's activated, these divisions are sympathetic and parasympathetic, some of you maybe familiar with theses names, the parasympathetic division of the ANS controls physiological processes (like your heart rate) when you are resting and relaxed, while the sympathetic division of the ANS controls physiological processes (like your heart rate) when your are stressed. your heart rate when you are lying on your couch reading a reddit post is different than your heart rate when you are running from a lion.
how does the ANS correlate to the male sexual act? during the sexual act the parasympathetic division of the ANS controls the erection, and the sympathetic division initiates the orgasm. meaning your sympathetic system has only one job when it's activated and that job is to make you ejaculate.
the ejaculation process starts at your prostate. while the parasympathetic is keeping you hard, the sympathetic is listening to your prostate to start the ejaculation process, once your prostate receives enough stimulation (enough pressure/squeezing) your sympathetic will fire up and make you ejaculate.
when you do reverse kegel you prevent prostate stimulation, which will prevent the sympathetic from firing up and thus delay your orgasm.
How to do reverse kegel the correct way
Many of you do reverse kegel wrong and end up making yourself orgasm during the process, Here's how to do reverse kegel the correct way to delay your orgasm
1. Know what a tense pelvic floor is like
to know how to do reverse kegel first you need to know what a tense pelvic floor feels like, to do this I want you pull up your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to bring your anus upwards, similar to what you would do if you were trying to hold a fart in. this is your pelvic floor muscles as fully tense, reverse kegel is the exact opposite of this now let's go to step two
2. Push down
After you pull your pelvic floor muscles up, now push down as if you are trying to push a fart out. It's okay if you fart while doing this, we're just learning the technique here, with your pelvic floor muscles pushed all the way down as far as you comfortably can, this is reverse Kegel, and you're ready for step three
3. Keep it down for 15 seconds
keep your pelvic floor muscles in reverse kegel position for 15 seconds and pay attention to what it feels like compared to normal, and tense pelvic floor muscles.
4. Relax and feel your PFM come up
after holding down for 15 seconds, relax and stop pushing down, your pelvic floor muscles will naturally come back half the way up to their resting position, the resting position is midway between fully tense (kegel) and fully relaxed (reverse kegel)
5. Wait for 30 seconds and repeat
wait in the normal resting position for 30 seconds, and when you are ready you can start pushing down again.
6. Repeat
Do this 5 to 10 times per day until you master your pelvic floor muscle movements and gain full control.
Common mistakes to avoid
Avoid these three common mistakes
1. Don't do reverse kegels on a full bladder
make sure you pee before starting since doing reverse kegels on a full bladder will make it rather uncomfortable
2. Don't rush the results
don't try to gain full control from the start, instead start slow to master your pelvic floor muscles control and get permanent results
3. Don't hold your breath
the main goal for reverse kegel is to relieve pressure from your prostate and prevent it from being squeezed. for this to happen effectively, you need to avoid holding your breath, when you hold your breath your diaphragm will push your intestines down against your prostate and squeeze it, and this will lead to failure. remember to breathe normally at normal depth and rate.
