CrimeTea ⚖️ A 25-year-old man has become the first person convicted in a sprawling child sex abuse scandal in France. The Paris prosecutor's office has now opened more than 100 investigations involving schools and nurseries across the city since the beginning of the year
He received an 18-month suspended prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a young girl at an after-school club when she was between the ages of 3 and 5.
So far more than 132 teachers and after school activity leaders have been suspended but he is the first one sentenced so far

Who could have imagined the country hiding Roman Polanski would be light on pedophiles.

The judge/jury that gave him such a light sentence should have to do the full 18 months right alongside him. This is not justice.

I worked at two public schools and one private school in Paris. I didn’t get any training when it’s comes how should I behave around children nor did a background check. I’m American and an educator, so I well aware of being a mandated reporter and been trained to be hyper aware of contact.
France needs to do a better job!

I posted this in another post but these light penalties for heinous crimes across Europe are going to usher in the far right. Le Pen is already leading polls to be next PM in France.
You can't convict a guy of raping a three year old and then give him an 18 month suspended prison sentence. People say the US has an over incarceration problem but when you have these people that are a danger to society part of being a responsible government is locking them away so they can't harm more people.

The irony is that I am in the US where the Epstein files are being held up by a far right government.

By held up I mean, they won’t release them all. For reasons.

The reasons being they are in them or their paymasters are. Far right parties are actually famously known for protecting sexual criminals.

132 teachers suspended for sexual crimes to children as young as three is actually a massive crime and more people should care about this

Why does it seem like every country is soft on protecting children from these things? 18 months is not enough. People get more time for pettier crimes. Abuse of children has lasting consequences and far reaching consequences

I don't understand this at all...IMO This guy should be locked up for at least 10 to 15 years...18 months suspended sentence for sexually abusing and taking away the innocence of a child...This is utterly disgusting!

18 months suspended, what type of deterrent is that? What treatment exactly? There’s no cure for this type of perversion, that is a well documented fact!
